The Wesley Update

A standout season for Wesley College sport
This term has been one to remember for sport in Wesley College, with success building week by week across every age group and discipline. Highlights include standout cup and league campaigns, and impressive performances on provincial and national stages. This cover image captures just one of those moments, with JCT captain Graeme Wildish celebrating the team’s Father Godfrey Cup win.
Our back cover offers a glimpse of many more of our winning teams, and there is an article inside (on page 6) highlighting the remarkable achievement of the Senior 1 XI Boys hockey team, who have just secured a historic treble, culminating in their recent Leinster Cup Final victory.
What stood out most this term was the collective spirit behind our students - the early mornings in S&C, the training sessions in all weathers, the teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship shown by our students, as well as the unwavering crowds of students cheering in the stands and on the sides of pitches. Whether competing at the highest level or representing the College for the first time, every player has contributed to a term defined by effort and shared success.

A masterclass in choral singing for Junior Choral Group
Junior Choral Group had a great evening of music-making when they were put through their paces in a workshop led by expert choral conductor Dr Lynsey Callaghan. Choristers enjoyed some pizza and chat before getting down to work for a very active, engaging and fun session. They explored breath, gesture, vowels, storytelling and communication, working on new material and some repertoire for the Interschools Music Festival. By Dr Doyle

Strings of success for Music Scholars
Kian Lee (6th Year) was chosen as one of only three students to participate in a Concerto Masterclass with worldrenowned violinist Maxim Vengerov and the National Symphony Orchestra Ireland on 28th February 2026. This was a considerable achievement for Kian, who is developing into one of Ireland’s finest young violinists. Kian has also been selected as coleader of the Ulster Youth Orchestra, where he will attend a summer course and concert in Belfast and Derry after he leads the Irish Youth Orchestra in Dublin.
Congratulations to Junhyung Kang (3rd Year), who won the John Pollard Award for Young String Players in the Royal Irish Academy of Music, a prize that comes with a cash bursary to support his violin studies. Congratulations also to Andrei Trif (5th Year) and Sean Lee (4th Year), who both made it to the final six competitors. By Ms Dowzard

The future is bright
Transition Years and 5th Years enjoy vibrant and inspiring Future Fair hosted by Wesley’s Guidance Department
On Thursday, 26th February 2026, the Guidance Department hosted a vibrant and inspiring Future Fair for Transition Year and 5th Year students. The event was a dynamic and forward-looking occasion, designed to give students direct exposure to the wide range of opportunities available to them after secondary school. From higher education to training programmes, creative careers to public service, the fair served as an eye-opening experience that encouraged students to begin thinking seriously about their future paths.
Throughout the day, the school welcomed an impressive line-up of exhibitors from across the country. Representatives from over a dozen institutions were in attendance, creating a professional and engaging atmosphere that allowed students to explore different sectors and speak one-on-one with experts. Some of the participating organisations we hosted are listed to the right of this article. Students were encouraged to browse the stands, ask questions, collect prospectuses, and engage in meaningful conversations about courses, careers, entry requirements and student life. The range of exhibitors ensured that there was something of interest for everyone, whether their ambitions lay in science, the arts, business, public service or vocational training.
Adding a valuable and personal dimension to the fair was the participation of past pupils, now studying at or working with many of the institutions represented on the day. Their return to the school as ambassadors of their respective colleges and training programmes brought a relatable and encouraging tone to the event. These alumni shared honest, firsthand insights into the transition from secondary school to college or work, offering helpful advice and answering questions from current students with warmth and authenticity.
Double success for MUN team
Congratulations to our Model United Nations team, who brought home two awards in recent weeks. We won a Commended Delegation award representing the Russian Federation at Blackrock, followed by a Best Delegation award representing China at the John Scottus conference the following week. Special congratulations to Elliot Meagher, Dylan Martin and Callum Keatinge for winning individual awards throughout. New members are always welcome to join us on Tuesdays at 4:15 in C23.
By Ms Sharkey
As the day progressed, students actively engaged with the exhibitors, showing curiosity, maturity, and a genuine interest in their future possibilities. Whether collecting brochures, discussing course content or learning about application processes, each interaction brought students one step closer to understanding their interests, strengths, and options. The wide variety of pathways on display, from traditional academic routes to apprenticeships, creative careers, and the public sector, highlighted the importance of exploring all options and finding a journey that fits each individual student.
In conclusion, the Future Fair was more than just an informative event; it was a motivating and confidence-building experience. It empowered students to take ownership of their future choices and encouraged them to dream boldly while planning practically. With new ideas, valuable connections and a clearer sense of direction, students left the event inspired and better equipped to make informed decisions in the years ahead.

Green Schools: Reflection on a year of progress
As the year is coming to an end, we would like to summarise and share our progress on the work we have done so far throughout the year to achieve our Green Flag. Since 2024, we have been working on the Green Flag for Travel and Global Citizenship. We carried out a survey at the start of the year to understand our students’ thoughts and daily travel habits. We have since carried out another survey to see whether there was any improvement, and the results were pleasing. We were delighted to see more students being encouraged to cycle or walk to school, helping the environment. When the Green Flag assessment visit took place with Julianne Pickard from An Taisce, we took the opportunity to summarise our work in a PowerPoint presentation to show her everything we have done. From events like Green Week 2025 to the two campaigns (‘No Idling’ and cycling to school) that we were working on this year, we achieved great success in improving our school’s environment. We have also been working
on an environmental policy for the school to use as a guideline in the future. The assessment visit was very successful and gave us a lot of encouragement and confidence to achieve this flag. At the same time, we Green Schools members were very satisfied with how we have helped change our school into a better place for the environment. Green Week 2026 was in March, and this marked the start of our plan for the next flag, the Global Citizenship – Food and Biodiversity Flag. During Green Week, we brought back old events like the swap shop, activity hub and book repair workshops. We also included new events like guest speakers and cactus sales.
The Biodiversity and Food Flag is a flag that aims to support biodiversity and the environment. Our Green Schools members have already started planning for it, beginning with Green Week 2026. We also have trips and beach cleaning planned for the future. We will continue to try our best to lead our school towards becoming a greener environment. We hope everyone can join together so that, together, we can create a better future.
By Kaitlyn Chan, 4th Year
Green Week took place from 23rd to 27th March 2026. There will be a full feature covering the events of the week in the next issue of the Wesley Update.
Extracurricular presentations for 1st Years and Preps
Over two weeks in January and February, the 1st Years and Preps gathered in the GB Shaw Auditorium to hear presentations from some of the many extracurricular clubs available to them in Wesley. The first week covered Strength and Conditioning, Choir, MUN, Christian Union, Girls Rugby, Basketball, Creative Writing and Junior Debating. The presentations were either given by the teacher in charge or a student member of the club or activity. The presentations were fun and engaging, and highlighted the many reasons to take part.
The second week covered Green Schools, Drama Club, the School Library (Student Library Assistants and the new Dungeons and Dragons group), Bridge, Craft Club, Lego Club and Art Club. These presentations were a terrific opportunity for each club or activity to tell the junior students what they are about, when and where the clubs meet, and how much fun they are. It was also an opportunity for the 1st Years and Preps to hear about the vast array of activities and clubs available to them every day.

Shriek! Upcoming Junior play
The Drama Club is delighted to announce its upcoming junior production of Shriek, with a performance taking place on 29th April for one night only. Following a highly successful round of auditions, which saw a fantastic turnout of talented students, an enthusiastic cast has been selected and rehearsals are now in full swing.
Shriek is a lively fairytale pantomime filled with comedy, music, and a host of familiar storybook characters, all caught up in a magical adventure involving not one, but two wicked witches plotting to take over a kingdom. Throughout the rehearsal process,

cast members have been given plenty of creative opportunities to put their own spin on the play, helping to shape a lively and unique production. There will also be further opportunities for students from Preps to 3rd Year to get involved behind the scenes, making this a truly inclusive school event.
This production marks the first time the school has staged a junior play, making it a particularly exciting milestone for everyone involved. Be sure not to miss what promises to be a fun and memorable night of theatre!

Historic treble secured with 5-0 Leinster Cup Final victory
Congratulations to the Senior 1st XI Boys, who completed an incredible treble with a dominant 5-0 victory over Newpark Comprehensive in the Leinster Cup Final.
After a scoreless first quarter, Wesley took the lead early in the second when Conor Fox fired home a powerful drag flick. He doubled the lead in the third quarter with another expertly executed set piece.
Further goals from Jake Fulton, Sam Rothwell and Johnny

Woods sealed an emphatic victory.
This triumph completed a remarkable treble, with the team conceding just two goals throughout their entire competitive season, an outstanding achievement.
Well done to coaches Arul Anthoni and Natalie Fulton, captain Harry Glennon, vice-captain Sam Rothwell, and all the squad.
By Mr. Harte

Senior 2nd XI Complete Stunning Comeback Victory
The Senior 2nd XI produced an outstanding comeback to defeat St Andrew’s 4–3 in a thrilling contest. Wesley found themselves 3–0 down before half-time but were given hope when Ross Collins calmly converted a penalty stroke just before the break. Collins struck again early in the third quarter to reduce the deficit to 3–2, before Sam Bowling equalised from a well-worked short corner. With momentum firmly on their side, Wesley dominated the final quarter. Their pressure paid off when Harry Grainger showed great composure to finish into the bottom corner and complete the turnaround. A determined defensive effort in the closing stages ensured a memorable and welldeserved victory. By Mr. Marcoux

1st Year Boys League Semi-Final
An injury-hit 1st Year boys’ team suffered a narrow defeat in their league semi-final. After facing intense pressure from High School in the opening 15 minutes, we fell 1–0 behind. Just before half-time, Brody Mollins equalised with an outstanding team goal, giving us a well-earned boost heading into the break. We conceded a second goal with 10 minutes remaining, but the team showed great character and resilience, refusing to let their heads drop. They pushed hard in search of an equaliser, but it wasn’t to be on the day.

Wesley Under 14A Triumph in Leinster Cup Final
Last Wednesday, 18th March, the Under 14A hockey team claimed the Leinster Cup after an entertaining final against St Columba’s College.
In a closely contested game, Wesley took the lead just before half-time when Tom Dillon finished a superb deflection. The second half was end-to-end, with St Columba’s equalising in the closing minutes to set up a dramatic finish. At the back, William Massey and Jamie Stewart excelled in their new centre-back partnership, while Patrick Woods and Ollie Cox found the space to showcase their attacking talents.

The Senior Girls hockey squad of 18 travelled on Wednesday 18th March to compete in the Kate Russell Tournament. After a productive training session at Armagh Hockey Club, where two of our three group matches would be played, the girls were eager to begin. Their first match was against local side Banbridge at College Hill. With fantastic support from two busloads of Wesley supporters, the girls started confidently and created early chances. However, Banbridge scored just before the end of the first quarter. Despite a determined effort throughout, Wesley couldn’t break through the Banbridge defence. A late counterattack and quick third goal saw Banbridge win 3–0.
Prep Girls Hockey
The Prep girls have reached the final of the 6th Class Girls’ League. Having only come together as classmates at the start of the school year, they have developed wonderfully as a hockey team.
They had a tough start to their league campaign, narrowly losing 2–1 to St. Gerard’s in a closely contested match,
With the match level, the final was decided by 1 v 1s. Patrick Woods, Tom Dillon and Zac Collins all scored in the first round of five, while Harry Popplewell produced two excellent saves. The contest moved to sudden death, where Tom Dillon and Patrick Woods converted again, leaving Harry Popplewell to make the decisive save and secure the cup. A fantastic team performance and a memorable day for all involved.
By Mr Delany

The girls quickly regrouped for their next match against Coláiste Iognáid. In a tight contest, Wesley initially took a 1-0 lead. Colaiste Iognáid then took advantage of a couple of cards for Wesley to go into a 2-1 lead. Wesley showed great character in the final quarter to re-group and secure a 3-2 win. With Banbridge losing to Scoil Mhuire, everything rested on Friday’s final group game.
Following a tournament dinner and an early night, the girls were ready to face pool leaders Scoil Mhuire. Backed by more travelling supporters, Wesley played with confidence and intent. An early goal settled nerves, followed by a second from Evelyn Kwik in the second quarter. Strong defensive work, led by goalkeeper Anna Delany, ensured a 2–0 victory despite sustained pressure.
However, with three teams finishing on six points, placings were decided on goal difference. Wesley narrowly placed third, missing out by a single goal and moving into the 5th/6th playoff against Crescent.
In a closely fought match, Crescent took the lead in the third quarter before Wesley equalised with just a minute remaining. The game went to 1v1s, where Anna Delany’s outstanding saves proved decisive. Goals from Lucy, Julia and Evelyn secured the win.
The tournament ended with an outpouring of emotion after a demanding few days and a long season. Winning three of four matches in such a competitive tournament was a fantastic achievement.

followed by a 2–2 draw with Our Lady’s Wayside. The girls then went on an excellent run, winning three matches in a row against Kilternan Church of Ireland, St. Andrew’s National School Bray, and Teresians in the semi-final. Their final takes place on Wednesday 25th March in Three Rock Rovers. Congratulations to the girls, and best of luck in their first final together!

Minor B Girls Hockey

1st Year Girls Hockey
This was an exceptional year for the 1st Year girls. Despite only forming teams at the start of the season, there was fantastic commitment and team spirit throughout, with 65 girls regularly attending training across Prep and 1st Year. As a result, four of the five teams reached the playoff stages, an outstanding achievement.
The 1st Year A team reached the league final following a hardfought 2–1 win over Alex in the semi-final, a particularly satisfying result after losing to the same opposition on 1v1s in the Leinster Cup. On their way, they recorded impressive wins over Our Lady’s Terenure, Loreto Dalkey and Loreto Beaufort.
The 1st Year B squad won all their group matches before narrowly losing 2–1 to St. Andrew’s in the quarter-final. The 1st Year C team also won all their group games and progressed to a pre-quarter-final playoff against Muckross. Although they lost 2–0, they showed great improvement throughout the season, with many players new to hockey.
The 1st Year D1 team entered their quarter-final unbeaten. In a thrilling match, they came from behind twice to draw
Junior Girls Hockey Season Summary
The Junior A girls had a busy league campaign, playing five matches, winning three and losing two. This left them level on points with St. Andrew’s and Loreto Beaufort for second place, leading to a playoff against St. Andrew’s in Wesley. In a tense contest, the defence stood strong, with goalkeeper Roisin Arheit commanding her circle. Wesley’s persistence paid off when Lauren Walsh scored a late winner. They then faced Beaufort for a place in the league semi-final. In another tight game, Beaufort secured a 1–0 win. Wesley had a chance for redemption in the Leinster Cup semi-final the following week, but despite strong determination and creating chances, they were again denied, losing 2–0. It was a disappointing finish, but a season full of valuable experience.
The Junior C1 girls also enjoyed a strong campaign, showing excellent commitment and team spirit throughout. They played five group matches, winning three and drawing two to finish level on points with Newbridge College. A playoff followed, where Wesley edged a tight game 1–0 to reach the quarter-final. They travelled to face Loreto Dalkey, where
The Minor B girls had a very consistent season, winning all five of their group matches. They scored an impressive 21 goals and conceded just 2, an excellent achievement. They continued their strong form with a 2–0 victory over St. Andrew’s in the league semi-final.
In the final against Mount Anville, played in front of great support, the girls battled hard in a closely contested match. Unfortunately, it ended in a narrow 2–1 defeat, their first league loss of the season.
This team truly epitomised what it means to be a team. Their work ethic and strong bond were evident at training and in matches throughout the season. Well done to all the girls on a fantastic campaign.
By Mrs. Henderson

2–2, pushing the game to 1v1s. After an even first round, the match went to sudden death, where they were narrowly defeated by Rathdown.
Across all squads, the girls showed fantastic dedication, improvement and teamwork throughout the season. They should be very proud of their efforts and the strong foundation they have built for the years ahead.
By Mrs. Henderson

once again only one goal separated the sides, with Dalkey coming out on top. Despite this, the team deserves great credit for their dedication, positive attitude, and strong bond throughout the season. Coached by Sarah Greasley, they showed great enthusiasm and continued improvement, with 3rd and 4th years working seamlessly together.

Rugby
A Graeme Wildish try and James Clinch conversion proved decisive as we edged St Andrew’s College 7–5 to capture the Bank of Ireland Leinster Rugby Father Godfrey Cup title at Energia Park on Thursday.
The tone was set from the outset with St. Andrew’s fast chase from the kickoff. We absorbed the early intensity well, with second row Jacob Hanna winning a crucial penalty on the floor to steady proceedings in difficult, rainsoaked conditions.

Handling was consistently tested by the weather as St Andrew’s stayed committed to moving the ball through the hands. Their early ambition paid off in the 10th minute when a block on Clinch opened space for captain Charlie Clarke to finish.
Further opportunities followed. James Dunlop joined the line at pace off a scrum on the 22 but the move fizzled out, while full-back Ethan Hall remained alert to defuse a dangerous bouncing ball ahead of Greene, Wesley’s closest effort of the half. Strong carries from Darragh Larkin and Hanna helped us escape danger, though we still trailed 5–0 at the interval.
A triple substitution at half-time helped shift momentum. Harry Cole and Wildish quickly established front-foot ball, and Wildish powered over for the decisive try, converted by Clinch to give Wesley the lead in the 35th minute.
With the game on a knife-edge, St Andrew’s persisted with ball in hand rather than kicking, but our defence held firm. Clinch’s diagonal kick relieved pressure at a key moment, while St Andrew’s inability to execute at a late attacking lineout ultimately proved costly.
We managed the closing minutes expertly, clearing our lines and holding our nerve to secure a narrow but deserved victory and lift the Father Godfrey Cup. Photos taken from Leinster Rugby.

The boys U15 rugby team recently competed in the annual Terenure College rugby festival on the weekend of March 13th and 14th. Sixteen teams from all around the country are invited to this action-packed event. We were in a group against St Gerards, PBC Cork and St Micheals College. Our first match was against St Gerards and we unfortunately lost 7-10. Harry Popplewell scored an excellent breakaway try in the match, converted by Andrew Haugh.
Up next were PBC Cork and they proved too strong for us. We played some good rugby in this match, but they got a few easy scores. Our last group game was against St Micheals College, and we saved our best rugby of the day for this. We won the game 14-0, scores coming from Harry Greene and Harry Popplewell. These results meant that we qualified for the hield semi-final which was played the following morning. We played CBC Cork in the shield semi-final. This was a very tight game and could have gone either way. Joshua Kane and Harry Greene scored two excellent tries but we ultimately lost 12-17. This result put us into the 3rd and 4th place play off for the shield against Belvedere College. This game did not go our way, and Belvedere played the better rugby with the result finishing 7-29 to Belvedere. Overall, this was a very enjoyable two days of rugby. The U15’s got lots of exposure against the top teams in the country and I have no doubt that this will stand to them as they build towards their JCT season next year.

SCT Plate Semi-Final

The SCT played Clongowes away in the plate Semi-final in what would potentially be the last game together for the group. After finding out the draw the decision was made to play under lights on a Monday evening down in Clongowes in front of a large crowd. With a disrupted build up and limited prep time combined with a few injuries to key personnel including captain Isaac Reid and the influential Tom Burke it was always going to be a challenging fixture but Wesley were up for the fight. Bursting out of the blocks Wesley showcased their class and ability to play with a try of the season contender off the back of a cross field kick from Zach Sidebottom and a kick through from Max Colbert for Nathan Heatley to win the race to dot down and continue his brilliant scoring streak this year. Clongowes then got a foot hold in the game and despite Wesley still playing the better rugby they were punished for a few mistakes including a knock on over the line leading to 2 breakaway Clongowes trys leaving the score 19-5 at halftime. Clongowes then scored another try against the run of play to start the 2nd half and leaving the score at 26-5 with the game threatening to run away from Wesley but this is a team who time and time again throughout the season showed their character and resilience to flip the momentum and play the better rugby for the rest of the half producing 3 brilliant trys through Nathan Heatley grabbing a second, Eli Hanna getting over from close range and Ross Collins capitalising off another excellent cross kick but ultimately there wasn’t enough time left on the clock to finish the comeback with Clongowes winning 31-26 in the end after a great game. While the final outcome was disappointing the manner in which Wesley played and fought for each other was a credit to witness and a fitting way for the 6th yrs to wear the jersey for the last time. We also had a few 4th yrs stepping up and getting their 1st caps which bodes well for the future and all in all it was a great night for the group to be together one last time.

1st Year Girls Rugby Blitz
At a blitz hosted by Wilson’s Hospital School, the Wesley 1st Year girls were split into two teams and delivered a series of determined performances in highly competitive matches. The girls showed great commitment, teamwork and resilience throughout, representing Wesley with pride. Team One were narrowly beaten 20–15 by The High School, with Nina Rogerson earning Player of the Match for her outstanding defence. They then faced Wilson’s Hospital, where Aoife Moore was Player of the Match in a spirited display despite a 15–5 defeat. Team Two made an excellent start against a strong Wilson’s side, scoring three early tries before eventually losing out in a hard-fought contest. They showed great determination again in their second game, finishing strongly with a try from Marlise Shanahan. The day concluded with a combined 15-a-side match, where the girls continued to work tirelessly for one another. Lara Kidd was named Overall Player of the Match for her outstanding effort across the day. A special mention also to TY students Caoilinn O’Leary and George Carroll for their excellent leadership and support. By Ms. Savage

Showjumping
Wesley Showjumping Teams Enjoy Strong Results

They say fortune favours the brave, and this certainly proved true when the open showjumping team travelled to Boswell, Ashford on a horribly wet and windy day in February. With only three riders and a particularly challenging course, the odds were against them. However, Lulu Rose Mulhall (Luciano), making her debut for the open team, alongside Amelia Henly (Kilpatrick ForgetMe-Not) and Eva McCraith (Cluainin Rob), delivered stellar performances to secure 2nd place in the Open Team event.
On 1st March, Wesley hosted a leg of the National Showjumping League at CoilÓg Eventing Centre. In the Open Team event, Lulu Rose Mulhall (Luciano), Amelia Henly (Kilpatrick Forget-Me-Not) and Eva McCraith (Cluainin Rob) all produced faultless rounds, but were narrowly beaten by St Mary’s, New Ross in a jump-off against the clock.
The Novice Team, Lulu Rose Mulhall (Kitkat), Emily Glass (Paddy Tom), Lola Fulton (Pandora Snowdrop) and Amelia Henly (Kilpatrick Lorenzo), secured an excellent 1st place in their event.
In the individual classes, Eva and Lulu Rose qualified for the national finals in the Premier 1.10m and Equieire 90cm classes respectively, while Amelia and Emily both achieved strong placings in the 1m and 80cm classes.
This marked Wesley College’s fourth show, and sincere thanks are due to Ms Savage, along with the many parents, pupils and past pupils, especially their parents, whose support helped make the day such a success.

Badminton

After winning the Dublin Schools Badminton Division 1 league, our Boys’ U14A team progressed directly to the final of the Leinster Area Division 1 competition, where they faced Terenure for the title. The boys played magnificently and secured the Leinster trophy with a convincing 6–0 victory.
They will now go on to compete in the All-Ireland U14 Badminton Competition on 25th March. Congratulations to Leonid Ivlenkov, Paul Xu, Kevin (Yinkai) Liu, Jeremy (Yinuo) Liu, and substitute Tom (Tianqi) Zhuo.
The U14B team also enjoyed great success, having won the Dublin Schools Badminton Division 3 league to qualify for the Leinster Finals Day (Division 3). They recorded excellent victories over Coláiste Abhainn Rí (5–0) and Newbridge (5–1) to reach the final. In a very close match against Roscrea, they were narrowly defeated 4–2. Well done to Eddison Kwik, Micah Pratesi, Oscar Guo, Samuel Wang, and substitute Yunuo Jiang on finishing as runnersup and on a fantastic season.
By Ms. Walsh

The team qualified for the finals by winning their Dublin Schools league before Christmas and went on to face the top teams from across Leinster in a series of highly competitive matches.
They began with a dominant 6–0 victory over St Patrick’s Classical School, with an impressive points tally of 126–36. Next, they faced Creagh College, Gorey, in a much tighter contest that ended 3–3. On points countback, Wesley secured the win by 100 points to 96.
The semi-final against East Glendalough was another closely fought match, again decided on points, with Wesley winning 104–95.
In the final, they faced De La Salle, Dundalk, in a thrilling encounter that went right down to the wire. With everything on the line, Wesley needed to win the final two doubles matches — and they delivered, securing a fantastic 4–2 victory to claim the Leinster title.
The team members are Luke Somerville, Toby Crossan, Yiyu (Ivan) Zhang, and William Brereton Luan.
A huge congratulations to the team on this exceptional achievement and for representing the school with such determination and skill.

Basketball
2nd Year

From the opening whistle, the girls showed tremendous work rate and determination, working hard in both attack and defence. The game also highlighted the great efforts of this new team, who only came together after Christmas. Their strong defensive play and good decision-making all contributed to the team’s success thus far.
A special mention goes to Amelie Magennis, who delivered an outstanding performance in the quarter-final, scoring 18 points. Sadhbh Gleeson also made a significant contribution, scoring 16 points in the previous game. Both played key roles in the team’s success. Ciara Fredericks, Lily Marnell, and Rebecca Goldstein dominated up and down the court, while Abby Hay unfortunately sustained an injury during the game. Newcomers Elodie Durkin and Sadie Orton also impressed, showcasing strong dribbling skills as they broke through the defence. Well done to all the players for representing the school so positively and for the commitment they have shown throughout the season. Best of luck to you all as you prepare for the league semi-final next week.
