hello FROM KRISTI
I can’t tell you how excited I am about this season! It has been a long time since we were all able to gather together, and I’m ready to see all our Winter Texan friends! We stayed busy this summer by hosting monthly meetings for our RV resort managers at different parks throughout the Rio Grande Valley. These meetings keep us all connected, moving forward, and informed of what other resorts are doing and are planning to do. We also brought back our Summer Supper Club, which was so fun, trying new places and meeting new friends. Summer Supper Club is simply a way to get out of cooking. We select a different restaurant each week and invite all of our Converted Texan friends to join us. Our grand finale--our last supper-was held just last weekend at Riverside Club in Mission, and over 130 people joined us to celebrate! If that was any indication of what this season is going to look like, then it’s time to dust off my party hat! Whether you are already in the Rio Grande Valley or reading this online from afar, I want you to know your safety is our top priority here in South Texas. We have plenty of options for things to do, all at your own comfort level. So join us this season, one way or another, and let’s have fun in the sun! • We’re just connecting the dots,
Kristi

yrics from the 1970s Kool & the Gang hit song, “Celebration,” perfectly describe what was going on at the Riverside Club Saturday, October 2—”There’s a party going on right here!” Nearly 150 people filled the large dining room--leaving just enough space for a dance floor-and the adjacent river-view dining area. The rooms were filled with laughter, chatter, and dancing to live entertainment by Curt James. This celebration was the culmination of Welcome Home R.G.V.’s 2021 Summer Supper Club.

Summer Supper Club is the brain child of Curt Riester (a.k.a. Curt James). For the past five months, Riester has hosted crowds at a

The goal: to engage the summer crowd while supporting local restaurants. It was a natural fit, considering Riester’s newfound career as an entertainer since retiring from the restaurant industry. “As a restaurant manager, I would have loved to have had a group of 20 to 40 people show up any day during SUMMER SUPPER CLUB 2021 CONTINUED ON PAGE 4 >>
