Pensions Freedom could be liberating but without expert advice, it could be costly Important pension changes came into effect this April, and with the right advice, there could be financial benefits. Explore the possibilities We’re here to help you make the right decisions. By understanding your circumstances, and listening to exactly what you’d like to achieve, we can help you to understand and benefit from the financial freedom available to you. From April 2015 you can choose to cash in your saved pension if you are over the age of 55. After all it’s your money…for you to spend as you wish, and we never forget that. Pensions are tax efficient investments, so you may decide to explore a whole range of other investment options before accessing your pension. Our experts are here to explain all of the different options available to you - so that you can make the right choices. Should I buy an annuity? It's not an obligation, but it's still an alternative. Or should I do nothing and wait? Could be the right decision, as long as you have an idea about what you’re potentially waiting for and a good understanding of what you’re potentially missing out on. We’re here to put you in control of your own future, by equipping you with the detail you need to decide.

2

Advice from the experts Our financial experts will help you plan for your retirement. We’ll explain your options clearly and advise the most tax-efficient routes to achieve your goals. We’ll guide you through the advice services we offer, our charges, and we’ll put you in touch with your local Financial Adviser from NFU Mutual, who can advise on NFU Mutual products and selected products from specialist providers. Things you should remember The tax treatment of pensions depends on individual circumstances and may change in the future. The value of your investment can rise or fall, and you may get back less than you invest. Pensions Freedom could make a positive impact on your retirement plans. His dramatic seascapes are a unique blend of abstract and pure realism and are in private collections around the world. Amanda Thomas is a Harpenden based author, historian and linguist who has advised on the BBC's Who Do You Think You Are and The One Show. Her passion for history and heritage has led to her latest book, Cholera, which uncovers the story of the disease that devastated the Victorian population, and brought about major changes in sanitation. Drawing on scientific research and a wealth of archival material, Amanda uses first-hand accounts, blending personal stories with an overview of the history of cholera and its devastating after effects on British society. Also revealing that Victorian theories about the disease may be closer to the truth than we might assume: contaminated drinking water and human transmission may not be the whole story. This fascinating book will appeal to both general and social history enthusiasts, taking a new, accessible approach to a topic previously covered predominately by academic researchers. The book is available to buy on-line and in all good bookshops.
