Notes from the Artistic Director
Some of you might remember the original Addams Family TV show which debuted on September 18, 1964, and ran for two years. As a child, I remember watching reruns with my mom and being fascinated by the quirky characters and corny jokes. So, it was no surprise that I chose this show back in 2019 which was to be performed in March of 2020. Unfortunately, the performance was cancelled due to the pandemic, and we were all devasted that all our hard work was lost in the turmoil of covid. The revival of this musical has been a goal of mine since 2020, and I am ecstatic that The Addams Family will finally be performed for an audience!
This delightful show is full of so many teachable moments. It explores the acceptance of difference and individuality, love and the complexities of relationships, truth verses deceit, and lastly, how to forgive. It highlights how “normal” is subjective and how difficult it is to navigate the difficulties that arise in family dynamic.
I am blessed yet again to have the opportunity to work with such a talented cast and an amazingly dedicated and hard-working staff. Thank you to everyone who has brought this production to full fruition. Together, we have created a beautiful show.
