HSI Making Conexiones

This two-week residential program is designed to help students build the skills needed to succeed in college-level writing and math. Participate in academic sessions in small groups, academic activities, workshops and social events!

Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI)

WOU was the first public university in Oregon to be named an emerging HSI. But how is being a HSI good for you? HSIs are recognized to have supportive environments that promote inclusivity and diversity. Latino students report to feel more comfortable in their academic setting and get the support they need to succeed. It also helps to promote cross-cultural understanding between all students.

Campus

The MI Trolley

The cities of Monmouth and Independence received funding to implement a free trolley service. State legislators provided grant funds to support a local transit service that links Independence, Monmouth, and our campus.

The trolleys are low-emission hybrid gas-electric vehicles. The routes run every 15-20 minutes from the campus stop (next to the Natural Sciences building on Jackson St.) to Riverview Park in Independence. Each trolley is equipped with front bike racks.
