of exhibitors from across New England and beyond, who attend the event each year bringing a wide assortment of antique farm machinery for visitors to see and enjoy. “This year we are featuring Olds Engines and Ford Tractors, and all makes and models are always welcome,” says President Tom Raitt. “Everything from rusty antique tractors, working tractors right out of the hayfield, to shiny restored tractors come to the show.” “People love watching all the unique displays including the Shingle Mill, Hildreth Woodsplitter, Large Engines and Power. It’s quite a sight to see. Vis-

itors can pick out the perfect souvenir shingle to take home. And the Blacksmith Shop is where you can watch them work the forge and create unique items.” “Hit-n-Miss engines make

the most unique sound and were used to run many different kinds of equipment back in the day,” states Vice President Phil St. Jean. I’ve been a collector of these engines for most of my life.

I enjoy seeing all the different displays each year that our members and exhibitors bring. Popular events are the Tractor Parade and Tractor Pulling that start at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon, and on Sunday morning. There’s plenty to see besides farm machinery. For the kids there is the pedal pull Saturday morning, barrel tractor rides, “kids korner” where they can color and play games, “milk” Betsy the wooden cow and more. Crafters, a flea market, demonstrations at various exhibits like the Colonial Encampment, blacksmith shop and shingle mill. See TRACTORS page 26...
