With its spectacular views of the Long Island Sound as the backdrop for our evening, this year’s A Matter of Taste promises to be the most successful yet. Each year, this important fundraising event brings together more than 400 members of the Arc of Westchester family to raise funds for critically needed programs and services for more than 2,000 people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Because of you and all of our other generous supporters, A Matter of Taste has raised close to $2 million over the past 12 years. Virginia Donovan Parent and Arc of Westchester Benefactor Virginia Donovan’s involvement with Arc of Westchester began decades ago. Searching for a proper placement for her daughter Karen, Virginia was turned away by numerous schools and service providers. It was the Arc of Westchester’s Children’s School that said “yes” when all others said “no.” Inspired by a deep gratitude for the lifechanging services Karen received, Virginia has donated generously and consistently, making Arc of Westchester a philanthropic priority. She continues to act as an ambassador for our mission, encouraging others to give so that families can take advantage of all that Arc of Westchester has to offer. Virginia has also been a guiding light and extraordinary supporter of our visual and performing arts programs, which have proven to unlock potential in people with special needs. Virginia is a treasured member of the Arc of Westchester family, and we are honored to present her with this year’s Family Partner Award.
