The best part about this gift is that everything goes directly back to the players to enhance their Wesleyan field hockey experience and create incredible memories that will last a lifetime.

OUR MISSION OUR MISSION

We are up against many challenges compounded by COVID, the national economic landscape, and our department's reliance on philanthropic giving to meet the University budget shortfalls is significantly increasing. The Athletics Business Office estimates institutional funding will only cover 47% of our team's

2023-2024 annual operating needs. This means we are required to fundraise $31,107.41 this year. Coach Kemp's goal is $45,000 so we can further enhance the experience we offer. Much goes on behind the scene to provide the players with the type of experience that leads to competing for a Little Three, NESCAC, and NCAA Championship

The program relies on fundraising to help cover the basic operational costs for uniforms, practice gear, protective equipment, sticks, team meals, team travel, team travel apparel, team film services, recruiting expenses and more. This is essential to running a D3 sports program at Wes.

Success on the field can be traced to every day actions off the field, including eating right. Giving a team meal helps us provide more high quality nutrition and a better experience for our Cardinals. Options come in many forms; hosting the team at your home, gifting a meal on the road, and more.

COACHING STAFF

Full Time Assistant Coaches

A good coaching staff can provide our players with the best learning opportunities possible. Assistant coaches do more than help in practice. They mentor players both on and off the field and serve as the liasion to the head coach. Assistants help aid in the recruiting process as well as helping with day to day tasks, allowing the head coach to focus on the bigger picture and for all players to receive greater attention on and off the field.

Rally behind the Cardinals attack by pledging any amount from $1 and up per goal we score this season! As a bonus, your pledge will be matched (up to $100 per goal!). As a reference, we scored 34 goals last season, but certainly aspire to not only hit that mark, but surpass it this coming season!

When challenged, Wes Cardinals fly higher! We break records, celebrate championships, and hoist coveted trophies at the end of seasons. We share this success with donors who similarly believe in the transformative power of a competitive college athletics program. However, we also face challenges off the fields, courts, tracks, and pool meeting ongoing team budget needs precipitated by institutional funding shortfalls and an inflationary economic landscape.
