“Young Frankenstein” a Raucous, Riotous Romp at the Playhouse
“Roll in the Hay” number in “Young Frankenstein” at Ogunquit Playhouse features (left to right) John Bolton, Will Burton and Hannah Cruz.
By Nancye Tuttle, Staff Writer OGUNQUIT Just in time for Halloween hijinks, “Young Frankenstein” soars onto the Ogunquit Playhouse’s Leary Pavilion stage in all its hilarious glory — and what a lusty, high-spirited, fun-filled romp it is. From the show’s start with Dr. Frederick Frankenstein warbling the tongue-twister “The Brain” to his medical students to the “Finale Ultimo” with the
entire cast, it’s non-stop laughs and sheer escape. “Young Frankenstein” got its start as a 1974 comic horror film from the brilliant minds of Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder. It starred Wilder as the crazed young physician, with a great supporting cast including Peter Boyle (the Monster), Marty Feldman (Igor), Madeline Kahn (Elizabeth), Cloris Leachman (Frau Blucher) and Teri Garr (Inga).
Survey Says This Year’s Costumes will be DIY STATEWIDE Three in four Americans plan to celebrate Halloween this year, according to Goodwill’s annual Halloween Survey. Meanwhile, many big box stores have few costumes on the racks because of international supply chain issues. This makes 2021 the best year ever to DIY a Halloween costume. “Halloween is Goodwill’s busiest season as customers embrace do-it-yourself costume and décor shopping at thrift stores,” said Rich Cantz, the President and CEO Goodwill Northern New England.

As many people plan to partake in traditional Halloween activities this year, safety concerns around COVID-19 loom over the season. A majority of Americans (73%) say overall safety concerns due to the pandemic will have some impact on their Halloween plans this year. Most say their plans will be affected a lot (32%) or somewhat (29%). Roughly two-thirds of adults indicate their Halloween plans will be impacted to some extent by concerns with unvaccinated family members, friends or neighbors (67%) and/or the inability of children ages 12 and younger to get vaccinated (65%). The survey also found that two-thirds (66%) of adults who prefer DIY costumes say they or members of their household turn to social media and websites for DIY costume ideas and inspiration. The survey also found that Halloween costumes based on pop culture trends or characters from TV, movies, video games or books are the most popular among respondents planning to dress up this year. Twenty-eight percent preferred these kinds of costumes this year, followed by iconic Halloween costumes, such as witches, ghosts, zombies or werewolves (25%), and very unique, one-of-a-kind costumes

The film, which Brooks described as his best, parodied the horror movie genre, especially the Universal Pictures 1930’s adaptations of Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” and “Son of Frankenstein.” Brooks, Thomas Meehan, and choreographer Susan Stroman created the stage version in 2007, with music and lyrics by Brooks; and it ran on Broadway to mixed reviews until 2009. The Playhouse staged it in 2013, with John Bolton creating the role of young Frankenstein, a part that he re-creates with verve and gusto in the current production. The plot revolves around Dr. Frankenstein, a New York medical doctor and teacher who has dismissed his great-grandfather Victor’s assertion that he can bring the dead back to life. But, while in Transylvania to settle his departed ancestor’s estate, he gets interested in the family business — one that involves grave robbing— and brings a dead man back to life, See ROMP page 12...

Whatever your plans, thrift stores are a one-stop shop with a wide range of Halloween merchandise,” Cantz said. Check out your local thrift and consignment stores! verely invasive plants: Stiltgrass (Microstegium vinimeum) and Perennial Pepperweed (Lepidium latifolium). The plants are only known from a handful of sites in Maine, and the goal is to eliminate them from the state. The public can help by looking for the plants and reporting any suspected locations. Stiltgrass is an annual grass that takes over the forest floor. Stiltgrass thatch builds up and makes it difficult for native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers to establish and grow. The thatch also raises fire risk. Infestations grow rapidly as each plant can produce up to a thousand seeds spreadable by moving water, deer, contaminated soil, dirty boots, or

dirty equipment. Two locations of Stiltgrass were detected for the first time in Maine in 2020. Perennial Pepperweed (aka Perennial Pepperwort) is an herbaceous plant that can take over sensitive habitats in salt marshes and sandy beaches. These are rare habitats in Maine and home to rare wildlife. When Perennial Pepperweed takes over, it can make the habitat unsuitable. Perennial Pepperweed can also grow in roadsides, riverbanks, and freshwater marshes. There are dense infestations of Perennial Pepperweed in Massachusetts, but only a handful of sites are known in Maine and New Hampshire. The most valuable assistance is to review the MNAP Web Gallery at www.maine. gov/dacf/mnap/features/invasive_plants/invasives_gallery. htm and the GoBotany website at https://gobotany.nativeplanttrust.org/ to become familiar with the plants and then email suspect photos and location descriptions to invasives.mnap@ maine.gov. Newly detected Stiltgrass or Perennial Pepperweed should be removed to keep these invasive plants from damaging Maine’s treasured forests and wetlands. DACF will offer support and guidance to affected landowners. Key traits to identify Stiltgrass: Leaves are alternate along the stem, 2-4” long and ½” wide, pointed at both ends; Stripe of reflective hairs along the leaf midrib; Leaf edges and surfaces feel smooth to the touch; Trails along the ground, branching from nodes where it produces “stilts” (roots); Shallow-rooted and easy to pull up; Flowers and sets seed late in the season (Sep-

Key traits to identify Perennial Pepperweed: Leaves are alternate along the stem, lance-shaped, get smaller closer to the top of the plant; Lower leaves have gentle teeth around the edges; leaves higher on the stem may lack teeth; Stems are smooth and lime green, usually 1-4 feet tall, often multiple stems from one base; Small white flowers with four petals in dense clusters at the top of the plant (late June to late July); tiny fruits are reddish-brown, flat and disc-like; Roots have a strong smell like horseradish.

albeit creating a fire-fearing Monster, who terrorizes the village. Shelley’s “Frankenstein” was sheer horror, while Brooks’ “Young Frankenstein” is done strictly for laughs, full of great comic timing under Jeff Whiting’s astute direction. (He was the Broadway show’s associate director, working with Brooks and Stroman, and their comedic chops rubbed off on him). One great showstopping tune follows another in this laugh-a-minute musical, performed by a multi-talented cast who clearly is having a ball. Each is a standout, but especially “Please Don’t Touch Me” by the diva Elizabeth, Frankenstein’s fiancée, played by the fabulously voiced Soara-Joye Ross. The riotous “Together Again” features Bolton’s Frankenstein singing and dancing with the hump-backed Igor, played by the ridiculously funny Will Burton, who is delighted to be performing live again, as he says in his bio. “Roll in the Hay” is a lascivious romp in a realistic-looking, horsedrawn wagon with Frankenstein, the lusty Inge, his lovely assis-
tant played perfectly by Hannah Cruz, and the irrepressible Igor. Playhouse favorite Sally Struthers doesn’t disappoint as Frau Blucher, the castle housekeeper and Victor’s mistress. Her over-the-top rendition of “He Vas My Boyfriend” was a crowd-pleaser and allowed her comic expertise to shine through. Other performances are terrific across the board, including Zachary James as the Monster, whose voice — once he finds it in the fabulous “Puttin’ on the Ritz” tap dance number — is incredible. Design elements, especially Nate Bertone’s great sets and Richard Latta’s terrific lighting, add to the incredible show. The Playhouse has done a stand-out job of bringing live theater back to the seacoast this season — and “Young Frankenstein” is a perfect grand finale. Get on for the ride and check out this monster of a show, on through Halloween. You’ll laugh your pants off and then some, I promise. Call 207-646-5511 or visit www.OgunquitPlayhouse.org for tickets.

Health & Fitness $11M Headed to 18 Health Centers WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Senator Angus King (I-ME) applauded news that 18 Maine community health care centers will receive a total of $11,171,482 to support major health care construction and renovation projects. As Maine continues to see concerning COVID-19 numbers, these funds, awarded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), will bolster health infrastructure and services in medically underserved communities that have been disproportionally affected by the pandemic. The funds are drawn from the American Rescue Plan, which passed in March by a vote of 50-49 with the Senator’s crucial vote. “Throughout the pandemic, our state’s community health centers have stepped up to provide life-saving care for their patients – particularly in medically underserved communities,” said Senator King. “This latest American Rescue Plan funding will strengthen this critical part of our healthcare infrastructure, allowing us to fight COVID-19 and improve healthcare access and services for years to come. I’m grateful for all the hard work our local community health care centers have been doing throughout this pandemic, and I am hopeful that this funding can make a difference for Maine people in need.” M a i ne’s com mu n i...BLOOD from page 16 Church, 34 Portland Road, Kennebunk on October 19, 12-5:30 p.m.. ~ Ask The Computer Lady ~
Dear Computer Lady, The printer I have used for years has broken. I took it to a local shop and they might be able to fix it. I would rather spend money on a printer that works for me than one that isn’t going to do what I need. In thinking that I need to buy a new printer, I did some checking in on line comments and found that many printers don’t do labels. When I called Avery they said they don’t offer recommendations. My new tech friend said he was surprised that my printer does labels without peeling them off. He recommends a printer that moves the paper straight across. This style is available in either a regular printer or a laser. I checked your website to see what you recommend for printing labels and didn’t know what topic to check. I always enjoy your column and usually learn something new. Barb Dear Barb, I have used quite a few printers over the years, both inkjet, and now a color laser printer. I have also printed a lot of labels. Most of them from Avery, but also a few store brand. The only time I have run into problems is if I use inkjet labels on the laser printer (They can’t take the heat of the fuser) It will say right on the package what kind of printer they are made for. long as you are using a full sheet of labels, and the correct type of label for your printer, you should be all set. You start running into problems when you try to print on smaller sheets, or you use the wrong type of label. Elizabeth Dear Computer Lady, Thank you for all the years of information, many of a great help. Now I have a question, do you use an online password program. I have so many different passwords between work and home with loads of pieces of paper with each one on, that I thought maybe this might be the way to go and wonder what you thought of the different ones. I have been getting emails from Dashlane and seeing I know nothing about these thought I would ask you. Thank you, Barb Dear Barb, I have not used dashlane, but I have used an online password manager, lastpass for several years now. I have one master password with Lastpass that I don’t have written down, and I don’t use for other sites. Using this one password, I keep track of all my other passwords. I also use it to store secure notes and information that I need to keep private. Just like Dashlane, Lastpass is free to open an account, but also has a premium version for extra features. Both programs appear to be secure and encrypt

your data so that only you (or someone with your master password) can read it. Elizabeth Dear Computer Lady, I would like to remove the year of my birth on Facebook for everyone to see. I assume the year is going out for the world to know and I would like to have it confidential. Is there a way to remove the year of my birth? I appreciate all the good information you give to us. Thank You, Veona Dear Veona, You don’t have to remove the year of your birth from Facebook (I think they require it to prove that you are over 13 years of age) but you can prevent other people from viewing it, here is how. 1. Go to your Facebook profile page by clicking on your name in the blue bar at the top of the page. 2. Click on “About” under your cover photo. 3. Click on “Contact and basic Info” in the left column. 4. Click on “Edit” to the right of your birth year. (“Edit” will appear when you hover your mouse there). 5. Click the little lock and select “Only Me” instead of Public or Friends. 6. Click on the “Save Changes” button and you will be all set. Elizabeth Dear Computer Lady, I have created a list of emails using the search function in Outlook, giving me about 75 specific emails that contain date, sender/recipient and a couple of lines of the subject. I’d like to printout just that list, and the actual emails. I’ve found a couple of articles about that, but if you have the knowledge of how to do
that, I would very much appreciate your help. Thanks, Larry Dear Larry, I am not an outlook expert, but I would print that list by taking a screenshot and printing it. Then you will probably have to print out the actual emails one at a time. To take a screenshot of your list of emails, click once on the list to make sure Outlook is the selected window, then hold
Watch Out for Blackmailers on Dating Sites Are you using a dating app? Think twice before sending revealing photos or videos. Some con artists are taking a sinister approach to romance scams by blackmailing their victims. How the scam works: You meet someone you are interested in on a dating app. The person sends you explicit photos of themselves and asks you to reply with your own revealing pictures. The FTC reports that this particular scam is especially common on LGBTQ+ dating apps, such as Grindr and Feeld. If you send the images or videos, the scammer then begins to blackmail you. Scammers use your phone number or social media profile to look up names of your friends, family members, and even your workmates or boss. Then, they threaten to send those pictures to your contacts. According to one BBB Scam Tracker report, after a compromising video call, a woman began “blackmailing me, [threatening] to release the

video footage on social media and send it to my friends and family. [Then] a guy took over blackmailing. They were demanding a sum of $3,000.” Scammers often ask for payment via gift card or wired funds – methods that can’t be traced to them and make it impossible for you to recuperate your funds. If you cooperate, you’ll lose your money, and there’s no guarantee the scammers will delete the images and videos. In fact, scammers will likely continue contacting you, asking for more money periodically. How to avoid dating app scams: Never share your personal information with someone you just met. Don’t give your cell phone number, home address, email address, or even your social media profile to a stranger. Wait until you know and trust a person, preferably when you’ve already met them in person. Research your love interest. One telltale sign you’re dealing with a scammer is a stolen profile picture. Do a reverse image search of the person’s profile picture to make sure it isn’t being used under a different name or on multiple profiles. Think before you send photos or videos. Once you send a photo or video, you cannot get it back. Keep in mind that even video calls can be recorded, and use good judgement to protect your reputation. Don’t pay money to scammers. Even if you pay them, you have no guarantee that scammers won’t use the photos or videos anyway. Plus, your money could be funding criminal activity. To learn more about the legitimacy of different dating apps, read the BBB Scam Alert on fake dating services at www.bbb.org. could take care of children when schools went online. The consequences of these decisions may go beyond each individual, though. “They could have large repercussions for the economy, the home, and society as a whole, says Andi Simon (www.andisimon.com), a corporate anthropologist, founder of Simon Associates Management Consultants, and author of the upcoming book Rethink: Smashing the Myths of Women in Business. Some ramifications of this 2020 exodus from the workforce for women could include: A drop in consumer spending. When one spouse loses a job, whatever the reason might be, it means an immediate and sudden drop in income for that household. “The impact on household earnings will lead to reduced spending,” Simon says. “That will have ripple effects throughout the economy.” An impact on women’s careers and advancement. Eventually, many of these women will no doubt go back to work, but how well they will be able to just pick up their careers where they left off could be another matter, Simon says. “Will they have lost ground in the line for promotions to men who didn’t take any time away from work?” she asks. A reduction in demand for family-related industries. When both spouses work outside the home, couples often
need to make use of services that developed or grew because one adult – usually the woman – wasn’t around to take care of certain household duties. For households where a mother is now back in the home, that has changed. “They no longer need to pay someone for childcare services,” Simon says. Changes to retail markets. A woman who stays home with the kids has different needs than a woman who commutes to an office each day, and those differences could be reflected in the world of retail, Simon says. Just as an example, there could be a drop in demand for makeup. Sales of business attire for women may plummet – or at least take a hit as more casual, comfortable clothes become more important wardrobe necessities. Entrepreneurial urges could shift to home businesses. Some women could still keep their career mindsets and try to establish their own businesses run from their homes, Simons says. But she cautions that there are questions about just what those businesses might be since some potential areas – such as marketing, consulting, and business coaching – have seen a downshift in demand for their services. Despite all those concerns, some good can come out of this period as well for women who want a better life both personally and professionally, Simon says.

Why Martinis Would be Better Than Coffee at the Supermarket
By Jim Fabiano In any marriage there are certain responsibilities each partner accepts to make the relationship work. For example it is the man’s responsibility to take care of the outside of the house while it is the woman’s responsibility to take care of the inside of the house. At least that is what I believe. In everyday life the separation of jobs makes the marriage work. The other day I went to Hannaford’s with my wife to pick up a few things for a gathering we were having the next day. I didn’t have a clue as to what we were there to buy because it was my wife’s job to know what we needed for the party. I was simply there to lend a helping hand, load the groceries into
the truck, take them out of the truck and finally place them on the kitchen floor. Every now and then my wife would ask me to find something she couldn’t find or get something she forgot to pick up when she was down another aisle. On this particular day I was asked to go to the deli counter to get some mozzarella balls. I took the job happily because even I couldn’t mess up getting the mozzarella balls. When I got to the deli counter I picked a number and waited my turn. The people behind the counter were, as usual, pleasant and helpful. This rubs off on the customers because I have never seen anyone get upset by having to wait until their number comes up.
After a few minutes it was my turn to order. I confidently stated to the young woman behind the counter that I wanted six mozzarella balls. At the time there was a rather large gentleman beside me who was wearing a brownish t-shirt that advertised a beer called “Pigs Ear Brown Ale.” I assumed it was an acquired taste. No sooner had I ordered the mozzarella balls than the gentleman with the pigs ear beer brown ale T-shirt announced in a loud voice that where he came from they were called the balls of the mozzarella. Everyone on both sides of the deli counter became very quiet after this particular bit of enlightenment. Finding the whole thing a bit strange, and in order to relieve
the tension, I gave out a good laugh. That took the pressure off the man with the pig’s ear brown ale T-shirt but got everybody looking at me instead. Some of them shook their heads as if it was people like me who were at fault for encouraging people like the T-shirt man. After the young lady behind the counter gave me the balls of the mozzarella I took them to my wife. She immediately scolded me because I had purchased the wrong sized mozzarella balls. “They come in different sizes?” I said, in response to her ‘can’t you do anything right look.’ She took my hand and walked me back to the deli counter where, to her surprise, she saw there was only one size of
mozzarella balls. I tried hard not to smirk because being right is not something I am accustomed to in any difference of opinion with my wife. We continued our shopping until she discovered that she hadn’t picked up the two bunches of scallions she needed for some dish she was making for the party. She then sent me on my second mission knowing that the failure of my first mission was not entirely my fault. I arrived at the vegetable section of the grocery store and started looking for bunches of scallions and it was at that moment I realized I had no idea what a scallion was. I immediately sought out a store employee working in the produce section and asked where the scallions See MARTINIS page 28...

WELLS George’s streak of bad luck had finally ended. His previous lifestyle of “hunt or be hunted” was exhausting and terrifying. Luckily George was noticed by a very kind woman who began feeding him. She could not bring him inside due to her own kitties. Instead George was brought to Safe Haven, where he quickly blossomed and endeared himself to everyone. His rugged outdoor lifestyle was evident in his appearance. He was missing patches of fur, his skin was raw in spots, and

He needs to know you will be there as his forever friend, and you will never ever leave him behind. He craves stability, safety, and returned devotion. He is in all trust, ready to be your best friend. The vet guesstimated George is about five, neutered with tiger stripes and clean white markings. His appetite is formidable. He eats like someone who has known what it’s like to be hungry, and he enjoys
his meals with gusto and gratitude. George deserves to be your “only cat” because he’ll want to absorb every ounce of your love and attention. He’ll want you all to himself. Sarah M. Stiles, 58 WELLS / RAYMOND – Sarah M. Stiles passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021, at her residence. Sarah was born September 1, 1963, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, the daughter of Howard James and Eileen McLoughlin Stiles, and was a graduate of the Westover High School, Fayetteville, NC. She went on to earn her nursing degree cum laude from Allentown College of Saint Francis de Sales, PA. Sarah worked at Maine Medical Center in the neonatal unit before following her family tradition of service. Sarah enlisted in the US Air Force, serving in Japan evacuating neonatal intensive care babies back to the United States.
Her medical unit was sent to Northern England to the Royal Air Force station for Operation Desert Storm, during the Gulf War. Saltby Airfield is where her grandfather, Clayton Stiles, an Army Air Corps pilot/United Airline pilot was stationed in World War II working with new pilots getting ready for the invasion of Normandy. After this assignment, she suffered from PTSD. Her family later learned she was a sexual assault victim during a high school summer job at a camp. Her health declined in the past several years. During this time she changed her name from Suzanne Stiles to Sarah Stiles. She resided in Oregon upon leaving the military and worked with the elderly. Most recently, she was employed by St. Andre’s Nursing Home in Biddeford, allowing her to follow her passion for working with the elderly since high school. Sarah loved to journal, keeping a personal record as she moved with her military family, and then through college and beyond. She created and left many poems behind. She was an active member in the AA group

Bernier-Gelinas FUNERAL HOME
Kittery, ME We are often asked by the families we serve, here at JS Pelkey & Son and Bernier Funeral Homes, why certain expressions and traditions exist in the funeral service industry. One of the most often asked questions is “Why send flowers to a memorial service or funeral, aren’t they just a waste of money?” Well nothing could be further from the truth. As my friend Todd Van Beck recently wrote in an article: Flowers are sent to funerals for several reasons. Flowers are a means of expression. It is often difficult for those mourning a death to put feelings into words. Flowers are a visual expression of love, sympathy, and respect. They are a way of lending support and sharing the burden of grief. In addition to sending flowers to the funeral, there is a growing trend to send flowers to the home of the bereaved after the service. Some people also send flowers to the church in memory of the deceased. Flowers create a background of warmth and beauty which adds to the dignity and consolation of the service. Those who have attended services where there were no flowers have noted that something was

missing – that the funeral was depressing. The funeral meets the bereaved’s need for support. Death throws people into despair and depression by separating them from one who has provided love, companionship, and security. The funeral and customs provide the means by which those close to them can give their support and share their suffering. The funeral period provides for the expression of sorrow. Only through talking about the past can the bereaved person realize the extent of the relationship with the deceased, and accept the loss and suffering. Only through weeping and talking to good listeners can they release their grief and feelings of guilt and hostility. Experts in grief therapy believe that it can be expressed best through rites, rituals, and ceremonies. The ceremony deals primarily with intellectual concepts and doesn’t fully engage the

There are three points to be stressed, finally, in connection with the tradition of funeral flowers. First, the role of flowers are both symbolic and aesthetic. They add great value to the richness and meaning of the ritual. Second, flowers represent sympathy extended to the bereaved. Third, flowers are sent to both the living and the dead. They are sent to the living as comfort and as tokens of respect for the deceased. We, at the JS Pelkey & Son and the Bernier Funeral Homes, hold the value of the work our local florists do in very high regard. We always encourage the families we serve to contact a local florist directly. Certainly there are national floral outlets that can be reached with a simple Google search but, honestly, the quality of these products are often substandard. Simply click the “Send Flowers” tab on our website and you will be directed to our list of trusted florists. Please call us about any questions with which we may help.

to find something I never knew existed I sought out another store employee to ask where I could find the olives. Quickly scanning the shelves and making sure that they weren’t in front of me I asked a stock boy where I could find them. He told me they were across from the wine section about half way down the aisle. This made sense because olives have belonged in every martini I have ever been involved with. Maybe that’s what Hannafords should be doing next, I thought. Serving martinis instead of coffee - it would sure make for a lot of happy shoppers. I found the olive section and was shocked to discover that there were many different types of sliced black olives. There were thickly or thinly sliced black olives and there were sliced black olives in water and in oil. I knew I was doomed. Whatever I chose would be wrong. So, I took one of each. Back at the shopping cart that was now bulging with foodstuffs that would be devoured within a few hours the next day I showed the olives to my wife and asked which ones she wanted. My wife looked at the multiple varieties of cans I was holding and told me I did not have the ones she wanted. How was that possible, I thought? I had grabbed every sort of black olive that had ever
been created since the early days of the Greek Empire. Once again my wife led me back to where the olives were displayed, reached into a shelf and pulled out a can of thinly sliced black olives in water. I was impressed. One job I am used to is placing the groceries on the belt at the check-out counter. I never put the heavy stuff on top of the light stuff and I never put something that should stay dry next to something that is wet. As I placed the scallions on the belt my wife told me to tie the bag. OK, I thought. How hard could it be to tie a bag? I grabbed both corners and attempted to tie a knot. The only problem was that I couldn’t get one corner through the other so that the knot I made would actually close the bag. As the line behind us grew longer my wife grabbed the plastic bag from me, spun it around a few times then knotted it neatly. I was impressed and a couple of the people standing in line gave her a brief round of applause. In any marriage there are certain responsibilities each partner accepts to make the relationship work. Grocery shopping is obviously way out of my depth. Jim Fabiano is a retired teacher and writer living in York, and can be reached at james.fabiano60@gmail.com.
...MARTINIS from page 20 were. He gave me an odd look and handed me two bunches of green onions. I then noticed that he was filling up the produce section clearly labeled, ‘scallions.” Proudly, I went back to my wife. I found her at the other end of the store in the frozen food section and triumphantly handed her the two bunches of scallions. She looked at them and then at me. I gave her my ‘what now’ look and she responded by asking me where was the bag that I was supposed to put the scallions in? “Oh,” I responded. “They’re supposed to come in bags?” I hiked all the way back across the store to the produce section, put the scallions in the bags provided in front of all the loose fruits and vegetables and went back to my wife, hoping that I would not be given another task. I was wrong. My wife, now deeply involved with what types of pasta to buy for the pasta salad, asked me to get her a can of thinly sliced black olives. At first I hesitated but then agreed to go out on this newest scouting mission. Not having a clue where
