A gentleman walked into my office with a donation this year and said that West End Center is a place of hope in our community. WOW! In just a brief sentence, he captured what I felt when I sat on the playground the first time as a community partner 14 years ago
Our children are brimming with hope and West End Center is proud to be a part of helping our children and their families make their hopes and dreams come true Our vibrant and energetic students love being here and spending time with their friends, playing on the playground and forming relationships with our team of adults including staff, interns, and volunteers. Our families tell us we are a valued part of their community, and they appreciate the academic enrichment we offer
If you asked the adults how they spend their afternoons here, they would tell you getting to know our students and watching them learn and change is the best part of being here We have some really exciting plans for 2024 so come see us, get a tour and meet the best part of us, our students!

PROGRAMBadge Buddies
The Badge Buddies Program at West End Center is a community-driven initiative designed to foster positive relationships between local law enforcement and students. This program aims to engage community members with students through running on the Roanoke River Greenway, with a notable focus on the annual Spooky Sprint 5k event in the fall.
Physical Activity Boost: The program contributes to increased physical activity among students, promoting a healthier lifestyle from an early age
Community Collaboration: The program serves as a community-wide effort, bringing together residents, law enforcement, and students for a common cause.
Positive Relationship Building: The program focuses on fostering positive relationships between local law enforcement and children, aiming to create a foundation of trust and understanding
