Section Overview About Western New York PGA
Approximately 300 PGA Professionals and Associates serving over 100 golf facilities across Western NY. Section covers twenty-one counties throughout Buffalo, Rochester and Northwest Pennsylvania. Also operates PGA REACH WNY Foundation, a 501 c(3) that supports a robust junior program, veterans and diverse populations. Close affiliation with PGA of America as well as clubs and professionals that help us to create custom partnerships.

Section History HISTORY When the PGA of America was formed right here in New York in 1916, they never dreamed of one day the Association they were creating would grow to 29,000 PGA Members and Associates Nationwide. At the very forefront of the PGA of America both then and today, is the Western New York Section. The PGA of America is divided into 41 Geographical Sections across the United States. The leadership, passion, professionalism and quality that has become synonymous with the Western New York Section PGA Programs elevate the Association to a position of prominence both in the local golf community and its national counterparts. For the Western New York PGA Professional, “Growing the Game� is a commitment day-in and day-out. The PGA REACH WNY Foundation is our vehicle to carry out the mission to promote the goodwill and growth of the game of golf by positively impacting the lives of junior golfers, veterans, and those who are underserved by the game. We accomplish this by focusing our efforts under three founding pillars: Youth Golf, Military, and Diversity and Inclusion. Much of the success of the PGA and its Foundation is due to its location in the golfing community. With Rochester in our backyard, we have had the great fortune of helping to conduct numerous US Opens, PGA Championships, Senior PGA Championships and a Ryder Cup at Oak Hill Country Club. The next seven years are going to be an exciting time for golf in the Western New York Section as Oak Hill will play host to the 2019 Senior PGA Championship and the 2023 PGA Championship. In addition to that, the Western New York Section will celebrate its centennial in 2025. As a not-for-profit organization, the Western New York Section is proud to continue to partner with some of the most influential and community oriented companies in the region. Our partnerships not only allow us to grow our community initiatives such as PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), and our junior golf programs; but they also help to promote the various tournaments that our PGA Professionals participate in. In return, our partners receive valuable, direct exposure to hundreds of PGA Professionals, amateur golfers, veterans, families, and influential individuals throughout the Western New York area golf community.

Community Impact Because we serve both the Professional Association Member as well as youth, military and diverse populations, we are uniquely positioned to provide you with opportunities for both corporate entertainment through PGA Experiences and a chance to be involved in a large scale charitable effort or a variety of other opportunities including: Pro-Am Charitable Contributions Similar to the PGA Tour, the Western New York Section focuses on giving back to the community through tournaments. In 2018, WNYPGA Professionals conducted and competed in thirteen Pro-Am Tournaments throughout the summer. In total, these Pro-Am events raised just under $300,000 for local charities.
WNYPGA Junior Tour
PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) The program includes a working partnership with VA Hospitals, introducing veterans to the sport of golf, golf instruction, playing opportunities and social events – using golf as an activity to assist veterans with their progress in rehab along with helping them to assimilate and mainstream with their families and into their communities and into life. In 2018, we provided a job opportunity to a veteran at a local golf course.
PGA Junior League PGA Jr. League is a fun, social and inclusive opportunity for boys and girls to learn and enjoy the game of golf. Much like other recreational league sports, participants wear numbered jerseys and play on teams with their friends. In 2018, the PGA REACH Foundation sponsored local First Tee of WNY Team who otherwise may have not have had the opportunity to compete for financial reasons

Partnership Opportunity The Western New York PGA Partnership Program provides companies with a vehicle to promote their product. By becoming a Partner, you will raise PGA Professionals’ awareness of your product and programs, all while supporting the Section’s most important initiatives. The funding provided to the Section through the Partnership directly benefits our educational programs, public relations, tournament opportunities, player development, and growth of the game initiatives.

Identification in online PGA Member Newsletter year round and highlighted as a featured partner one month out of the year . 2019 Senior PGA Champ 2019 Senior PGA Championship at Oak Hill CC The PGA of America announced that Oak Hill Country Club in Pittsford, New York, will host the 80th KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in 2019. In 2019, we will have an opportunity for companies to donate $2,000 to the PGA REACH WNY Foundation; charitable arm of the Western New York Section. With this donation you will be afforded the opportunity to play a Championship Venue the day after the Championship Proper! Total package includes—
