The West Lafayette Tree Friends is a volunteer organization dedicated to protecting our City's trees and greenspaces They plant shade trees along public streets of the City, organize seasonal street tree pruning to ensure tree branches grow above roadways and sidewalks, and complete one or two large planting projects under their Operation Re-leaf tree planting program each year

Founded in 1981, West Lafayette Tree Friends was established by adopting the original West Lafayette Trees and Landscape Ordinance. They work in cooperation with the City and property owners to enhance the beauty of the streets in West Lafayette by pruning and planting trees.

Private donations and grants finance all West Lafayette Tree Friends' initiatives. The West Lafayette Tree Friends meet on the second Tuesday of every month for Tree Friends business These monthly meetings are open to the public Sub-committees for the organization meet throughout the month Just so you know, everyone is welcome to join

On April 28, the West Lafayette Tree Friends helped to organize another fantastic Arbor Day Celebration! More than a hundred local friends joined to dedicate this year's Arbor Day planting of 16 trees to Mayor John Dennis for his 16 years of service to our community. Photo below.

The West Lafayette Parks and Recreation Department is excited to host our 3rd annual Fall Festival on Friday, October 27 at the West Lafayette Wellness Center, but we need our community's help!
