hello FR O M KRI S T I

Hola!

I’m writing this after spending four wonderful days in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I woke up this morning relaxed, recharged, and ready for just about anything that might be thrown at me! This trip was unique in that it was for travel professionals from across the Rio Grande Valley, a FAM tour (short for familiarization) sponsored by the airline, Aeromar, and the hotel, the Westin Resort Puerto Vallarta. Did you know you can be in Puerto Vallarta in five hours? It’s a quick trip out of the McAllen International Airport, with direct service via Aeromar to Guadalajara and a quick connecting flight to Puerto Vallarta. And oh, the food! You can’t even begin to believe all the options to tempt and tease your taste buds! We swam with the dolphins, we danced to live music (on multiple occasions), and we shopped (at retail stores, flea markets and craft markets) ‘til we dropped into bed. We took some time to pamper ourselves at the spa, took a cooking class, did a tequila tasting, and toured the city--eating everything we could find along the way!

I boarded the plane last Thursday with five strangers and came home Sunday with great friends. We shared an experience I will never forget, and with that, they are now part of my story! If you’d like more information about a trip to Puerto Vallarta, let us know! We can get you all set up! • We’re just connecting the dots,

Kristi

I

t was a lively Thanksgiving at Eldorado Acres in Palmview. Nearly 90 residents turned out to enjoy turkey and ham--donated by the Martin family, owners of the resort--and all the trimmings. While the cook prepared the traditional fare, the attendees brought all kinds of goodies to contribute to the meal. “Everyone brought something. We had so much food,” Activity Director

Sandy Rogers hugs and thanks a group from Bit-O-Heaven as they deliver donations for a holiday drive in support of Penitas Community Food Pantry.
