Message from the AmeriCorps Director

As our community continues to grow, so does the need for strong nonprofit organizations, municipalities, and community programs that support our neighbors. That’s why I’m excited to introduce the next chapter of the City of West Lafayette AmeriCorps program, a new initiative made possible through the foresight and commitment of West Lafayette Parks and Recreation.

Our AmeriCorps Fellows will serve alongside local organizations to build stronger volunteer programs, develop new initiatives, expand outreach, and strengthen services that benefit our community. Fellows help create lasting improvements that allow organizations to continue growing long after their service term ends.

Serving as an AmeriCorps Fellow is also an investment in your own future. You will receive hands-on experience, professional training, mentorship, leadership development, and opportunities to build valuable skills in project management, volunteer coordination, communication, and community engagement. Fellows also receive a living allowance stipend and an education award upon successful completion of their term.

We’re seeking passionate individuals ready to strengthen organizations, support local communities, and join a nationwide network of service leaders. If you’re ready to build your skills while helping our community thrive, we encourage you to apply.

Sincerely,

LAST GLANCE

Friday, June 26, 2026, marked the Grand Opening of the Griffin Performance Pavilion at Cason Family Park. Despite the rain, our community came together to celebrate this exciting new space and recognize the generosity of the Griffin family, whose support is helping advance the arts and create a hub for music, performances, and community events. A special thank you to our event sponsors—RL Turner Corporation, Visit Lafayette-West Lafayette, Centier Bank, and Horizon Bank—for helping make this memorable celebration possible.
