Round

two of Communities on Parade is this Friday! At Welcome Home RGV, we want to make finding your home away from home as simple as can be. Many of our parks have open houses throughout the season, and I know that most would love to give you a property tour during business hours – but at Welcome Home RGV, we’ve made it even easier. We created a Valleywide event that boasts over twenty RV resorts that all have an open house on the same day. That way, you can get your shopping done all in one day! Many of our resorts are offering move in specials, incentives and my personal favorite – a referral program. While you are out and about, grab a few extra brochures on the park you plan to call home next season, and give them to your friends and family who are interested in South Texas. We’d love to have them here with us next year! Whether you are looking for a new resort or you plan on staying put, we appreciate your choosing South Texas this winter! • We’re just connecting the dots,

Kristi

Lemon Tree RV Quilts of Valor welcome home 21 veterans

Story and Photos by Eryn Reddell-Wingert

I

t was a packed house at the Lemon Tree RV Inn Reception Hall in Mission Saturday, February 16, for their Quilts of Valor presentation. The day’s special event started with a new veterans’ board unveiling, and an empty chair was moved into place in front of the display to honor those who did not return home from war. The ceremony continued with the presentation of 21 handmade quilts, as part of the Quilts of Valor Foundation’s mission, which is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. The Lemon Tree RV Inn presented quilts made by resident quilters to 20 U.S. veterans and one Canadian who served as far back as the Korean War.
