Considerate Constructors Scheme As a Client Partner of the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), Quintain is committed to promoting 'Construction Best Practice' by endorsing its principles and values across Wembley Park, with registration in the scheme being obligatory for all new contractors.

Monitored on a daily basis, the CCS's code of practice focus on the following aspects: - Care about Appearance - Respect the Community - Protect the Environment - Secure everyone's Safety - Value their Workforce

The average combined scores from across the four framework contractor's sites are outlined below: - McAleer & Rushe - McLaren - Sisk - Wates

Nationally only 27% of sites in the scheme scored 40 or more points, which is the benchmark for Wembley Park and is categorised as "Excellent" by CCS. All four contractors met this, and in some areas were marked as "Exceptional"

Xmasbox has landed in Wembley Park Xmasbox, Wembley Park's seasonal programme of free events is now underway. Wrapping Up For 2018 Celebrating the local community with our Contractor Community Framework programme

As 2018 draws to a close we reflect back on the year & celebrate some key community programmes alongside school engagement projects delivered by construction contractors Alandale, McLaren, McAleer & Rushe, Sisk, Wates, O’Keefe, Huber and Volkerfitzpatrick.

School engagement One of the most significant projects this year has been a playground refurbishment at Ark Academy. A huge amount of work was delivered by the team at O’Keefe, with funding raised by developer Quintain, Wembley Park contractors, Hilton London Wembley and through the school itself. The children were delighted and wrote notes to the team to thank them for their hard work and hours of volunteering.

Quintain has partnered with Prospects and Enabling Enterprise to deliver a series of employability workshops throughout 2018-2019 with students from local schools, helping them to refine their skills for success at work. Members of Quintain including Angus Dodd, CEO, have volunteered throughout many of the sessions.

Quintain has also worked with local schools to decorate hoardings in Wembley Park. With support from professional local

artists, the activity raised awareness of the importance of Health and Safety in construction as part of the Health and Safety week.

Wembley Park Community Fund and local fundraising activities 20 projects were funded throughout 20172018 via the Wembley Park Community fund, a grant of up to £10,000 awarded to various organisations in Brent. Grants were awarded to Musicus CIC, Work Rights Centre & Global Skills Centre alongside new arts, creative and skills projects. £182,539 has been awarded so far.

Wembley Park contractors supported fundraising events for local organisations and national campaigns, providing volunteers for local charities and organisations. Quintain hosted its annual football tournament in Wembley Park, with funds going towards a local organisation.

Engineering Apprentice "Before I was an apprentice, I was at school but now I get to make money while I’m learning. I would recommend a career in construction because there are so many opportunities available across London, and you get to work with people really experienced in the industry."

Apprentice Plumber "They’ll throw you in it, you’ll learn as you go but that’s the nature of the job. They will teach you everything you need to know. If you work hard, you’ll get through it. You’ve got so much support, they want you to pass."

Getting into construction Quintain is delivering a range of educational sessions and workshops to encourage entry into the construction industry, in partnership with Wembley Park’s contractors and sub-contractors.

Quintain are proud to have over 50 construction apprentices working at Wembley Park, with Brent residents making up 35% of the total workforce on site.

Progress & planned works Olympic Way

Boxpark Wembley Contractor: RG Group

The progress of Boxpark Wembley, which opened on 8th December 2018, housing 27 food and beverage providers, a 20,000 sq ft events space and 2,000 person capacity venue.

Progress to date includes: - Planning permission granted on 14 February 2018 - RG Group appointed as the Principal Contractor - Foundations, frame and façade complete - Service connections complete Key works taking place this quarter: - External landscaping ongoing - External advertising to be installed Completion - Winter 2018

Contractor: Wates CCS Score: 46/50 Construction underway to deliver 361 residential units, retail, community space and public realm.

Progress to date includes: - Concrete frame complete - All residential blocks are watertight with brickwork complete and scaffolding removed - Utility connections complete and the buildings energised - 138 apartments and two retail units handed over to date Key works taking place this quarter: - Envac installation on going internally and externally on Market Square - Paving and water features are to be complete in Weavers Walk - Handover of 223 apartments and 5 retail units to be completed Completion - Phased September 2018 March 2019

Contractor: McLaren Construction CCS Score: 44/50 Works continue to deliver 340 residential units and retail at ground floor level.

Progress to date includes: - All windows installed - Fitting out works including partitions, mechanical and electrical progressed to all floors - Continuation of brickwork installation - Installation of the waste disposal system

Key works taking place this quarter: - Continuation of internal fit out - Continuation of envelope installation - Scaffold strike along the Wembley Park Boulevard and Spanish steps elevation - Balcony installation - Crane dismantle Completion - Autumn 2019

Contractor: McLaren Construction CCS Score: 45/50 The site will comprise two buildings, one being 150 homes and the second consisting of a 126,000 sq ft office block.

Progress to date includes: - Completion of concrete frame and floor slabs - Envelope installation for the glazing support system - Installation of the waste disposal system - Fitting out works including partitions, mechanical and electrical to Level 8 Key works taking place this quarter: - Crane dismantle - Continuation of the envelope installation and brickwork to help give the building a full waterproof seal - Completion of scaffold erection - Completion of a benchmark apartment - Roof landscaping and finishes Completion dates: W06 A – Summer 2019

South West Lands (SWL) Contractors: McAleer & Rushe CCS Score: 43/50 and 45/50 Construction work continues on site, which will consist of 775 homes.

Progress to date includes: - External brickwork & windows on the first building now complete with the scaffolding removed & balconies fitted - The first tower crane has been removed - The frames of the second two buildings are nearing completion & external brickwork is well progressed - Most of the bathrooms fitted - The 4th building is progressing well - Block 5 concrete frame at its early stages Key works taking place this quarter: - The majority of scaffolding will be removed from the first building - The external landscaping works will commence in January - The brickwork & windows to the 2nd & 3rd buildings will be largely progressed Completion - Phase One - Autumn 2019

Contractor: Huber CCS 41/50 Delivery of a 290 coach & 733 multi-storey car park Progress to date includes: - All ground works complete inclusive of piling - Handover of Section 1 & 2 from groundworkers O’Keefe to Huber - Completion of the Network Rail boundary works
