2022 PerformerComposer Residency

In 2022, the Performer-Composer Residency (PCR) celebrated five years

of creative encounters. 40 participants gathered in digital and physical space, sharing sound, stories, places and practices. The 2022 PCR showcase "Creating Apart, Sounding Together" was also the first concert of the year to "awaken" The Barn -- and what an evening it was!

What is the PCR? (No, not that PCR!)

The participants of the PCR often find themselves in between categories of composing music and bringing it to life in real-time, and we try to cheer that on! We say, “how fascinating!” to the complex intersections we inhabit as we seek to share and create music together from our unique cultural positions and realities. What’s incredible is what emerges in this encouraging and generative meeting space; it reinvigorates us to find vibrant, just, and

sustainable ways of living together and to meaningfully address social inequities and planetary imbalances.
