revitalised Wellington College Memorial Hall and Auditorium project will commence in 2013, following the completion of a keenly contested design project.

The College was very well served by the commitment and creativity of all five finalists, said the Headmaster, Roger Moses. He went on to describe the contending designs – drawn from some of Wellington’s leading architecture firms – as thoughtful and informed. We were looking for a design that was robust, functional and which embodied the spirit of our school, today, yesterday and tomorrow. Any funds previously raised have been held in safekeeping and they’ll be joined by additional support as we work towards our first Assembly in the new building. Wellington College Chairman Neil Quigley said the Board of Trustees unanimously signed off on the project at its final meeting of 2011 and he looked forward to more detailed specifications being available in the New Year. This is a project which will benefit every boy in the school, and the College as an entity, looking ahead to the College’s 150th celebrations.
