About The Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Recommendations WASHINGTON, D.C. The York Region Chamber of Commerce, the Town of York and the Town of Kittery are actively monitoring updates from the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with the Maine CDC regarding Coronavirus (COVID19). First responders and public safety staff continue to receive information and participate in safety briefings with the Maine CDC. Town employees have been provided with guidance to protect themselves and the public.

What is COVID-19? COVID-19 is a novel (new) coronavirus which was first detected in December 2019 in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China and has now been detected in other countries, including the United States. For some, the respiratory virus causes mild symptoms like the common cold or influenza (flu), for others it can cause severe pneumonia that requires medical care or hospitalization.

What are the symptoms? Symptoms of COVID-19 may include fever, cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat (in some patients). Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure. Most patients experience mild symptoms and can recuperate at home, but others, particularly those with underlying medical conditions, may experience more severe respiratory illness.

Wrestling Team Recognized for Championships WELLS The Wells Ogunquit CSD School Committee recognized the Wells High School Wrestling team on March 4 for being named MPA Class B Team State Champions and Class B Duals State Champions in that new wrestling tournament.
