Curious About Credit Transfer?
Transfer students with fewer than 24 college credits will be considered first-year students for scholarship purposes and will be awarded based off the eligibility requirements for either a first-year students from Colorado or for a non-resident first-year student. Additionally, they must have a minimum 2.5 college GPA.

If you have less than 24 credit hours completed at the time of application, you must send your official, final high school transcript to Western. Dual enrollment, concurrent enrollment and AP/IB credits taken during high school are not counted in the credit hour total.
Meet Steve Otero As an Air Force veteran looking to further his education after serving 12 years, including combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, Steve Otero wasn’t sure a traditional university was right for him. “I was admittedly afraid of going to a [campus-based] university. However, after speaking with a number of professors on campus, I decided to take the leap and go to school in person rather than online,” Steve said.

“The professors are truly investing in me and my future success.” After entering Western with a number of transfer credits from his time in the Air Force, Steve decided to double major in Psychology and Recreation & Outdoor Education paired with a minor in Exercise & Sport Science.
