Charities that support children are in major need this year. There are many of them, so here is a list of five that could use your support in 2021.

Child Find of America This national organization works to prevent child abduction and help resolve these cases.

This charitable organization answers calls from family members, searching parents, abducting parents, missing kids, at-risk youth, child welfare, and law enforcement. There are over 6,000 cases each day and dozens of families who are assisted by Child Find of America.

Locks of Love

Locks of Love serves children who have long-term hair loss from different medical diagnoses. The children this charity provides wigs made of real hair for are financially unable to afford a wig on their own. Many of the children served by Locks of Love have Alopecia Areata, which can cause permanent hair loss and currently has no cure. Cancer survivors are also Locks of Love wig recipients.

Reach Out & Read This children’s charity integrates reading into routine pediatric check-ups. The non-profit teaches about early child brain development by providing pediatric practices with books.

Teams all over the United States help teach families the importance of reading for brain development.

Our Military Kid Our Military Kids is a non-profit organization that provides grants to children in Kindergarten through 12th grade whose parents are deployed from the reserve or National Guard. Children of wounded veterans from every branch of the military are also provided with grants. These grants help military children participate in activities that will help build their confidence and also help them cope with life while their parents are deployed or injured.

Make-A-Wish.org The Make-A-Wish Foundation serves children dealing with critical illnesses by granting their wishes. The mission of the Make-A-Wish Foundation is to make sure that every child who is critically ill gets their wish granted because it can have a positive impact on them and also provide them with some relief from their everyday discomforts of medical treatment. Because of their critical illness, most of these sick children are unable to have the same joyful experiences that other kids have. The Foundation helps these children have an unforgettable wish experience and wants them to live childhood with some sparks of joy.
