THIS TUESDAY!! MOANA PASIFIKA RESCHEDULED game
The Western Force will now play two games during the week of Round 15 with the resheduled game against Moana Pasifika kicking off at 3pm on May 24 at Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland. This comes after it was originally slated for Super Round, before the WA-based club were gutted as a result of COVID. At the time, the Western Force had medically reported considerable numbers of cases within the squad, which under Rugby Australia protocols means they are not available for selection As a result, the game will now be played as part of the final round of the Super Rugby Pacific regular season, kicking off proceedings on Tuesday before the Force return home to face the Hurricanes on May 28.

LETTER
FROM THE CEO There are three things we all should do every day. Firstly, number one is laugh. Secondly is to think, we must spend some time in thought to reflect. Finally, we should be emotional about the game of rugby, and our team the Western Force. If we do that each day, we are going to have something special. Last Friday night, I personally celebrated with a smile and a laugh at the superb personal performance of Ollie Callan in the first half of the game with the Highlanders. Ollie is a homegrown talent from WA, and to win the Force man of the match after only one half of rugby illustrates what a dominant display he produced. Then I spent the rest of the night thinking about how many more Ollie Callan’s are out there in WA community rugby. With the Force Fortescue Academy, our goal is to consistently develop WA players into Super Rugby players playing for the Western Force. Then there’s the emotion of Jackson Pugh’s selection to represent the Western Force against the Chiefs this weekend. It’s fantastic to see
yet another great homegrown talent earning his first start for the club, one he has supported since he was a child. Rugby is the game played in heaven, and we have to make this special in WA for our Members and fans. See you all next Saturday for our final home game of the season, and to celebrate Member Recognition Round!

THE LEGENDS David Pocock
With one of the finest resumes you’ll ever see, including 69 caps for the club and 83 Tests for the Wallabies, David Pocock is a true Western Force legend. Born in Zimbabwe, Pocock and his family moved to Australia in 2001. After winning a premiership alongside Quade Cooper with the Anglican Church Grammar School in Brisbane in 2005, Pocock was selected in the Australian Schoolboys team. The dominant flanker then signed for the Force to join the inaugural squad in 2006 and made his debut in Durban against the Sharks. Pocock became a crucial figure for the Force in his seven seasons with the club and was named captain ahead of the 2012 Super Rugby campaign. Pocock enjoyed a meteoric rise to the international rugby scene, with his sheer power, technical ability, and strength over the ball for the Force earning him a 12
Wallabies debut in 2008 against the All Blacks in Hong Kong. He would go on to enjoy an illustrious Wallabies career, winning the John Eales Medal twice (2010, 2018), playing in three World Cup’s (2011, 2015, 2019), captaining the side in 2012, among many more outstanding achievements. Pocock is also an environmental activist and philanthropist, having founded Eightytwenty Vision, a not-for-profit organisation aimed at helping those less fortunate in Zimbabwe. Pocock has moved into politics since retiring in 2019 and is currently running as an Independent Senate candidate in the ACT.
