Christmas on the Mount Without

Page 1

The Mount Without

The Mount Without has a 900-year-old history as striking and dramatic as the interior you see tonight The original church dates back to Norman times and its name (St Michael's on the Mount Without) derives from the fact that it was situated outside of the city walls The tower was built in the 15th century and the bells were added in 1739.

It suffered heavy damage during the Blitz in 1941 after an incendiary bomb started a fire that destroyed the roof, eerily foreshadowing a fate that left its future in the balance. In 2016, a fire broke out that caused the roof to collapse entirely and the building was put up for sale a year later

After years of painstaking work, the venue has been meticulously restored and now enjoys a new life as a unique arts space, a venue for regular private events and the home of resident dance company, Impermanence

It is a privilege to play in such a beautiful building and to be part of its unfolding story

Gympanzees

As a band, we not only aim to promote lifelong learning of and engagement with music, but also support a range of good causes by offering financial support and bringing awareness to campaigns and projects

This year we are supporting the children's charity, Gympanzees, which helps children and young people with a range of disabilities and additional needs to access exercise and leisure facilities Their vital work enables children and young people to enhance their physical, mental and emotional development and helps to combat the isolation they experience as a result of a lack of appropriate and accessible facilities

Gympanzees are currently raising funds to build a state-of-the-art facility that will be the first of its kind in the UK 'Project Home' is raising £22 million to fund a building that will be open 7 days a week and will offer access to a range of specialist play and leisure equipment that is currently inaccessible to many children and young people with specialist needs

We will be taking donations tonight to go towards this project- please give as generously as you can Thank you

White Christmas

Solo intro

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas Just like the ones I used to know Where the treetops glisten and children listen To hear sleigh bells in the snow

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas With every Christmas card I write May your days be merry and bright And may all your Christmases be white

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas *** Where the tree tops glisten and children listen To hear sleigh bells in the snow I'm dreaming of a white Christmas *** May your days be merry and bright And may all your Christmases be white

Q: How did Darth Vader know what Luke Skywalker got for Christmas?
