Welcome Welcome to West Kerr County and the 2023 edition of the West Kerr Current Outdoors & Visitors Guide.

West Kerr County is expecting many visitors over the course of the next year because of two eclipses, in October 2023 and April 2024.

The guide has a comprehensive story about the eclipses, as well as a listing of resources where readers can find out even more.

It also has a story about where to stay here. Short-term rentals have proliferated in recent years in West Kerr County, a welcome development for visitors because few new hotel rooms have been built in recent years. Many of the short-term rentals are beautiful ... and secluded.

We list a number of these accommodations — though not all — and inform readers how they can make reservations.

There also is a story about staying safe here with the vagaries of our weather. We’re in the middle of a drought, which can increase wildfire dangers, and in the event of heavy rains, readers are advised of flash floods that can occur in the Hill Country.

Opportunities to hear live music in West Kerr County keep growing and the guide tells you where to go — some feature top-notch entertainers you might only expect to hear at larger venues.

A lot of information for visitors is found in advertisements in the guide.

Texas Arts & Crafts Fair coming!

Sept. 23-24 at HCAF in Ingram The Texas Arts and Crafts Fair will observe its 51st year birthday in 2023 and hopes for widespread community support for the landmark event which will be held at the Hill Country Arts Foundation in Ingram Sept. 23-24.

“I am so honored to be trusted with this very important event for the members of our arts community, and we are so excited to continue the things our visitors love, while also trying some new things,” said event director Jennyth Mozenko Peterson.

“This year, we hope to bring back the youth art competitions, and have a plan to partner with the Big Seed Project for some local artists to display their works,” she said.

The fair also features heritage artists who have been with the fair since 1972: Amado Peña, Edith Maskey and Fred Stockbauer.

An eclipse double-whammy coming Save the dates: Oct. 14, 2023, April 8, 2024

By Tony Gallucci Special to the Current It’s the type of bucket-list/once-in-alifetime event of which most people only dream or read about in the pages of National Geographic.

You might spend thousands of dollars on a trip halfway across the world to experience it. But in just a few months it’s going to happen right at our doorstep.

Right here, Kerr County is ground zero for two exceptional solar eclipses, the only place in the world where both events happen just seven months apart – an annular solar eclipse on Oct. 14, 2023, and a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024.

It has been over 100 years since a total solar eclipse was visible in Texas.

Countywide preparations are being made for an onslaught of humans eager

to witness an astronomical event some hail as spiritual.

The first, an annular eclipse, is considered the lesser of the two – the moon will almost completely cover the sun’s disc, leaving only a narrow ring of light creeping around its edges.

That event, less likely to draw the huge crowds, will nevertheless give an indication of what we should expect the following spring.

In April, the moon will completely cover the sun right to its circumference, allowing unfiltered viewing of extraordinary flares generally only visible with million-dollar, specially-outfitted telescopes.

For a little over four minutes we will be plunged into an eerie darkness that bathes the landscape in virtual dusk, while the sun’s corona, stars, and planets all become visible.

And then the orbit of the moon, combined with the rotation and tilt of the earth, will make it seem as though the moon slides away opposite the direction it came from.

Eclipses Continued from Page 6 You may have already sussed this out: this combination of events is caused by a perfect alignment of the moon passing through our line of sight at the exact moment the earth is tilted relative to the sun on our way into winter, followed six months later by virtually the same alignment as we leave winter behind on our way to summer.

A slight difference in the distance of the moon to the earth will result in enough difference in the coverage to create these two wildly different scenarios.

The October annular eclipse will first be visible from land in the U.S. in Oregon and traverse southeastward through eight states, the last being Texas.

It then crosses the Gulf of Mexico, enters the Yucatan Peninsula, nipping Guatemala, slices across all of Central America and northern South America before fading into the sunset across Brazil and the Atlantic Ocean.

In all, the path of annularity is about 4,000 miles in length. Its peak duration in the U.S. will be centered in Texas where it will last about a minute and a

The April total eclipse follows a path rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise, cutting across Mexico from the Pacific, darkening Texas first in the Del Rio area and then crossing the Hill Country beginning around noon on its way northeast to its final U.S. destination over Maine after creating a giant shadow across 13 states.

In our area it will last a mere two seconds shorter than the earlier annular eclipse. Ingram is squarely on the midline of totality.

In both cases, the peak time of visibility in the United States is in the Hill Country of Texas, in Kerr and Real Counties, making our little polygon-ish spot on the map a mecca for die-hard eclipse watchers.

For these events, unlike many other astronomical events we yearn for, there is no need to seek out the darkest spot around, since visibility is not obscured by city lights.

The only big “if” will come from the weather and, of course, we won’t know

Eclipses Continued from Page 7 Typically, weather in both April and October here is dictated by the passage of cold fronts, which could mean cloud cover and rain, though it’s mostly shortlived with a front. Let’s just hope that, if a storm barrels through, it’s done its business and moved out before the moon makes its move.

The City of Kerrville has planned its Fourth Annual River Festival around the October annular eclipse. In addition to the usual family acitivities, there will be educational sessions to prepare the community for viewing, and for what to expect the following spring.

Kerrville also will host a festival, called Dark in the Park, for the April total eclipse. NASA has singled us out as a primary partner for their coverage of the events, and will be broadcasting live from Kerrville.

and will feature an array of eclipse specialists.

It is important to note that during the annular eclipse in October you must wear eye protection that is deemed sun-viewing safe.

Since the moon does not entirely cover the sun, your eyes can be severely damaged if viewing it directly at any time during the eclipse.

It is also critical to know that viewing through everyday binoculars, telescopes or cameras not only won’t protect your eyes, but will magnify the power of the light, doing even more damage.

Think of that childhood ‘thing’ of burning paper or wood with a magnifying glass. You should only be using those devices with a proper eclipse-safe lens filter made for that device. Using eclipse glasses over the lens is not suitable, they are not enough to protect your eyes (or your camera sensor) from the sun when magnified through a lens.

On the other hand, during the four-plus minutes of totality during the April total eclipse, it is safe to view the eclipse directly since the sun is completely covered by the moon. Just remember that in the leadup to, and the exit of the moon, you must go back to using eye protection.

And you’ll want to have plenty of water and snacks to stay hydrated and energized during the day. Finally, don’t forget sunscreen. You likely will be out in full sun for a few hours in anticipation, and you want to protect your skin as much as your eyes.

One last thing: If you’re a visitor to Ingram and Kerr County, and you are now excited about returning to view an eclipse in this most perfect of locations, it would behoove you to immediately begin making plans. Hotels are already filling, as are campgrounds and bed-andbreakfasts. Start calling now to find a place to stay!

Crider’s Dancehall & Rodeo nears 100th Crider’s Rodeo & Dancehall in Hunt — the rodeo and dancehall in the area — is coming up on its 100th anniversary.

The owners are asking for those who have any memorabilia from the “early days” of Crider’s, like T-shirts, koozies, glasses, matchbooks or photos to contact them so they can use them in 100th anniversary celebrtions in 2025.

What you need to know if you go: Crider’s season is open on Saturdays May 29-Sept. 4. The café opens at 6:30 p.m., the rodeo kicks off at 8 p.m. (books open at 6:30 p.m.) and the boot scootin’ dance begins at 9 p.m.

Combo tickets for the rodeo and dance are $15 for ages 13 and over; 12 and under are free. For seniors and active military, the combo cost is $10.

Catfish Friday Nights are held 6-8:30 p.m. on Fridays.

Texans and visitors have enjoyed the Hill Country experience of Saturday night rodeo action and an open-air dance floor with top country bands — “8 seconds,” miles of “two-steppin” and lifetimes of fun between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Rodeo events include Open Bullriding, Mini Bullriding, Mutton Bustin’, Breakaway, Team Roping and Barrel Racing.

A variety of beer and wine coolers and set ups are available at the café.

Table reservations are available. A table will hold 8-10 people. Reservations are not required but suggested for large groups or groups with elders. It is $20 per table, which does not include gate fees; limit of two tables per party.

The Crider’s experience has aways

appealed to a wide variety of people, which is part of the fun. Families, cowboys, camp counselors, oilmen, groundskeepers, students and teachers have been going to Crider’s for years and the tradition continues.

Crider’s started as a simple 4th of July fundraiser in 1925 when Walter and Audrey Crider hosted a rodeo to benefit the Hunt School PTA — 98 years later Crider’s is still going strong under the ownership of Walter and Audrey’s descendants, Bill and Tracy Moore and their children.

Old Ingram Loop a shopping district

By Irene Van Winkle West Kerr Current It has been a busy year at Old Ingram Loop, with some new stores opening up, a few shut and others changed hands.

Located just west of the Ingram Volunteer Fire Department, there are several stores on Hwy. 39, while the Old Ingram Loop hugs Johnson Creek on the south.

As usual, the loop always holds some surprises, but there are still the favorites that everyone loves.

There has been a bit of remodeling, all for the better, and well worth the visit.

Starting west and down into the Loop is Perfect Surroundings, a boutique at 128 Old Ingram Loop. It is also one of three businesses there, which also includes Maxine’s, a coffee shop housed inside the shop. A third business,

From cabins to ranches: Places for visitors

By Kari Short West Kerr Current For more than 100 years, the North and South Forks of the Guadalupe have been vacation destinations mostly for those “in the know” about the Hill Country’s majestic and tranquil beauty.

Often tourism was the direct result of returning campers or camp families familiar with the area. However, the advent of online platforms for short-term rentals (STRs) opened the door for more people to realize the vast vacation amenities.

With area prices ranging from $55 for a room to literally thousands per night for luxury accommodations, there is truly something for everyone.

“We never had as many rentals as during the pandemic,” said Audrey Land, Key Vacation Rental Manager. Key Vacation Rentals manages 14 STRs. Land has observed that visitors are coming from both in and out of state.

Places Continued from Page 12 While the Hill Country prevails as a vacation destination, according to AirDNA May 2023 statistics, short-term rentals are down this quarter by 4 percent in Hunt and 8 percent in Ingram which promises opportunities for visitors to the area. That decline is only temporary, however, as many of the short-term rentals have already booked for both the 2023 and 2024 eclipses.

With 50 percent occupancy rates, the current average daily rental cost is $278 in Ingram and $384 in Hunt. Prices for the eclipses have been completely market driven, since West Kerr County is considered the epicenter. Both areas have more listings on Airbnb than Vrbo, and about a quarter of the properties list on both platforms.

Jennifer Christensen, co-owner of the family-owned Buckhorn Lake Resort, an upscale RV resort off Goat Creek Road and I-10, said, “Our occupancy is remaining high. We keep wondering when we are going to have a slow season. Covid changed the entire industry.

When people began working remotely, they bought motorhomes. For a while there weren’t even any motorhomes available. People are still traveling, but the length of stay has changed from two or three days to two or three weeks. This is happening across the country.”

HCAF hub of arts, theater and more Besides traditional endeavors such as visual and theatrical arts, the Hill Country Arts Foundation hosts the Texas State Arts & Crafts Fair, the West Kerr Visitors Center, Stonehenge II and the

Celtic Festival and Highland Games.

HCAF is truly the hub of the arts in West Kerr County.

HCAF was founded in 1959 by a group of artists whose goal was to enrich,

educate and enlighten members of the community through the arts. Their efforts have paid off for generations of families and individuals — this year HCAF 4th anniversary.

Hosting a visitors center, where information about local attractions is available, the 13-acre HCAF campus has become an important stop for tourists.

Stonehenge II, a replica of Stonehenge in Salisbury, England, is a very popular attraction for visitors. Stonehenge II is a walk-through piece of art; there also are two Easter Island head sculptures on the grounds. It is open every day and the public is invited to come out and see these sculptures.

The 2023 Texas Arts and Crafts Fair will be Sept. 23-24 on the HCAF grounds.

Since 1972, it has been Texas’ Official State Arts and Crafts Fair. After a hiatus of five years, the state arts festival returned in 2018. The fair is observing its 51st birthday this year. More than 100 artists, exhibitors, musicians, food vendors and demonstrators will sprawl across 13 acres for the state’s “official arts and crafts fair.”

Visitors will be treated to a wide range of arts and crafts exclusively by Texas residents, as well as favorite fair food offerings, entertainment, and related educational and recreational activities.

Located off Hwy. 39 in Ingram where Johnson Creek meets the Guadalupe River, HCAF is home to the outdoor Smith-Ritch Point Theatre, indoor Elizabeth Huth Coates Indoor Theatre and Duncan-

McAshan Visual Arts Center and Gallery.

Visitors are invited to visit the Duncan-McAshan Visual Arts Gallery — which has outside art sculptures — and watch theatrical productions at The Point Theatre (Please see related story).

During the summer months, the outdoor Point Theatre offers live theater under the stars. Situated on the banks of the Guadalupe River, the outdoor theater has been staging high-quality theatrical plays and musicals for both children and adults for more than 50 years.

The Duncan-McAshan Visual Arts Center has exhibitions and workshops scheduled for the summer. A 1,700square-foot gallery, four art studios, a ceramic lab and press studio comprise the Duncan-McAshan Visual Arts Center.

The gallery exhibition schedule includes a full range of art in virtually all media. Exhibitions feature local as well as nationally and internationally recognized artists.

Works of art are available for purchase at most of the shows, and admission to the gallery is free. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

Texas State Parks gateways to outdoors

The grandeur of the American West inspired the concept of national parks as early as 1832 when Artist George Catlin conceived the idea of preserving America’s vast beauty during a trip to the Dakotas.

By 1861, Congress appointed Ferdinand Hayden, head of the government’s new geological survey, to lead a fact-finding expedition to the region at the headwaters of the Yellowstone River.

Hayden advocated for designating the Yellowstone region as a national park, and by 1872 Congress approved the legislation with President Grant allocating 2.2 million acres of land as “a public park or pleasure-ground for the benefit and enjoyment of the people.”

Soon other sites followed: Sequoia and Yosemite. By 1923 when Texas began its own park program, The Daughters of the Republic of Texas had already led the effort to save battleground sites: San Jacinto, Gonzales, Fannin, the Alamo and

Washington-on-the-Brazos.

Governor Pat Neff initiated the program inspired by his mother, Isabella.

They donated land on the Leon River for what would eventually become Mother Neff State Park, often called the first state park.

He appointed a six-person board, and by 1933 the Deal brought in the Civilian Conservation Corps, among others, to build and improve more than 30 parks.

The ’40s saw the parks support the war effort by providing housing, hospital camps and even parties for departing soldiers. The 1960s welcomed a merger with the Game and Fish Commission, forming the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department leading to a master plan by 1975. The rest, as they say, is history.

Today, the 89 current and future Texas state parks include more than 640,200 acres, 1,300 miles of trails, 7,843 overnight sites and 9,700,000 visitors in 2022.

Museum of Western Art celebrates 40 years Contributed by Nancy Foster This year marks a significant milestone for The Museum of Western Art in Kerrville. Its 40 years of existence is celebrated all year with exceptional art exhibitions, special events, workshops and classes the whole family can enjoy.

Over a million visitors have roamed the halls and galleries of MoWA since its doors first opened in April 1983.

Opened as the Cowboy Artists of America Museum, this was the brainchild of a group of western artists from Sedona, Ariz. that recognized the important role western art could take in capturing and preserving the colorful saga of the old west. In 2003, following a change in structure, the CA Museum became the Museum of Western Art. Today, MoWA is thriving and is globally recognized. True West Magazine ranked it in the Top 10 Leading Western Museums in the U.S. for two years in a row and it has been recognized as Kerrville’s top tourist attraction.

Why? Partly because of the facility itself, which was the final work of wellknown Texas architect O’Neil Ford.

Featuring a bold, hacienda-type exterior, an interior with 23 handcrafted Boveda ceilings, floors of end-cut mesquite and Saltillo tile, and expansive grounds that overlook the city, MoWA is an impressive architectural wonder.

Its multiple galleries contain artworks from leading western artists of the current and last centuries, a collection of western

artifacts including an 1800s Studebaker chuckwagon, a late 1800s Wooton Secretary Desk, and an extensive collection of vintage saddles.

Massive bronzes dot the manicured grounds, including two recent acquisitions lent by the City of Kerrville.

Winning the Iron Shirt by Fritz White towers 22 feet high and overlooks all of Kerrville, and Thanks for the Rain by Joe Beeler is near the entranceway. Both are highly photographed.

Art and exhibitions On display until July 8 is Forty Years of Western Art, a collection of 85 paintings and bronzes from artists highly recognized for their contributions to the western art genre.

Paintings never seen out of private collections, some lent by museums around the country and others in the museum’s permanent collection grace its walls and public spaces.

Following 40 Years of Western Art will be the fascinating Billy Schenck: Mystic Vision of the West, showing from July 15-Sept. 2. Schenck was a pioneer in the Contemporary Art Movement in the ’70s and one of just a few artists offering an alternative viewpoint in the Western genre.

MoWA’s major fundraiser of the year will be the 40th Annual Roundup Exhibition and Sale which kicks off with special weekend events Sept. 8 and 9 and runs through Oct. 28. This juried show See MOWA, Page 21

Fires & floods: Enjoy West Kerr safely

Nothing beats Hill Country stargazing while seated around a glowing campfire, but with the recent drought, visitors are advised to increase fire prevention awareness.

According to the Texas Forest Service, “People and their actions cause over 90 percent of all wildfires in Texas.” That precedent coupled with the recent extreme drought in Kerr County resulted in a record number of fire calls in 2022 for many of the volunteer fire departments.

According to the Headwaters Groundwater Conservation District literature, the 30-year average rainfall from January through the end of June 2022 was 15.83 inches. The amount of rainfall for the same period in 2022 was 4.79 inches.

“Consequently, open air campfires aren’t really recommended,” said Brien Alexander, president of Kerr Area Rural Fire Association and Chief of the Mountain Home Volunteer Fire Department. “A campfire that is built in an enclosed fixture with a grate for cooking is best.

“Fully extinguish a fire with water,

dirt or sand before leaving the fire unattended,” said Alexander.

Douse the fire completely, then mix remaining ashes and repeat the process until the fire is completely out. Don’t stand over or downhill from the fire as you extinguish it to keep from inhaling smoke. If rocks surround the campfire, they will be cool to the touch when the fire is out.”

The state and a number of agencies offer guidance regarding fires. For example, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality through the Outdoor Burning Rule regulates how outdoor burning may impact air quality.

Usually, these rules address domestic and plant waste. Local and county burn ban restrictions are the primary guidelines for homeowners, rural residents and weekend visitors in Texas counties.

“The good thing about Kerr County,” said Precinct 4 County Commissioner Don Harris, “is that burn bans can be issued by the associated precinct commissioner. Burn bans are not always county-wide.”

In the case of West Kerr County, which is precinct 4, Harris consults with each of the volunteer fire department chiefs before issuing a burn ban. Texas empowered counties with the right to

issue burn bans in HB 2620 in 1999. The order must specify the period during which burning is prohibited up to a maximum of 90 days.

Previous bans were based on the Texas Disaster Act of 1975 which required a disaster declaration. Violations under the Disaster Act may result in a fine up to $1,000 or a jail term up to 180 days. If HB 2620 is violated, it is considered a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine up to $500.

To determine if a ban is in place, the Ingram VFD on Hwy. 39 maintains a sign in front of the department to alert passersby if the burn ban is on or off. Or, people may call 830-792-HEAT for an update.

Other agencies which offer notifications are the National Weather Service and the Texas Forest Service.

The NWS will issue fire weather watches and Red Flag Warnings, up to 72 hours in advance, if conditions occur that may increase the risk of wildfires.

“For a Red Flag Warning to be issued, predicted afternoon and evening relative humidity levels are expected to fall to 25

percent or lower, sustained winds at 20 feet above the ground are expected to exceed 15 miles per hours for at least two hours, and high fire danger is in place,” according to the Texas Forest Service.

Similarly, the NWS provides alerts for flooding which is a potential danger in the Texas Hill Country.

“Be alert if you are close to the river, and never drive around a barricade,” said Alexander. “The Hill Country is prone to flash floods. It may not even be raining where you are downstream; but if the headwaters receive a sudden rainfall, a wall of water could be headed downstream.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention state that over half of all flood-related drownings occur when a vehicle is driven into flood water followed closely by people walking into floodwaters. Six inches of fast-moving water can knock over an adult, and 12 inches can carry a car away. The best rule to follow is Turn Around Don’t Drown.

Kerrville Folk Festival: 18 days of ‘concerts & camping’ opens May 25 The Kerrville Folk Festival, the longrunning internationally-recognized event, begins its 51st gathering on Thursday, May 25, with 18 days of “concerts and camping in the beautiful Texas Hill Country,” at Quiet Valley Ranch, 3876 Medina Hwy., 9 miles south of Kerrville.

Over the subsequent course of 18 days and evenings, music fans will have the opportunity to hear more than 70 artists and acts on several stages in an informal outdoor setting.

The event draws music fans from around the world, many who line up for “land rush,” starting the Saturday before, where they stake claim to their campground. The festival also welcomes day visitors who want to attend a specific performance.

This year, organizers are making an effort to invite local and area residents to visit the venue located in their backyard, according to Mary Muse, a long-time participant who has served as executive director for the past eight years.

“We especially would like to welcome area residents to come out to the festival so they can see why Kerrville has become a pilgrimage for so many performing songwriters,” said Muse, noting that the foundation provides local events including Music at the Mansion and Music Camp for Teens. “Once again we are focused on nurturing and developing artistic expression, especially the art of songwriting.”

To that end, the festival is providing complimentary tickets for opening night, Thursday, May 25. Tickets are available at several Kerr-area businesses. The show begins at 7 p.m. with a line-up that

Throughout the event, 24 finalists of the Grassy Hill New Folk Songwriting Competition, selected from over 900 entries, will join the ranks of finalists from the past 50 years. Some of those past winners, many who got their first notable exposure at the festival, include Lyle Lovett, Robert Earl Keen, Nanci Griffith, Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, Adrianne Lenker and Anais Mitchell, composer of Broadway’s Tony and Grammy-winning Best Musical “Hadestown,” who is returning to Kerrville to perform the evening of May 27.

Numerous venues are featuring musicians of every type, from solo artists to large bands. From wine bars and beer joints to wineries and rodeo arenas, the array of musical entertainment will provide a diverse assortment.

Close to the downtown Ingram area are a couple of venues where smaller bands generally perform.

Down on the Loop — A new addition to the loop at the western end, featuring a nice garden with benches and fire pits.

Serving beer and wine, including food trucks. Friendly staff, nice ambience.

Open Thursday-Saturday, 5-10 p.m. and for private events on Sundays.

Cailloux Center a destination for entertainment Visitors to Kerr County, a seemingly sedate part of the beautiful Texas Hill Country, are often surprised by the vitality of the area’s arts scene. Among the highlights is the impressive Kathleen C. Cailloux City Center for the Performing Arts in the heart of Downtown Kerrville.

The Cailloux City Center, located at 910 Main St., is sought out by visitors from miles in each direction for its high caliber offerings in dance, theater and music of all kinds.

Its two performing spaces, the lavish Cailloux Theater and the intimate VK Garage Theater, are busy most weekends, featuring everything from local school concerts to national touring artists, including the resident Symphony of the Hills and The Cailloux Performances series of outstanding events.

The complex is managed, on behalf of The City of Kerrville, by Playhouse 2000, Inc., which also serves as the resident theatrical presenter and Kerrville’s Community Theater.

In 2023, the summer concert calendar will kick off on Memorial Weekend with a visit by the newest member of the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, traditional Country star Moe Bandy, on Friday, May 26 at 7:30.

This will be followed by the return of the famous Sentimental Journey Orchestra and their “Memorial Memories” tribute to the Big Bands of the 1940’s and “the songs that got us through World War II” on Sunday, May 28 at 3.

Playhouse 2000 will offer two events in June. Their annual “Shakespeare In The Park” production, presented in cooperation with The City of Kerrville’s Parks and Recreation Department, will bring the bard’s best-known history play,

Playhouse 2000 will be on the big Cailloux Theater stage in August with the fourth in their series of mysteries by the queen of the thriller, Agatha Christie.

This year’s title is “A Murder Is Announced,” featuring Christie’s beloved sleuth “Miss Marple.” The show runs Aug. 4 through 20.

On Aug. 26, Chicago-based “ ’80s Night Out” will return to The Cailloux Theater stage to celebrate the ladies of ’80s Rock and Roll. Two powerhouse vocalists will front a four-piece band and pay tribute to the decade’s women of Rock with hits like “Flashdance (What a Feeling),” “Love is a Battlefield,” “Material Girl,” “How Will I Know” and many more. Showtime is 7:30.

Summer will begin to wind down at The Cailloux City Center in September, but not before two more amazing artists round out the season.

Randy Rogers to headline 4th on the River Kerrville’s Fourth on the River 2023 concert lineup has been announced by Arcadia Live, with the Randy Rogers Band headlining.

The annual Fourth of July Celebration will be in Louise Hays Park in Kerrville.

This Independence Day celebration includes of a concert, vendors and the largest fireworks display in the Hill Country.

For more than two decades Randy Rogers Band has brought the Texas Country tradition to a dedicated fanbase around the nation and beyond.

Opening acts are Grammy award winners Los Texmaniacs with Flaco Jiménez and Texas Country rising star Allie Colleen.
