Chamber of Commerce LETTER FROM THE ARTHUR & DISTRICT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE Small communities like ours, here in Wellington North, have to work hard to be successful. The business sector, which drives the Chamber of Commerce both financially and with time, is annually improving the downtown core with flowers, flags and business promotions to ensure a pleasant experience for residents as well as a good first impression for passers through. With community sports events drawing new people to our towns, we strive to provide interesting shopping and dining experiences for parents and families to take advantage of during down time between games.

We cover all sports that might also interest you. Whether you’re an adult looking for a little exercise and a lot of socializing we’ve got a seasonal sporting option for you. For kids, we can offer them many sporting options as well as summer camps. The Arthur Chamber is working on some fantastic and exciting things for our community this year. With new ideas ever flowing, we anticipate our Centennial year to make an impact on the direction that our village will be heading for years to come.
The social Clubs and the Churches in our communities do a great deal to raise funds with the same goal in mind, to make our town a place to return to year after year. The newest project that is being added to Arthur, a Splash Pad, has only been possible through hard work of community members, Service Clubs and support of a fantastic idea.
Working together with other groups and welcoming new Chamber members, we hope to improve our community even more, making this not only a destination village, also a forever home for new families.

A wide variety of recreational opportunities are available within the Township. The Arthur & Area Community Centre contains a 185’ x 85’ ice surface, a Lower Hall with a licenced capacity of 500 and an Upper Hall with a capacity of 160. The Mount Forest & District Sports Complex which opened in 2008 contains an NHL size ice surface, walking track and numerous rental rooms. The Community Hall has a licenced capacity of 430 people and the Leisure Hall can hold 120. Various meeting rooms are available to fit 35 to 95 people.

Both Arthur & Mount Forest have excellent curling clubs, large outdoor swimming pool facilities, lawn bowling clubs, snowmobile clubs, baseball and download your copy of the Leisure Calendar diamonds, soccer pitches and children’s playgrounds. These facilities are supported by vibrant minor hockey, minor ball and soccer associations and community service groups that organize youth athletic activities all year long. Karate, Tae Kwon Do, dance and other programs are also offered. In Arthur there is an excellent lacrosse program and in Mount Forest a skateboard park is available.
