LETTER

FROM THE CEO Dear Western Force Members, Supporters, and Family, Firstly, thank you all so much for helping us celebrate the history of rugby in WA last Friday against the Brumbies back on home soil. To see so many legends of the game in their state jerseys and to catch up with the Old Gold was special. While we are all disappointed we did not get the win after a spirited fightback, there is no denying that was a top-class game of rugby and there are so many positives to take from the match to reflect on in the bye week for the Super Rugby Pacific squad. All focus turns to our Super W side this week, with the team on the hunt for their first win of the season against the Brumbies at Viking Park in the capital on Sunday.

Fijiana Drua away from home to a string of debuts for homegrown players, it has been a hugely significant campaign.

This is just the start for our women’s side, and we cannot wait to see them continue to do us proud for the remainder of the season. At next week’s game I will be doing a Q&A at the Members Marquee and at the SRG Clubhouse, so be sure to come down to ask a few questions. We are the Leading Force!

This group has embodied the Western Force ethos throughout their campaign so far. In each game the women have played with exemplary resilience, character, and determination. From pushing the four-time reigning champion Waratahs for the full 80 minutes and scoring the most points against the current league-leading

Anthony J Lewis CEO, Western Force 3

MATCH PREVIEW

The Rugby Wrap podcast, hosted by Mitch Hardy, Heath Tessmann and Mick Colliss The Western Force Super W head to the nation’s capital this week in a must win clash against the Brumbies Women. Although the Western Force sit on the bottom of the ladder after three matches it underrepresents their performances so far in the 2022 competition. The ACT Brumbies sit ahead of the Force from their draw in Round 2 against the Melbourne Rebels — and have had narrow defeats against the ladder leaders. Both teams are coming off fresh from their rest week of the competition and the Western Force will be at pretty much full strength. Training has been going well according to young gun Kiera Mackaskill, and she is looking to cross the chalk this week for her first try of the competition.

The Western Force forwards will have to lay a good platform from set piece for the fleet footed Force backs to do their thing and put the pressure on the Brumbies through the scoreboard. The Force is always in the game and in all matches have shown fight right to the final whistle, so we expect it to be no different this week. Score Predictor: Force 18 v Brumbies 16
