Teddy's First Day in Reception

It was a bright, sunny day and Teddy was very excited.

Today was the day that he would be joining his new Reception Class at Wellingborough School.

Teddy was up and dressed very early. Cat was fast asleep. Be careful Teddy, don't wake Cat!

Teddy had a lovely big breakfast and thought about the day ahead. He hoped he would meet lots of new friends.

The Head teacher and lots of friends were outside when Teddy arrived. Everyone said 'hello'.

Teddy's Class teacher showed him where to hang his coat and where to put his wellington boots.

The Reception Class was called Butterflies and Teddy knew that he would soon make lots of friends.

Some children had already been at the Nursery at Wellingborough School, so they would help Teddy to find his way around.

At break time Teddy and his friends had a snack and some drinks. Then they all went outside to play.

After break, it was time to see the outside learning area. Teddy and his friends did some counting. How many butterflies did they see?

At lunchtime, Teddy and his friends all sat together. There was so much lovely food and Chef helped them to choose what to have.

In the afternoon, they had story time. Everyone sat on the mat and Teddy was allowed to choose the story!

He chose a book about space and the teacher talked to them about it afterwards. They all listened very carefully.

Teddy and his friends had a busy time making paintings. The teacher hung some on the wall.

The day is over and Teddy is tired but very happy. What a lovely first day he has had. He waves to his friends 'Bye bye, see you tomorrow'.

Bye bye for now Teddy!
