PROPOSED 2025 RATE ADJUSTMENT ENSURING RELIABLE WATER FOR EVERY MOMENT

Water fuels every moment of daily life—from the coffee you brew in the morning to the firefighters protecting your neighborhood. However, delivering high-quality, reliable water takes constant investment. To continue securing and maintaining this essential service, Western Water is proposing a four-year rate program that includes annual rate increases on July 1 of each year from 2025 through 2028. These gradual adjustments will help us plan for the future and avoid sudden, higher rate increases.

WHAT THE PROPOSAL MEANS FOR YOU

Western Water is in the early stages of the rate-setting process, and the Board of Directors will carefully review costs, hold public workshops, and gather community input before making any decisions at a public hearing to be scheduled. Final rates have not yet been determined.

WHY ARE RATES CHANGING?

Regardless of how much water customers use, essential expenses such as energy, materials, and water treatment, continue to rise due to inflation. Additionally, our water supplier, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD), faces similar cost increases to sustain and manage its system. Just like you have experienced inflation in your daily life, every step of delivering water—from sourcing and treatment to distribution—has become more expensive, making rate adjustments necessary to keep up with these rising costs.

These resources are essential to ensuring you receive clean, reliable water exactly when you need it. Investing in system upkeep today helps prevent costly emergencies down the road and ensures we can continue delivering water for every moment.
