I am in my second year of Master of Architecture Track 3 program at University of Illinois. Based on the previous experience of civil engineering knowledge, I perceive architecture in a more realistic approach. Instead of considering the abstract form, the user expericence of the space is the most important design element I am looking for. I always us simple, repeated modules to develop into lager scale, even the whol project, keeping the idea that everything is composed by one, simple element and compose in rational way.

HOME HOTEL Champaign downtown has very strong connection with university. It is not only giving the entertainment to students but also providing the living spaces for tons of families who are visiting thier child at UIUC. However, living in hotel is sitll not as comfortable as living homebecause of not enough space for garheringfor cooking, etc. Therefore, my goal is to creatthe hotel which has the program can fit everymember in the family. It is very easy to accessto the building so that will not confused any age in families. Also make lots of gathering space for different families at the same floor to share experience and interaction. Not only students can make friends in school, also family membercan have a new friend while visiting campus as well. SUNRISE

June 21th September 21th December 21th
After I analyze this image producing from ladybug, I found that the altitude angle of sun will be lowest in December. Also, the azimuth angle is becoming bigger from June to December. Moreover, there is lots of shadow covering our site in December comparing to the others months, so the the usage of daylight will be much important in December. By comparing to the sunrise and the sunset times in one day, the light from sunrise will occupy more footprint than sunset does. Therefore, I will design more lovenor system on the East side.

DAKOTA PERFORMING CENTER The concept is focused on performance of Lakota, including dance and music, which played an important role in Lakota SiouxĘźs culture. Dances have always been significant in the lives of Native Americans as both a common amusement and a solemn duty. Many dances played a vital role in religious rituals and other ceremonies; while others were held to guarantee the success of hunts, harvests, giving thanks, and other celebrations. In addition, dancing always comes out with music, including sounds from drum and voice from Lakota people, producing the temple that allow to fit with dance movement. However, although there are various types of dance in ceremony, some of them are still banned from the U.S. government because of religious offense

Therefore, I want to create the space for Lakota people dancing and playing music comfortably, just like what theyʼve done back then. Also included the education and housing for resident who want to inherit this art. Through these dance, music and regalia of traditional wear, the performing center will reveal the importance of the movement, bringing back the traditional perspective for the visitor and the tribe themselves. Not only expose this culture to the world, but also trying to combine the dance with mainstream music, making it more attractive. The performing center is composed by different parts, including auditorium, music center, the regalia workshop, research center, apartment for trainers, with the gallery which can introduce the dancing pattern of development. In this center, the visitor can experience, appreciating, acting the dance, with the different kind of music whether in traditional way or future one.

This project is designing the media museum located at the site at Chicago. Media is the substance that can tranport the idea, fitting in any form. Sometimes, it becomes a barrier to see the entire thing. However, the barrier also create the different experience by overcomming these obstacles. The inspiration is from the wall at IIT student service hall and developed it into construction. Crowded Concentrate Transparent
