In order to get a flawless makeup application it is vital to prepare the skin well. Starting with a clean face is key! Before I apply any products on the skin, I use a cleanser or a cleaning wipe to cleanse the skin. Neutrogena wipes (1) are my favorite for cleaning the skin. I use the wipes to clean around the eyes, nose, and lips to take off any leftover makeup or products. Once the face is clean and bare, I like to go in with a moisturizer. Different skin types require different moisturizers. For someone with oily skin, it’s best to use an oil free moisturizer, such as Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizer (2), while someone with dry skin needs a moisturizer with some oil in it. A great moisturizer for dry skin is Eucerin (3). There’s also normal skin, which means skin that is not oily or dry. Cereve (4) has an amazing moisturizer that I really recommend for normal skin. All these products
can be found in your local pharmacy and are super budget friendly! Now we are ready to prime the face. Primer gives the makeup a staying power, and also CAMI ESSES , MAKEUP ARTIST creates a canvas to start painting the face. I like the MAC Prep and Prime Radiant Primer (5). It’s good to use on all skin types and is budget friendly. After you’ve moisturized and primed the face, it’s time to apply foundation and continue building up the face! An important tip to keep in mind is that you should not go to sleep with makeup. Make sure to wash your face thoroughly before going to bed. After you wash your face, moisturize your face and around your eyes. I hope you enjoyed these tips! Xoxo, Cami

A good trick before getting makeup done before a simcha is to get a facial two weeks before your event. This will help rejuvenate the skin and make it look glossy and more vibrant. If you would like to prep your skin on your own, it’s important to exfoliate the skin using an exfoliator. This removes all the dead skin cells and creates a smooth canvas to apply makeup.

Throughout my many years of working with hair, I have found that sometimes the hair was not being washed properly. Having a clean fresh head of hair is very important when styling hair, especially for an event. Most of the time your hair stylist will tell you to wash your hair the night before getting your hair done. There is a difference between unclean hair, and not fresh hair. There are many different kinds of hair textures, and they each require different shampoos, and sometimes different washing methods, for example, a girl with thinner/oily hair should not be using heavy shampoos and conditioners. In fact, she shouldn’t be using conditioner at all. There are softer shampoos available, such as Garnier Fructise (1) or Herbal Essences (2). A person with thicker/ heavier hair can use stronger shampoos and conditioner, like Tresame (3) or Pantene (4). People who put product into their hair daily should make sure to wash their hair really well
so that they don’t end up with a nasty build up. This is very important, therefore I recommend shampooing twice then condition, this way you have a thorough cleanse. For those people with more greasy hair, I recommend the same method of washing minus the conditioner. S When shampooing your hair, it’s very important that your entire head get washed with the shampoo and not just coat the top layer. I recommend scratching your head and massaging with the shampoo in YOCHEVED GROSS, HAIR STY L I T it to really get a thorough cleanse. For those that have a hard time doing this method, I find that it also helps to use a brush in the shower to help circulate the shampoo properly. All of my recommended products can be purchased in your local pharmacy. I hope you find these tips helpful Xoxo Yocheved

When it comes to frizzy hair, there are many different ways to get it under control.
1- Use a good mousse, such as Tresemme Extra Hold (5) or L’Oréal Curl Boost (6). Those products can help keep frizzy hair tame.
2- Here’s a cool and brilliant trick that my cousin used to do growing up. After taking a shower in the evening, tie a bandana tightly around your head and go to sleep with it on. This will ensure your hair dries super flat and smooth. When you wake up in the morning and take off the bandana, most of the frizz will be gone.
3- Another good idea to control frizzy hair is to use a strong hair spray around your hairline, and then comb it back into a pony. This will give you a smooth, clean & polished pony tail. You can use Tresemme Extra Hold (7) or Got2be hairspray (8).
