Vets put forward plan to build new surgery A VETS practice hopes to build a new surgery at Cathedral Park, Wells, and create 12 jobs in the process. Shepton Vets has submitted plans to Mendip District Council for a single-storey veterinary practice on land between office buildings used by the Aster Group and Old Mill accountants. Having grown up in Wells, been a pupil at the Blue School and played football and golf in the city, Martin Law, a director at Shepton Vets, is looking forward to doing something for the community in return. “I’m passionate about Wells and feel quite bonded to the area,” he said. “Having a vets practice in Wells has been a bit of an aspiration. There are several of us at the practice that have grown up here and been educated in Wells and Shepton and we are all really excited about providing a service, and doing our very best, for the people and pets of Wells.” If it gets the go ahead, the new Continued on page 2
