Food donations now welcome

WITH the festive season fast approaching, and many families across the district currently struggling to make ends meet, a food drive has this week been set up at Gateway Plaza.

The plaza, in conjunction with Western District Foodshare, is encouraging all shoppers who are able to spare some extra

food supplies, to make a donation.

Donations of pasta, canned food, breakfast spreads, rice, healthy cereals and UHT milk would all be appreciated. The food drive will run from October 4-10 and all donations can be left at the designated ‘drop point’ in the food court (near Boost Juice).

MOYNE Shire Council has endorsed new unit prices for services delivered under the Support at Home program, to take effect from November 1, 2025.

The changes are required as part of the Commonwealth Government’s new Aged Care Act, which will transition the existing Home Care Package program to the new Support at Home program.

Moyne Shire mayor Cr Karen Foster said the reforms represent a significant shift in how services are funded and delivered.

“These are Commonwealth-led changes, and all councils and providers across Australia must adapt,” she said.

“Importantly, these changes are designed to ensure the sustainability of home care services for the long-term.”

Under the new framework, all service delivery costs, including business overheads, must be built into the hourly or per-unit price.

This replaces the previous system where providers could recover some of these costs through a 15 per cent package management fee.

Council’s review found that its current unit prices are well below national benchmarks

and do not reflect the true cost of delivering services.

For example, domestic assistance is currently charged at $60 per hour in Moyne, compared to a national median of $95.

“Council has worked closely with financial experts and the Service Development Assistance Panel to analyse the impacts and determine the fairest approach,” Cr Foster said.

“Aligning our pricing with national medians ensures that we can continue to deliver high-quality services without shifting the cost burden onto ratepayers.”

The changes do not represent direct outof-pocket expenses for clients who have been with Moyne prior to September 12, 2024.

Costs are deducted from clients’ care packages, which are funded by the Commonwealth Government and administered by Services Australia.

The change in pricing may mean some adjustment to ensure clients receive the care they need.

Care Partners will continue to review care plans and support clients to seek higherlevel packages if required.

Price changes for ‘Support at Home’

The reforms also introduce client contributions for individuals who entered the program from September 12, 2024.

Contributions will be means tested and applied as a percentage of the service price.

However, existing clients with packages prior to that date will be protected under a ‘no worse off’ arrangement and will not be required to contribute.

“We want to reassure our community that support will be in place for anyone experiencing hardship, and our Care Partners will work directly with clients to minimise any impacts,” Cr Foster said.

Aligning prices with national medians ensures council can continue to provide valued home care services into the future.

“Home care services play a vital role in keeping people well, connected and living independently at home for longer,” Cr Foster said.

“Let’s remember, these are often some of our most vulnerable residents.

“By making these necessary changes, we are safeguarding the future of these services for our ageing community.”

Clients will be contacted directly by council staff to explain the changes and provide tailored support.

Sarah Porter from Gateway Plaza (right) is hoping local shoppers will support this month’s food drive.

Work begins on new pump track

WORK has begun on the construction of Warrnambool’s very first pump track.

The track, located near the former YMCA site on Queens Road, is a circuit with hills, berms and jumps.

Pump tracks are designed to be used by bikes, skateboards and scooters, with riders generating momentum using body movements rather than pedalling or pushing.

The project was identified in the South of Merri Open Space Precinct Plan and has been funded through a $150,000 grant from the Victorian Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.

Warrnambool City mayor Cr Ben Blain said he was excited to see work continuing on bringing the plan to life.

“Pump tracks are becoming more and more popular across Australia and it’s really positive to be able to bring one to Warrnambool,” he said.

“It’s something that older kids will have a lot of fun with, but really, looking at other locations they’re popular with younger kids and even adults too.”

The new track will be located near the former site of the BMX track.

“The track will be in a section of the northern car park area so there will still be plenty of parking, and also room to expand the track in the future as funding allows,” Cr Blain said.

“Looking ahead, the South of Merri Plan identifies a park and a fenced, off-lead dog park so this is really the first step in creating a new hub for recreation in this part of Warrnambool and making the most of the former YMCA site.”

The new pump track is expected to open in time for the busy summer holiday period.

Connecting communities

WITH mental health at the forefront of farming communities across the district, a special ‘Rural Voices: Connecting Communities in the Great South Coast’ has been planned for next month.

The informative and entertaining free session will be held at the Lighthouse Theatre in Warrnambool on Friday, October 10.

Comedian, broadcaster and presenter Dave Hughes will be MC for the event.

He will be joined on stage by special guests Wayne Schwass (mental health advocate, storyteller and founder of PukaUp) and entrepreneur, advocate and film maker Leila McDougall. To register for your free ticket simply visit lighthousetheatre. com.au/rural-voices or book directly with Lighthouse Theatre on 5559 4999 or email lighthouse@warrnambool.com.au

The session will run from 9.30am-1pm. Light refreshments will be provided after the event.

Koroit Theatre opportunities unveiled

MOYNE Shire Council has outlined a series of opportunities and recommendations for the future use of the historic Koroit Theatre.

The suggestions come following the completion of a detailed assessment and community engagement process.

The report, presented to council late last month, highlighted the theatre’s cultural significance and its potential to serve as a central hub for arts, events and community activity both in Koroit and across the shire.

Moyne mayor Cr Karen Foster said the report recognised both the challenges and opportunities for the theatre and provided clear direction for its sustainable future.

“The Koroit Theatre is an important piece of our community’s history and identity, but it also has the potential to play a much bigger role in supporting our creative industries, tourism and local economy,” Cr Foster said.

“Council has listened closely to the community and considered professional advice on the building’s condition and potential uses.

“The recommendations give us a pathway to secure investment across future years and to activate the theatre for a wider range of events.”

Cr Foster said council hoped the theatre remained a vibrant and accessible asset for future generations.

Key recommendations from the report included developing a staged plan for building upgrades and accessibility improvements; establishing a governance and management model that supported strong community involvement; and exploring partnerships with arts organisations, event promoters and

tourism bodies to broaden use of the space.

The report also recommended seeking external funding opportunities to reduce the financial burden on ratepayers.

“The report also identified opportunities for the theatre to complement other venues across the shire, offering a unique, mid-sized performance and events space that can host theatre, live music, film,

Oktoberfest at Noodledoof

FOR a great day out this weekend, head to Noodledoof in Koroit and join the Oktoberfest celebrations.

Noodles and Doof have been busy brewing all your favourite German-style beers for the occasion.

Why not drop in with some friends and pick up a limited edition Noodledoof halflitre beer stein for just $15 or $25 for a onelitre stein (both sizes include your first fill)?

These not only make great drinking glasses, but also lasting reminders of what will no doubt be a great day of German-style

music, fun, food and laughter.

Games will be speckled throughout the day as well as prizes for the best dressed – so get out your best Dirndl (lace-front dress) or Lederhosen (leather shorts with suspenders), pull on your dancing shoes and head to Koroit.

The Oktoberfest celebrations will kick off at Noodledoof from 2pm tomorrow (Saturday) and will run through until about 9pm.

community celebrations and more,” Cr Foster said.

“Council’s priority is to ensure the theatre continues to serve the community while realising its potential as a driver of cultural and economic activity.

“Koroit has a proud reputation as a strong and creative community. Revitalising the theatre will not only preserve a heritage building but will also provide new

opportunities for people to come together, experience live performance, and attract visitors to our town.”

Council will now work with community groups, potential partners and funding bodies to progress these recommendations.

“This is an exciting step in breathing new life into one of our shire’s most loved venues.”

The future of the Koroit Theatre looks strong, with a report outlining recommendations for its use and sustainability.

Board game inspires local artist

LOCAL artist Billy Earnshaw has managed to combine his love of painting and ‘all things Warrnambool’ with the popular game board, Monopoly.

A giant board, carefully designed and intricately painted by Billy, features many of Warrnambool’s popular landmarks and events, both past and present.

“This board, well actually there’s four boards that make up the one large one, depicts all that is great about Warrnambool, both past and present,” Billy said.

“It took quite a lot of thought and about four months to complete – I worked on it on the kitchen table in between shifts as a community health nurse.”

The board (or rather, four of them; each measuring about a metre square) pays homage to the likes of the Southern Right Whale, Jericho Cup, Maremmas, local service clubs, Melbourne-Warrnambool Cycling Classic, Sprintcars, Mozart Hall, Kermond’s and the Fletcher Jones Silver Ball.

“There are so many things that are synonymous with Warrnambool; I couldn’t include them all but I hope I’ve given a good even spread.

“I feel the colours I’ve used are vibrant and happy and hope that people feel the same sense of happiness and pride I do when they see this.”

The idea to create a magical piece of artwork, based on the Monopoly board game, came about during the COVID period when Billy was searching for a creative outlet and a novel gift idea for friends who were about to celebrate milestone birthdays.

“I’ve always had a love of music and during the onset of COVID restrictions I began painting boards that focussed on musical themes,” Billy said.

“After that I painted boards for friends as birthday gifts; I spoke to their family and friends and used those conversations as the basis for points of interest on their boards – such as childhood memories,

jobs, schools, places of birth.

“They absolutely loved them and after making half a dozen or so I then did one for the Koroit Festival which turned out quite well, before beginning this most recent one

on Warrnambool.”

While this Warrnambool board currently hangs pride of place in Billy’s

home, its future location is yet to be decided.

Don’t miss the Warrnambool Show

WITH all day live music, rides, a mini zoo, stockman show and loads of amusements and food stalls, this year’s Warrnambool Show once again looks set to be a great day out for all ages.

Organisers of the 170th Warrnambool Show, to be held on Saturday, October 25, have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure there will be plenty to see and do. As well as the traditional sideshow alley, rides, showbags and food vans, this year’s event will see the return of Willow and Saige and ‘The Enchanted Experience.’

This was an extremely popular attraction in 2024 and with even bigger and better things planned this year, children from as young as three will enjoy some magical, free activities throughout the day.

This includes potion and wand making, sparkles and temporary tattoos, witches brew tea blending, make your own bath salts, tarot card making, a rock garden and wishing well for charity.

Outback Jack’s ‘A Cracker of a Show’ will feature the skills of the Australian stockman, with some comedy thrown in – performances have been scheduled at various times during the day, with the main show from 8pm on the arena.

Hoop Sparx will return with her amazing hoops and circus fun, and free face painting will add a splash of colour to the showgrounds.

An animal nursery, Fun Farm 2 U and Fair Dinkum Fauna will keep visitors entertained, along with a new Needle in a Haystack game.

Local community displays will be a highlight of this year’s show and visitors will once again be able to enjoy a display by the Warrnambool Model Railway Club.

For the first time, the Hamilton Medieval Re-enactment Society and South Western District Restoration Group (historical machinery, tractors etc) will also attend the show.

One highlight from the 2024 show, the shearing section, proved very popular and stewards are expecting to build on this in 2025.

With so much to see and do at the 170th Warrnambool Show, this is an event not to be missed.

Grace impresses in Malaysia

WARRNAMBOOL’S Grace Davey has brought home two awards from the recent BPW (Business and Professional Women) Asia Pacific Regional Conference in Malaysia.

Grace, who works at Wannon Water, attended the three-day conference which followed the theme of ‘Democracy, Dialogue, Direction.’

The conference brought together over 200 women from 28 countries, all focused on shaping a more inclusive and forwardthinking future.

Grace was announced the winner in two categories, which recognised her STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) skills and her efforts to empower young women.

The first was the BPW Asia Pacific Women Science and Technology Award, recognising her contribution to the science and technology sector.

The second award, the BPW Asia Pacific Young Members Creative Challenge Award, recognised her creativity in expressing how BPW empowers young women in their communities.

BPW South West president Mel Curtis said Grace was a positive example of the values that BPW South West promotes.

“We are enormously proud of Grace for the way she uses her skills and experiences for the betterment of young women in the south west region,” Ms Curtis said.

Wannon Water managing director, Steve Waterhouse said Grace’s achievements recognise her outstanding technical expertise and genuine passion for our community.

“Through her work at Wannon Water, Grace is helping shape the future of essential water and sewerage services

in our region, while inspiring the next generation of young women to see what’s possible in STEM,” Mr Waterhouse said.

Recalling moments from her overseas trip, Grace said one story that stood out during the experience came from a fellow attendee.

“Despite women making up 56 per cent of university graduates, only 14 per cent of women over 15 are part of the workforce,” Grace said.

“It was a reminder of how different the barriers can be globally, and how fortunate we are in Australia to have access to education, career pathways, and the freedom to choose our own direction.’

Holiday Actors find perfect Juliet

HOLIDAY Actors has announced their summer production of the hit musical, ‘& Juliet,’ will take to the stage at Lighthouse Theatre from January 3-10.

Casting has recently been completed and rehearsals are now underway.

The story imagines an alternate ending to Shakespeare’s classic Romeo & Juliet, where Juliet survives and charts her own path.

A regular cast member in previous Holiday Actors productions, Arwen Bounds has been chosen to play the titular Juliet.

With six years of experience, this is Arwen’s first leading role.

“The audition process was a little nervewracking, but it’s amazing how supportive everyone is,” she said.

“It’s such a privilege, and I’m excited to connect with an empowering character who goes on such a beautiful journey of discovery.”

Filling out the rest of the principal cast will be Cameron Chuck (Romeo), Calder Nicolson (Shakespeare), Madidi McKenzie

(Anne), Scarlett Mills (Francois), Millicent Lee (Angelique), Zade Matheson (Lance), Mia Copland (May), with Iesha Kenna as Juliet’s understudy/Helena.

Arwen has also taken on duties behind the scenes, stepping into the role of assistant choreographer for the production.

“Getting the opportunity to play a part in developing the creative vision of the show is a dream,” Arwen said.

“I’m so happy to be working alongside such an amazing team.”

The production team includes Ashley Rogers-Brigden (director), Eloise Simpson (choreographer), Beau Nieuwveld (musical director), Maria Carras-Kerr (vocal director), Arwen Bounds (assistant choreographer) and Barton Lowe (technical director).

& Juliet is packed with humour and heart, featuring hits from legendary pop writer Max Martin.

This includes songs made famous by Britney Spears, Katy Perry and the Backstreet Boys.

Tickets will go on sale from October 27 and will be available online and via the Lighthouse Theatre box office.

Council lodges wind farm objection

MOYNE Shire Council has formally lodged an objection to the proposed Swansons Lane Wind Farm planning permit application.

In its objection, the council raised concerns about the project’s location, process and potential impacts.

The proposal, currently on public notice, seeks approval for a five-turbine wind farm – two turbines within Moyne Shire and three within Corangamite Shire – on land around two to three kilometres from Garvoc.

The project would connect into the electrical distribution network via an onsite substation rather than through the transmission network.

Mayor Cr Karen Foster said council’s submission to the state government’s Minister for Planning highlighted a range of issues that did not align with council’s renewable energy policy or the expectations of the community.

“Moyne has long supported renewable energy projects that are well planned, well located and deliver clear benefits to our communities,” Cr Foster said.

“However, this proposal falls well short.

“It is too close to the Garvoc township, located in the heart of highly productive dairy farmland and sits outside the South West Renewable Energy Zone where projects of this scale should be directed.

“Importantly, there has also been a lack of engagement with the community before the application was lodged, which has left people frustrated and uncertain.”

Council’s submission outlined concerns including the proximity of turbines (less than five kilometres from the Garvoc township); the location on highly productive dairy land; the submission is contrary to council’s position on protecting agricultural districts, and lack of detail on community benefit, decommissioning and aviation safety.

The council also objected to the proposal on the grounds that there was incomplete and inconsistent technical reports, particularly traffic and transport assessments; the need for consistent planning approaches for projects both inside and outside Renewable Energy Zones; and uncertainty around the implications of the recently announced

Victorian Transmission Plan (Amendment VC268).

More than 100 community submissions have also been lodged with the Department of Transport and Planning, citing concerns about agriculture, property values, environmental impacts, road safety, construction impacts and amenity issues such as noise, shadow flicker and visual intrusion.

Cr Foster said the scale of community concern reinforced council’s position.

“The community has been clear, this proposal does not meet the mark,” she said.

“Renewable energy is part of our future, but it must not come at the expense of farming or proper planning standards.”

Moyne Shire has joined with Corangamite Shire in submitting a joint Mayoral letter to the Minister for Planning calling for stronger standards and clearer policy direction for renewable energy projects across south-west Victoria.

“Councils and communities need certainty. Projects should only proceed where they are appropriately located, where impacts are properly addressed, and where benefits are shared,” Cr Foster said.

Council’s submission requests clarification from the Department of Transport and Planning on the next steps before the Minister makes a final decision.

Angela Fitzgerald will perform at the charity concert at Frolic Lane this weekend.

Input sought on financial plan

MOYNE Shire Council has endorsed its draft long-term financial plan 2026–2035 and is now welcoming community input.

The draft plan provides a 10-year financial outlook, aligning with the Council Plan 2025–2029 and ensuring council can continue to reliably deliver high-quality services, maintain and renew community assets, and invest in infrastructure while navigating a challenging economic environment.

Moyne mayor Cr Karen Foster said the draft plan demonstrated that council was in a sound financial position but also highlighted areas requiring careful management.

“This plan confirms that Moyne Shire Council remains financially stable, but we are not immune to growing pressures such as increasing costs, capped rates and reliance on recurrent grants,” Cr Foster said.

“The plan gives us a clear and transparent pathway to manage these challenges while continuing to invest in the facilities, services and infrastructure that matter to our community.

“Importantly, we want residents to review the plan and tell us if it reflects their priorities for Moyne’s future.”

Some of the key features of the plan include:

A continued focus on asset renewal, ensuring existing community facilities and infrastructure (including roads, footpaths, bridges and drainage) are well maintained;

Borrowings of $2.4 million in 2026–27 to support major renewal projects;

A balanced approach between renewing existing assets and investing in new works;

Strategic actions to maintain financial sustainability and deliver services within rate cap constraints.

The plan builds on feedback received during consultation for the 2025–26 Budget and Council Plan, which emphasised the importance of looking after existing infrastructure while planning for future growth.

Cr Foster said the exhibition period was an important opportunity for the community to influence council’s long-term decision-making.

“Financial sustainability underpins everything council does,” she said.

“This plan outlines how we will responsibly balance service delivery, capital investment and fiscal responsibility over the next decade.

“By sharing the draft with our community, we are ensuring transparency and giving people the chance to shape the final plan.”

The draft long-term financial plan will be open for feedback for three weeks from September 24, with the final version to be presented for adoption at council’s October 2025 meeting.

The plan can be viewed and commented on at: https://engage.moyne.vic.gov.au/admin/ projects/long-term-financial-plan-2026-2035.

Special milestone for much-loved pet

WHEN it comes to ageing gracefully, ‘Shelley’ the Arabian Riding Pony knows how to do it right.

While the life expectancy of an Arabian riding pony is typically 25 to 30 years, Shelley this week celebrated her 34th birthday – surrounded by her biggest fans.

“We bought Shelley for my daughter Ashlee when she was about 11 and Ashlee is now 21,” Warrnambool’s Lauren Pridmore said.

“With proper care, some of these horses can live into their late 30s or even early 40s so we’re hoping Shelley will be with us for a few more years to come.

“We absolutely love her and my youngest daughter, Charli, is also developing a strong bond.

“Shelley has such a gentle nature and despite her age she could still get up a pace if we took her for a ride.”

Over the years Shelley has patiently taken part in various pony club events and trail rides.

“Several children have learnt to ride on Shelley; she has the perfect nature for that, but these days she’s retired and living her best life at home.

“We all think it’s quite remarkable that she turned 34 this week; it was definitely something to celebrate.”

Shelley the Arabian Riding Pony celebrated her 34th birthday this week and continues to be adored by her owners, Lauren Pridmore of Warrnambool and daughters Ashlee and three year-old Charli, also pictured is Lauren’s mum, Dianne Hoggan.

Numbers at Mortlake decreased significantly. Overall the quality remained consistent across most categories.

Some supplementary-fed cattle particularly in the trade weight classes and among the lighter cattle offered better quality however there was a noticeable tail of lighter conditioned dairy and crossbred cattle.

The bullock offering was similar to previous weeks although there was an increase in manufacturing types.

The cow yarding comprised approximately 80% dairy breeds with only a few heavy weight beef cows available.

Most regular buyers were in attendance for the yarding which included 112 bullocks, 427 trade cattle, 405 cows and 59 grown bulls.

The market was generally firm although slightly softer in places with bullocks and trade cattle easing by 10 to 15c/kg with the very best trade cattle the least affected.

There was continued strong demand for well-bred feeder steers and heifers while manufacturing cattle sold at slightly stronger rates.

Most beef and dairy cows improved by 15 to 30c/kg compared to last week’s softer rates.

Cows returning to the paddock sold at strong levels. Heavy grown bulls were notably dearer rising by 20 to 60c/kg. Bullocks sold to a top of 470c/kg. Better quality trade cattle ranged from 460 to 540c/kg. Heavy beef cows made between 390 and 445c while medium weights sold from 340 to 385c/kg.

Dairy cows particularly those with better coverage ranged from 380 to 420c/kg. Cows returning to the paddock reached a top of 395 c/kg.

Manufacturing steers sold up to 440c/kg. Grown heifers ranged from 420 to 470c and grown steers reached a top of 485c/kg.

Eagles and City Netball

finalists in state awards

WARRNAMBOOL City Netball Association, and the NetSetGo program at North Warrnambool Football Netball Club, have both been nominated as finalists in the 2025 Netball Victoria Community Awards.

Each year the Netball Victoria Community Awards shine a light on the individuals in the netball community who go above and beyond to support the game.

From courtside champions to behind the scenes heroes, this year’s finalists reflect the heart and soul of netball in Victoria. Their dedication, energy and love for the game inspire those around them and help drive a thriving community of more than 117,000 members across the state.

North Warrnambool Eagles Football Netball Club was listed as one of three finalists in the ‘Woolworths NetSetGo Centre of the Year’ category.

Warrnambool City Netball was named a finalist in the ‘Inclusive Netball Community of the Year’ category.

City Netball administrator Marg Morgan said she was absolutely thrilled when she learnt of the nomination earlier this week.

“I scanned through my emails and found one from Netball Victoria which said not only had our association been nominated but we were a finalist in our category,” Marg said.

“I was blown away to think someone in the community felt us worthy of such an award.

“We have a wonderful netball community, not only for our mainstream teams but also for our All Abilities players who are just amazing.

“Our All Abilities team, the Stingers, just go from strength to strength. We’re all about being inclusive and netball at all levels provides platforms for that inclusion which is wonderful.”

The Stingers train regularly at the Warrnambool stadium from March through to November and compete at various tournaments and levels.

“This year we went to the association championships and finished second overall; we’ve also won and been placed in the top three for the past four or five years at the state titles which is incredible.”

The Stingers will compete in this weekend’s Special Olympics Victoria State Games at Selkirk Stadium in Ballarat.

The event will bring together hundreds of athletes, coaches, supporters and families, promoting inclusion and sportsmanship among individuals with intellectual disabilities.

* The winners of all categories will be revealed at the Netball Victoria Awards on Sunday, October 19.

Elite basketballers in town

BENDIGO Spirit is in Warrnambool this week as apart of a high-energy preseason tour.

The team brings elite basketball, community engagement and regional connection to the state’s south-west with a series of high performance training, grassroots clinics and a pre-season clash against the Geelong Venom.

“We’re thrilled to bring the Spirit to Warrnambool,” general manager, Dan Jackson said.

“This trip is about more than just basketball; it’s about connecting with the community, inspiring the next generation and showcasing the professionalism of

our program across regional Victoria.” Jackson also said the tour would showcase the town of Warrnambool.

“This trip is also about having our team and fans visit and experience a regional town like Warrnambool, with so much charm.”

A high performance training session was held last night (Thursday) at Emmanuel College.

The team will also host a special school holiday camp today (Friday) at the Warrnambool Basketball Stadium from 4pm-5.30pm.

This fun and interactive clinic will give ‘young hoopers’ the chance to learn from the pros.

To register for the clinic simply head to https://www.playhq.com/basketballvictoria/register/7b7158

A coaches clinic will run at the stadium tomorrow (Saturday) from 10.30am11.30am; giving local coaches the opportunity gain valuable insights from the Spirit’s coaching staff on player development and team strategy. Registrations are open at https://www. playhq.com/basketball-victoria/register/ e1e60d

And topping off the Spirit’s trip to Warrnambool, the team will take on Geelong Venom at the stadium tomorrow night from 5.30pm.

Premiership drought broken

AFTER six consecutive grand final losses, dating back to 2016, North Warrnambool is finally celebrating premiership glory.

The Eagles snapped up their first ever Hampden League senior title last Friday, ending years of grand final heartache for the club and its dedicated supporters.

Last Friday’s thrilling 42-point victory over Koroit – which boasts seven of the last 10 premierships – saw North supporters swarm Reid Oval as the final siren sounded.

Final scores were North Warrnambool 13.12.90 to Koroit 7.6.48.

Charlie McKinnon booted home four majors for the premiers, while team-mates Harry Keast and Luke Wines added two apiece.

Earlier in the day, the club also celebrated premiership glory when its division two netballers defeated South Warrnambool 35-24 - with North’s Emily Saffin presented with the best on court medallion.
