Food Fest Preview

Don’t miss the West End World of Food Festival On Saturday, September 17, the West End Theatre District will host thousands of visitors and about 20 food vendors at the second annual West End World of Food

Festival. The event, produced by the West End Alliance, will take place on 19th Street between Liberty and Allen streets from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and feature live music, crafts, children’s activities, beer, wine and, of course, a wide variety of food vendors. “As an organization, we’re dedicated to promoting the area and celebrating Allentown’s diverse cultural community with food, art and music,” says Susan Bella Linski, owner of

Susan Bella Jewelry and vice president of the not-for-profit West End Alliance. The event will offer a chance to sample international cuisine from food trucks and free-standing vendors including Caribbean Noodles, Cinnamini Donuts, Puertorrican Culture, Hai Street Kitchen and Mad Sandwiches. Prepared foods will also be available including honey and maple syrup from Heaven’s Honey and penny candy from Susan’s Candy. Kids’ activities will include a craft table (continued on page 2)

The Great Allentown Fair Sends off Summer with Tradition The Great Allentown Fair returns to Allentown Fairgrounds on Tuesday, August 30, for six days of agricultural exhibits, food demonstrations, free family entertainment, wild rides and world-class performances.

“Pennsylvania doesn’t have a state fair. Our city has a statefair caliber event and has for 164 years,” says Bonnie Brosious, Marketing Director for The Great Allentown Fair. “The West End Theatre District should be proud
