Time to do some bragging!
I’m so excited to announce that our graphic designer, Jenny Carpenter, came home last week with a silver ADDY award, awarded by the Rio Grande Valley Chapter of the American Advertising Federation! Jenny is the creative link to all you see, from designing the annual Winter Texan Living publication to this weekly newspaper... and everything in between. Jenny is invaluable to our team! She’s responsible for making all of our crazy ideas ‘look pretty,’ which isn’t nearly as easy as it sounds! We got to get dressed up and attend the cocktail party where the awards were presented. We were notified in advance that we had won, but we weren’t sure which submission was the winner. (We submitted several for consideration.) The suspense was killing us all! I was so happy to learn that the advertisement and collateral material for our 1st Annual Winter Texan Homecoming was what got the judges’ attention. Congratulations and many thanks to Jenny, who loves you all as much as I do and that, my friends, is a whole lot! • We’re just connecting the dots,
Kristi

wanted ad for activity director. Sounds like a cushy job, right? Organize a few things for the retired people to do, keep the calendar current, hire some entertainment and bands for dances, sit back and enjoy, right? NOT!!! A good activity director is the heart of the park. They realize they have the privilege of creating a fun-filled time for retirees who are not ready ONE PERSON’S OPINION CONTINUED ON PAGE 15 >>
