OGUNQUIT Friends of the Ogunquit Heritage Museum (FOHM) present “Do You Remember?” with Richard Perkins on Sunday, May 20, at the Dunaway Center from 2-4. Richard has promised a new Ode to mark the occasion. The movie “How Rude!” will be shown. Richard will reminisce over his illustrious career. People who have stories of Richard, whether personal or his impact

on their lives, are encouraged to share them. For over 50 years Richard had some of Ogunquit’s most famous (and delicious!) restaurants. Richard was born and raised in Ogunquit and has a very rich history with many people in and around the area. His influence has extended to some of the restaurants and markets still open today. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free but donations are

Hannaford Grants $10,000 to Central School SOUTH BERWICK Central School is grateful for the donation from Hannaford to support their Outdoor Classroom cooking program. Since 2010, students have been planting, maintaining, harvesting, prepping and cooking their own grown vegetables and fruits from the school hoop house and orchard. Kathy Gunst, along with countless local chefs, prep cooks, nutritionists, administrators, parents and community members, has been teaching children the importance of cooking with fresh, local foods.

gratefully accepted. The mission of the Ogunquit Heritage Museum is to preserve and share the history and culture of Ogunquit. OHM will be open June 1 - October 31, Tuesday-Saturday, 1-5 p.m.

A $10,000 check will be presented on May 25 at 10 p.m. in the Central School Gym. The funds will be used to support the Outdoor Classroom and Hoop House. This grant will allow continuation of several annual initiatives that include the Planting of the Green, seasonal cooking classes and the school-wide salad bar on Field Day. In addition, we plan to add a Community Harvest Dinner in the fall that would include sauces, pastas, salad and cobbler made by the students with ingredients from the hoop house and orchard. The grant will help to increase parent involvement to encourage parents to cook healthy meals with their children, and will offer parent/child cooking classes, and a “green thumb” club for students and parents who wish to help maintain the hoop house. These funds will allow purchasing of items that would support these units such as grow lights, vertical gardens, additional garden beds and an increased variety of fruit trees as well as allow for innovative, creative, engaging, meaningful and purposeful encouragement for students to live healthy lives.
