At the dinner, the Chamber will honor Dr. Michael Givler with the Joseph G. Filoromo Jr. Community Service Award. WCCCC has benefited from the leadership of Michael Givler, as he was part of the original group of board directors in 2000 that revitalized the organization. Michael served as Chamber President in 2009 and is still active through his Lukens Band membership where he serves as their band manager and treasurer. Dr. Givler has been active in community service his whole life. He served as President of the Rotary Club of Coatesville in 2007 and currently serves as their treasurer. Mike serves on the Citadel Federal Credit Union board of directors and is very active with his church, Olivet United Methodist, where he organizes their Bread & Blessing community lunch program. Mike was the former Principal of Friendship School, formally worked for the Chester County Department of Community Development and was the Coatesville Main Street Manager. During the event, Bob Beggs, Executive Director of Good Works Inc. expressed the importance of businesses and non-profits working together for the community. "Our region has many opportunities for businesses to offer their employees, really rich experiences by getting them involved in non-profit organizations." Craig Styer of Fox Rothschild explained the reasons he gives back by serving on the Board of Directors of the Parkesburg Point. The POINT's mission is to empower youth and their families to live victoriously by offering a safe, engaging and spirit-filled environment. The youth center addresses spiritual, emotional, academic, and physical needs of young people by partnering with local churches, businesses and organizations in the community. The POINT's daily programs are 100% free to all students and open Monday through Thursday from 4:300 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. The organization is home to a large youth center, classrooms and gymnasium as well as a Hands on Training Center to help youth build skills in the trades such as carpentry, electrical, bicycle repair and robotics. At the event, the Chamber presented our 2021 Trades Scholarship to Jack McDevitt. The Twin Valley High School graduate participated in the TCHS Carpentry Program where he started in a co-operative education placement as a cabinet maker with StyleCraft Cabinetry. Since then, Jack was offered a full-time position with the business and continues to excel in his carpentry skills. He even started his own side business in 2020 crafting various carpentry items and plans to grow this business moving forward. During the event, Bob Beggs Executive Director of Good Works Inc. was impressed with Jack's determination and was able to donate tools from his organization to help Jack further his dream. FUTURE FOCUS The Chamber recently held our 9th Annual Future Focus event at Victory Brewing Company in Parkesburg. This event came about through our Regional Planning Committee which crafted a regional economic development study called Future Focus; designed to bring municipalities together to enhance and promote the western Chester County Region. Since then, the Chamber has implemented priority projects from that study each year. This year, the event hosted Atglen, Parkesburg Borough, Modena Borough, the City of Coatesville and Valley Township to share their development or open opportunities in their area. We also had three speakers sharing their business growth story or development plans in ChescoWest. CTDI | Keith Montone Keith discussed why and how CTDI operates in Coatesville. The business has 100 global operations in 22 countries and delivers innovative, in-region and technical supply chain solutions to the worlds leading Service Providers and OEMs including Amazon and Verizon. CTDI has 575 employees at the 470,000 sq. ft. facility in Coatesville. Keith explains that the business chose western Chester County because it offered the ability to expand their light industrial warehouse footprint in a location that was in close proximity to their global headquarters in West Chester. The location also offered CTDI access to local talent and a valuable pool of potential employees with 69% employees at the Coatesville location being Chester County residents. Valley View Business Park | Phil Earley and Bill Wilson Valley View Business Park, off of Waverly Boulevard is home to a modern state-of-the art warehouse for sale or lease. The zone provides for a wide range of industrial activities. Available is a design build of a 35,100 to 198,000 sq. ft. high bay warehouse, right off of route 30 near the Chester County Airport. Also nearby, are several new development projects including new business parks and housing developments. Valley View is already home to the new Cigas Machine Shop and G.A. Vietri, Inc.

John H. Lymberis discussed his project, Lafayette Square, a luxurious rental community in Sadsburyville. The 125 unit condominium development is on 12 acres located in Sadsbury Township. John explained that the growth of residents coming to western Chester County is in an upwards tick and the project fills the need of housing in the area.

We are truly blessed to have businesses, municipal leaders, educators and citizens who realize that we all share in the responsibility of the economic success in our community. To help our member businesses, we provide a variety of networking, educational, advertising and social opportunities over the course of the year. I want to congratulate our dedicated staff for a championship year. Donna Steltz and Rachel Cathell have done a fantastic job of making this an incredibly successful year. We welcomed Ashley Pierce as our Membership Engagement Specialist, a new position within the chamber that has shown immediate results. Membership of the WCCCC is impressive and growing rapidly, as we close in on 400 members strong.

We performed a number of new business ribbon-cuttings, including the beautiful renovation at the Midway Arches St. Cecelia’s Event Center. We look forward to the dedication of the 190 Innovation Center in Coatesville this fall, as well as the much anticipated kick-off of the Coatesville train station construction project. Since 1916, the Chamber has stood strong representing both small businesses and large corporations. We also represent sole proprietorships, diverse non-profits, leading regional institutions, manufacturing and agriculture. I want to thank all of our members, both new and long-standing for making the WCCCC a continued success. We have a number of our signature events planned for the remainder of the year. These include: The Reading Phillies event, our annual golf outing, the Coatesville Grand Prix, our annual dinner and awards banquet, as well as the 20th anniversary of our municipal luncheon. WOMEN OWNED BUSINESS CELEBRATES 30 YEARS Karen Neuhauser, owner of American Roll Suppliers, Inc. celebrates her 30th year operating the metal fabrication business, currently located in Sadsbury Township. Karen took over the company in 1991 from her father, Vincent E. Neuhauser. Originally the business specified in making furnace rolls for Lukens Steel as Vincent was a retired Luken Steelwoker. Now, the business specilizes on metal fabrication, machining and repairs. They manufacture many specialty items for the steel mills in Coatesville and Conshohocken, and have also provided Paulsonbilt Ltd. in Coatesville with parts used in their manufacture of waste containers since 1999.Karen has been a chamber member for most of her career, serving as WCCCC President in 1997. In addition, she helped with the creation of our Municipal Update Luncheon.

JGM CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF AMERICAN MADE For 20 years, JGM Fabricators, a Coatesville business that is home to 120 employees, has earned a reputation for solving heavy industrial construction and fabrication challenges for clients nationwide, in 19 different states. Joshua expressed that the collaborative effort between his team, community leaders and the City of Coatesville has facilitated the meeting of minds and elevated this project into completion.

The city of Coatesville is poised to become home to the county’s hottest new venues. A joint venture called Midway Arches is transforming what were formerly two church properties into modern and functional spaces for the community to use for a multitude of purposes; such as weddings, special events, meetings and other gatherings. The duo venues that make up Midway Arches are St. Cecilia’s at 99 North 6th Avenue and St. Stan’s on 209 West Lincoln Highway in Coatesville. The properties sat vacant for some time, until New Heritage Properties and Activated Capital saw their potential and came together to revitalize the two sister sites. Community members, local business owners and state, county and local officials recently gathered to celebrate the grand opening of Midway Arches and catch a glimpse of the transformation. Joshua Burrell of Activated Capital and co-owner of Midway Arches said, “We’re excited about the future and re-emerging from a global pandemic even stronger than before; this project demonstrates the capacity for how collaborative efforts can lead to major results.” When they first set off, the Midway Arches team was looking to not only just re-develop the property, but to intentionally develop community and get individuals excited about what is going on in the city. >

2ND CENTURY ALLIANCE FACADE IMPROVEMENT GRANT PROGRAM The Façade improvement grant through Coatesville 2nd Century Alliance is an opportunity for commercial property owners in downtown Coatesville to restore their storefronts. This jump start program was designed to stimulate investment in the city, promote architectural appreciation and initiate improvements to historic buildings in downtown Coatesville. Multiple businesses have utilized the grant so far. The program offers a 100% match up to a project limit of $7,500. ATGLEN PUBLIC LIBRARY PREPARES THEIR NEW SPACE

The Atglen Public Library is preparing for a major change- they're moving down the street to a larger space! The space will be two to three times the size of the current library and tote much more open space inside and a large parking lot outside. The library will house co-working tables, a conference room, movie screening room and a special focus on S.T.E.A.M programming. The project is currently two-thirds of the way funded. The library will host their Di-Atglen Wizard Faire signature event, on October 16th.

EASTBURN COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD The recipients of the 2021 Brandywine Health Foundation’s prestigious Eastburn Community Service Award were announced; congratulations Samuel Brown and Sandra Simmons! BRANDYWINE HOSPITAL ADDRESSES OPIOIDS

Brandywine Hospital shared with the community its plans to address the Opioid Overdose issue. They held an event with speakers, Claire Mooney, President and Chief Executive Officer of Brandywine Hospital, Marian Moskowitz, Chair, Board of Commissioners, and Wei Du, MD, Chair of Psychiatry at Brandywine Behavioral Health. The event discussed Brandywine Hospital's Opioid Stewardship Task Force Program which is comprised of a Clinical Task Force with representatives across the continuum of care that provide provider and nursing education on non-opioid pain management, and standardizing clinical practice. Brandywine Hospital's prevention initiatives include a community Narcan Training event, Narcan for Families of Opioid Use Disorder patients, and Medication Take-Back events. The hospital plans to continue to focus on opioid community education, especially at upcoming community events, as well as providing access for individuals to support groups.

Coatesville’s Pop Up & Shop outdoor markets returned to the City on Saturday, July 10, at 3rd Avenue and Lincoln Highway (near Rite Aid) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Launched in September 2020 to provide entrepreneurs the opportunity to take their new and emerging small businesses to the next level, Coatesville’s Pop Up & Shop markets are free and open to the public and will feature custom clothing and jewelry, handmade gifts, delicious cuisine, haircare, organic beauty products and more.
