Position Overview
Responsibilities
WE-SPARK Health Institute is looking for a Research Associate with experience in REDCap in providing support for data collection activities for research studies using the REDCap platform, ensuring all created databases allow for correct data collection, storage and analysis. The Research Associate will be responsible for completing special projects as needed to support WE-SPARK members. Experience in methods, statistical analysis and REDCap administration will be required. We are looking for a team player with an interest in contributing to human health in an academic and collaborative environment. Must have excellent communications skills, be willing to understand WE-SPARK processes, and contribute ideas and solutions to a high-performing, motivated team. WE-SPARK Member Support • Provide research teams with REDCap support, including creation and management of user accounts and permissions, responding to questions, and communicating best practices • Train research staff on the use of REDCap, including data entry, quality control, and reporting • Work directly with IT specialists, biostatisticians, project coordinators and other users of REDCap to support health research projects • For approved research projects, create and manage REDCap databases, including designing data entry forms and surveys REDCap Administration • Perform monthly audits to monitor data quality and perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of data to ensure REB compliance where applicable. • Work with technical staff to implement testing, ad-hoc REDCap upgrades, monitor technical issues. • Act as a “translator” between technical staff (Database Administrators, software developers, system administrators, etc.) and end users • Develop further policy and procedure documents as the instance grows Update and release the REDCap Terms of Use as changes are made • Monitor and update the REDCap Service Level Agreement and backup procedures, as needed. WE-SPARK Team • Contribute to team projects that may involve REDCap training and presentations. • Collect and report on metrics quarterly and yearly
Minimum Qualifications

BA or BSc degree in Life Sciences, Health Services Administration, Business Administration or relevant discipline 2 years experience with REDCap for research data collection and management Formal classroom training in database creation and management
