COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY As one of the leading manufacturers and distributors of teak furniture in North America, we recognize its influence on the industry and its impact on the environment, specifically in regard to forest conservation and sustainability.
Rainforest Preservation Along with our policy to source teak wood only from credibly certified teak plantations managed by the Indonesian Ministry of Forestry, we take great care in ensuring that every step in the manufacturing process of our furniture is in line with our commitment to sustainability. We only use teak wood that is R
SVLK and FSC certified, ensuring 100% transparency in the “Chain of Custody” and ensuring the traceability of every component of the wood used in our furniture, from forest to showroom floor. Teak sourced from these sustainable plantations is verified to ensure that the timber products comply with forestry laws, which are designed not only to stop illegal logging and promote sustainable forest management, but also to ensure biodiversity and the livelihoods of the people that depend on them.
Humanity in Sustainability Sustainability, however, is a holistic endeavor and cannot possibly be successful if it is limited to the realm of forest conservancy and biodiversity. We work only with factories who are concerned about the health, safety, and well-being of the people who make it all possible —the mill workers, craftsmen, and those working in the teak plantations. Humanity must necessarily be part and parcel of that holistic approach to sustainability, without which the idea would become quite meaningless since it plays a pivotal role in the quest for a truly sustainable planet.
