anif Adam was meant to be celebrating 19 years in business this week, instead he’s cleaning up his gutted pharmacy. Mr Adam’s Werrington County business went up in flames last Thursday, with an electrical fault believed to be the cause. The passionate local businessman received a phone call from his security company at 4am last Thursday about an alarm going off at the store. Tired and knowing it could be a false alarm, he almost told them not to worry about it. But by the time security got to the store, Fire and Rescue NSW crews were already on the scene extinguishing the devastating blaze. As has been his way for the past two decades, Mr Adam is desperately trying to help his loyal customers in the wake of the fire. “We want to make it as easy as possible for our customers so they are not affected by this unfortunate incident,” Mr Adam said. “We are taking their orders from out the front of our shop and dispensing them at my other business [in St Marys] – for elderly patients we are even delivering their medication to them.” Mr Adam said even though everything inside has turned to ash, they have been able to recover their files thanks to cloud software they used to back-up their system. It’s hoped that the pharmacy will re-open in the near future and remain in Werrington County. “The support from the community has been amazing and we hope to be set-up in our new store within the next few weeks,” he said.
