Easter Activities
Egg and Spoon Race: The egg and spoon race is a very common, but fun activity to play during Easter. All you need are some organic eggs and a spoon! Place one egg on the mouth of the spoon while placing the handle of the spoon in your mouth. Race with family and friends to see who gets the furthest without dropping the egg!
Easter egg Hunt: An Easter egg hunt is a fun activity to play for all ages! Buy fake (plastic) Easter eggs. Place chocolate or other treats inside the egg and place them around an area of your choosing; in shrubs, under trees, behind pillows etc.Send your family and friend to look for these eggs! The objective: whoever gets the most eggs *arguably* wins!

Students in hybrid
KELLY "I PICKED HYBRID BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO STAY HOME ANYMORE. DURING ONLINE LEARNING, I WAS SITTING IN MY ROOM ALONE ALL DAY LONG WITH NO ONE TO INTERACT WITH, BUT WITH HYBRID EVEN THOUGH WE SOCIAL DISTANCE, I AM STILL SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE , SO I'M NOT ALONE."
MARLEE
“I PICKED HYBRID AND I PICKED BECAUSE I MISSED SCHOOL AND MY FRIENDS TO BE IN PERSON. I ALSO KNEW IT WOULD BE BETTER FOR ME IN THE END IF I COULD REALLY TALK TO MY TEACHER AND ASK FOR HELP AND ALL THAT STUFF SO YEAH"
LEAH "I CHOSE TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN'T REALLY HANG OUT ON CAMPUS I THINK IT'S GOOD TO BE SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE, AND I THINK EVERYONE NEEDS TO GET OUT MORE AND NOT BE WORRYING ABOUT THE POSSIBILITIES OF GETTING SICK ALL THE TIME. ALSO, I WOULD MUCH RATHER SPEND TIME WITH MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY THAN BEING SCARED OF WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN."
JIYA "I picked hybrid because I was really looking forward to coming back to school and actually seeing people in person, Although it's not the same as before, it's much better than being isolated as we have been for the past year."
TANVI "I chose hybrid because I really wanted to get to know the school especially because this is my first year at wells and I didn't want to go into seventh grade not knowing any of the buildings and I also really wanted to see my friends."
ARIANA " The reason I chose hybrid was that for me it's easier to learn in person and, I wanted to see some of my classmates and teachers."
OLIVIA " I chose Hybrid, now full-time hybrid because I need to get out of the house and also I can get way more work done when I'm not distracted by things on my desk".
" I chose Hybrid because I thought that it would stop me from being distracted and would give me a better experience with learning. This year has been one of the toughest years on the curriculum side and especially with math. Also, I really wanted to see a lot of people that I haven't really connected with in forever ".
JAMES

Students doing distance learning
CAILYN “I CHOSE DISTANCE LEARNING BECAUSE I'VE GOTTEN USED TO WORKING AT HOME AND I DON'T WANT TO TRANSITION SO SUDDENLY"
GIANNA " I choose distance learning because this year because since there are only two months left of school, I would stay at home and do school and wait till next year plus I wouldn't want to get exposed to covid."
YMA "I chose to do distance learning because I became used to doing everything at home, and it would work better with my parent's schedule. Switching in the middle of the year would feel weird to me. Also, I like that distance learning allows me to sleep in and be in the comfort of my own home. I know that precautions are being taken place for the students doing hybrid, but I still think distance learning is the safer option for me at the moment".
“I CHOSE DISTANCE LEARNING BECAUSE I KNEW I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO WAKE UP EARLY ENOUGH FOR THE HYBRID. I ALSO JUST LIKE THE FREEDOM OF DOING SCHOOL AT HOME. IT HELPS ME FEEL MORE RELAXED"
JAYNA
“I CHOSE DISTANCE LEARNING BECAUSE I WANTED TO BE SAFE AND NOT TAKE A CHANCE WITH GETTING EXPOSED TO COVID".
SEHER
“I CHOSE DISTANCE LEARNING BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE ANY CHANCES OF GETTING COVID. ESPECIALLY BECAUSE I AM SURROUNDED BY MY FAMILY AND I DON'T WANT TO GET THEM SICK. ALSO GOING TO SCHOOL IS USELESS BECAUSE YOU STILL HAVE TO GO ON ZOOM. SO I SEE NO POINT IN GOING TO SCHOOL IN PERSON. I WILL GO TO SCHOOL NEXT YEAR CONSIDERING IT WILL BE MY LAST YEAR AT WELLS, BUT IT DEPENDS ON THE COVID 19 CASES."
RYLAN
" I choose to do distance learning because I believe that it is safer at the moment. Also because there were only two months left, and I didn't want to change anything for the last two months of school because I'm used to how things are."

Marinara pasta
Marinara pasta Ingredients: kosher salt 1 28-ounce can whole peeled San Marzano tomatoes , with purée 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil 4 garlic cloves , peeled and smashed 1 tablespoon tomato paste 1 teaspoon kosher salt 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 2 sprigs fresh basil or oregano , plus more basil for garnish 1 pound dried penne pasta , or other favorite pasta of your choice
Marinara pasta Step 1: Bring a large pot of water to a boil and season generously with kosher salt. Step 2-Meanwhile, begin preparing the marinara. Pour the tomatoes and purée into a bowl and crush with your hands or the the back of a spoon, then set aside. Step 3: In a large cold skillet, add the extra-virgin olive oil and garlic cloves, and bring to medium heat. As the garlic begins to sizzle, stir occasionally, and cook until fragrant and golden, about 5 minutes. Monitor the heat so the garlic doesn't cook too quickly or burn. Step 4: Very carefully stir the tomato paste into the garlic and oil—take care so the oil doesn't splatter and burn you as the paste is added—and cook for 1-2 minutes. Carefully spoon the tomatoes into the pan with the oil and paste and season with salt and pepper. Add the basil sprigs and bring to a boil. Reduce to a bubbling simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes. Stir to mix the oil that rises to the top, then discard the basil sprigs and garlic.
Step 5: Meanwhile, cook the pasta in the boiling water until 2 minutes shy of suggested cooking time on the packaging. Use a slotted spoon or spider to transfer the pasta directly to the sauce to continue cooking until tender but still toothy. Toss the pasta to coat it well, and add 1-2 tablespoons of the pasta water if needed to extend the sauce. Garnish with fresh basil and serve.
