COVER STORY

Love is in the air at The Joan on Feb 14 hen talking to renowned opera singer and composer David Hobson about his ‘My Baby Just Cares For Me’ tour with Rachael Beck, who is most well known for her role on the popular sitcom ‘Hey Dad’ and theatre productions including ‘Cabaret’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’, it’s clear that he has nothing but praise for his on stage partner.

W KATE REID

“What you’ll see is a great connection between two artists who really enjoy working with each other,” David said. “I’ve been really lucky to have a great connection with Rachael and vice versa. “I wasn’t surprised how great she was but I was surprised how great our chemistry was.” After working together on several projects over the years, including Channel Seven’s celebrity singing competition ‘It Takes Two’, it was David and Rachael’s work on the hit musical ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’, which premiered in 2012, that inspired them to take their combined singing skills into the studio. “We had such a great time performing that show that we wanted to keep continuing it because the relationship on stage was so strong,” David said. “Rach, being with me, I think she’s gone into vocal territory that perhaps she wouldn’t have gone before and she has one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard, she’s just a sensational singer. So I’ve really enjoyed that aspect as well, listening to her and watching her grow.” The duo recorded the album ‘My Baby Just Cares For Me’ which was released in early 2014 and featured covers of classic tracks from stage and screen including ‘Get Happy’, ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’, ‘Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered’, ‘I Got Rythmn’ and ‘Almost Like Being in Love’. “[It’s] a collection of fantastic standards that we love and we wanted to do them in a particular way which was relatively intimate and able to translate to the stage,” David said. And translate to the stage they did with the pair taking the popular tracks live to audiences shortly after the album’s release. On Saturday, February 14 David and Rachael will once again be taking their ‘My Baby Just Cares For Me’ show on the road with a special Valentine’s Day

performance at The Joan, bringing to life this collection of opera, musical theatre and pop music. David said it’s fitting that the Penrith show will be on the most romantic day of the year. “I think it’s got a romantic edge to it, lots of lovely romantic songs,” David said. “I think it would be a perfect couples show for people to come along and see, I would absolutely recommend it. “Would I recommend it as a footballers night out, maybe not. Or maybe the netball and football club when they come together,” David laughed. According to David, he and Rachael are hoping to give audiences a real feel for who they are as people, rather than just seeing them as characters on a stage. “Hopefully the audience get out of it a really uplifting experience because they’re really seeing us unplugged and very natural,” he said. “What they can expect is a really intimate portrait of us as a duo and us as solo artists as well.” The pair are having so much fun working together that there’s already talk of more recordings and stage shows in their future. David Hobson has become one of Australia’s most loved performers with his on stage work including roles in productions of ‘The Mikado’, ‘The Pirates of Penzance’ and ‘H.M.S Pinafore’, along with television performances on ‘Carols in The Domain’, ‘Carols By Candlelight’, ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and ‘Spicks and Specks’. David is also an award-winning composer who has worked on numerous projects including the Australian film ‘One Perfect Day’ and featured on the soundtrack to ‘Better than Sex’ and ‘Elizabeth’. After reflecting back over all of his achievements, from singing for the Queen in the Great Hall, Canberra to being asked to perform the national anthem at the AFL Grand Final, David admits that for him the best is yet to come. “My highlight is just round the corner,” he said. The Penrith show on Valentine’s Day will be a great opportunity for locals to see two of Australia’s greatest voices on the one stage, with tickets expected to sell out very quickly. David Hobson and Rachael Beck will be performing their show ‘My Baby Just Cares For Me’ at The Joan on Saturday, February 14. Tickets are $50-$55. For more information or to make a booking visit www.thejoan.com.au or call 4723 7600.

Two of Australia’s most popular performers come together to perform a unique blend of classical, musical theatre and popular songs. Perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Even more Family Feud on your TV It’s set to be a huge night for TV this Sunday, not because ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ is premiering but because ‘Family Feud’ will be on. That’s right, the hit game show will now air at 6pm Sunday to Friday on Channel Ten, ELEVEN and One HD. Should be a successful move and I can’t wait to watch it.

More popular shows have been renewed in the US over the past week including Batman-inspired drama ‘Gotham’, comedy ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ and hip hop musical drama ‘Empire’. With so many renewals in recent weeks you’d have to expect networks are planning plenty of axings to come as well. Stand by.

If you didn’t manage to catch Louis Theroux’s series ‘LA Stories’ on Foxtel late last year, you’re in luck because it’ll begin on the ABC from Thursday, February 5 at 9.30pm. The three-part series looks at LA’s sex offenders, their neglected stray dogs and hospital system.

A bit of a reality show with a difference with the ABC airing ‘Jillaroo School’ this Sunday night at 6.30pm. The six-part series follows a group of ordinary Australian women as they undertake a four week training course in the skills required to be a Jillaroo.

‘The Amazing Race’ in the US is going with a brand new format for next season which has been dubbed as the “most extreme blind date ever”. This season will entirely revolve around dating duos but five of the 11 teams have never met before. This sounds like an absolutely brilliant idea to mix things up for season 26.

Music’s biggest night, The Grammy Awards, will be on FOX8 live from LA on Monday, February 9 at 12pm. Once again hosted by LL Cool J, the event is sure not to disappoint music lovers with performances by some of the biggest acts from around the globe including Madonna, AC/DC, Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran.

KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE Starring: Colin Firth, Michael Caine and Samuel L Jackson Now screening at Hoyts Penrith WISH I WAS HERE RATED M

Starring: Zach Braff, Kate Hudson and Mandy Patinkin ‘Scrubs’ star and ‘Garden State’ creator Zach Braff is back with the film ‘Wish I Was Here’. The story is based around Aidan Bloom (Zach Braff), husband to Sarah (Kate Hudson) and a father of two, daughter Grace (Joey King) and son Tucker (Pierce Gagnon). His dream is to become an actor but his plans are disrupted when he learns that his father Gabe (Mandy Patinkin) has been diagnosed with a serious illness. While dealing with the news Aidan decides to homeschool his children which leads to a strange journey that teaches him lessons about family and fulfilment. As well as playing the lead role, Zach Braff is also back in the director and writer’s chairs for ‘Wish I Was Here’. The film also stars ‘The Big Bang Theory’s’ Jim Parsons and ‘Twilight’ star Ashley Greene. In its limited release worldwide, the film made a disastrous US$5.5 million. It also received mainly mixed reviews.

‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ is based on the comic book The Secret Service by Mark Millar. The film revolves around a secret spy organisation that takes on Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin, a street kid from a South London housing estate, as their newest recruit. Agent Harry Hart decides the young man has potential and so puts him through the agency’s difficult training program to help stop a twisted tech genius who is threatening to take over the world. The film features a host of stars including Colin Firth and Michael Caine as members of the secret Kingsmen organisation, Samuel L. Jackson as the villain and newcomer Taron Egerton as the wild card recruit. The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn who worked on the hit flicks ‘Kick-Ass’ and ‘X-Men: First Class’. ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ has received plenty of positive feedback on movie review sites Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb. This film is sure to be a winner with those who are a fan of the comic book or just love a good spy action movie.

Eight years after their breakup punk rockers Sleater-Kinney are back with a new release, ‘No Cities To Love’. Since the split, singer and guitarist Carrie Brownstein has been working on the absurd comedy sketch show ‘Portlandia’, and it was her co-star, Fred Armisen, who was one of the biggest supporters of the band’s reformation. Sleater-Kinner were very much champions of the 90’s feminist punk movement and their new release is just as heavy, wild and political as the rest of their back catalogue. To promote title track ‘No Cities to Love’ the band released a video that featured a list of stars including Sarah Silverman and Andy Samberg engaging in a good ol’ fashion sing along. The band once again joined forces with producer John Goodmanson who worked on their earlier work. It seems the reformation has been an overwhelming success for Sleater-Kinney, with many of the top music publications showering the album in praise. Clearly the music industry and music fans have been craving the return of Sleater-Kinney’s brand of punk rock. And for those only just jumping on the bandwagon it’s sure to be one hell of a ride.

Turning back Time

Troubled bridge has a long history As debate continues about creating a crossing for the future, Dale Drinkwater looks at the remarkable history of the bridge that links Penrith to Emu Plains

T

he Victoria Bridge that stands today is the final and strongest contestant in the Nepean war between human construction and mother nature. The mighty Nepean River put up a two decade long fight against a Penrith to Emu Plains bridge, destroying the current bridge’s two successors with powerful floodwaters. From the start of the NSW gold rush in the 1820s, the government provided a ferry service to connect the area to the booming west but by 1832, there were already issues with the punt’s capacity. It struggled to deal with a rising population and transport, increasing masses of cattle and sheep across the river banks. However, it wasn’t until 20 years later in 1850 that four businessmen in the area were fed up and approached the government seeking a parliamentary sanction to form a company that would build a bridge and receive tolls for its use. Toby Ryan, Robert Fitzgerald, Edwin Rouse and John Perry were granted their

The second bridge built after the first was wiped out company, and started construction of the iron bark bridge from Punt Road to the now dilapidated Log Cabin. After three years of construction, there were several days of celebrations at its opening in January 1856, but just 18 months later, it was realised the bridge design was full of flaws. The engineer didn’t fix its piers to the riverbed, and ‘the big flood’ in 1857 came down the Nepean River and carried away the four central spans of the bridge. In 1859, its piers were pulled up one by one and the second bridge’s construction began as a basic repair job to the old bridge. The new engineer wanted to remove all of the bridge’s piers but was overruled, and less than a year after construction

started, it was hit by three more floods. The second bridge stood strong and tall against the assault of flood numbers one and two, then by mid-1860, the third flood known to Mr Ryan as the highest flood since the foundation of the colony, came and the bridge just couldn’t take it. The bridge, known as a superstructure in its day, was lifted clean off its foundations and thrown just over a kilometre into a sandbank down the river. After these failed attempts, there were no plans for another bridge and the government went back to using a punt. In 1862, John Whitton, Engineer-in-Chief of a western rail project designed a bridge to cross the Nepean River extending the rail line from Penrith to the Blue Moun-

tains, but later modified his design to also take road traffic. This final bridge took three years to construct, and was designed off British bridge technology supported by four massive sandstone piers and raised the level of the bridge two metres higher than that of its predecessors. The Nepean River met its match two weeks after this bridge, named the Victoria Bridge, was built in June 1867, when the biggest flood recorded in the district’s history washed underneath it. The bridge was not completely destroyed, with only the western approach being washed away. It took only 10 days to reopen the bridge to trains, and after two years of repairs, it was open to road traffic.

HOROSCOPES

Friday 30 January 2015 « the western weekender - westlife

14

This week you need to be extra tactful with a mischievous child, a troubled teenager or a frazzled friend. Otherwise there’ll be communication chaos, as you misread each other’s words and intentions. For some loyal Librans, a friendship that’s been floundering may come to an unexpected end.

TAURUS APRIL 21 TO MAY 21

SCORPIO OCTOBER 24 TO NOVEMBER 22

With Mercury reversing through your career zone expect mixups, missed appointments or computer chaos at work. It’s not a good time to apply for jobs – wait until after February 11. You’ve got so much on your professional plate that the last thing you need is domestic dramas, but that’s exactly what you’ll get!

Love is in the air on Valentine’s Day, with many people choosing to get engaged or married

LIBRA SEPTEMBER 24 TO OCTOBER 23

The Full Moon plus Uranus and Jupiter aspects are an impulsive (and explosive) combination. You’re in a spontaneous mood but remember – it takes a short time to burn bridges and a lot longer to mend them! So resist the temptation to be a rambunctious Ram; antagonise loved ones; or say things that unintentionally hurt others.

Geminis love to gossip but beware the tendency to spill secrets. Words are powerful weapons so use them wisely, and be extra careful when sending emails or texts as your meaning could easily be misinterpreted. Beautify your work environment and have some fun as Venus enhances on the job charm, enjoyment and love. Singles, you could find yourself drawn to a colleague, client or customer.

Star predictions for the week beginning February 2

CANCER JUNE 22 TO JULY 22

It will be tricky to get the balance right between your personal and professional lives. The pressure’s on at work, but don’t let it blind you to the pressing needs of loved ones. When it comes to a frustrating family issue, it’s time to revise, review and then reboot. Passion and intensity are in the air on the weekend.

SAGITTARIUS NOVEMBER 23 TO DECEMBER 21

Think before you speak Sagittarius! Your verbal and mental abilities are still shockingly scrambled, as Mercury continues reversing through your communication zone. Plus the fiery Full Moon and Jupiter jump-start your tendency to make blunt remarks, send rash texts or indulge in impulsive behaviour. You’ll find the more focused and patient you are, the more productive the week will be.

CAPRICORN DECEMBER 22 TO JANUARY 20

Crabs can be careless with cash and credit, and this week’s fiery Full Moon encourages comfort shopping and impulse buys. So do your best to steer clear of self-indulgent spending sprees. Also avoid getting drawn into discussions over finances, as misunderstandings are likely. If you’re planning a heavenly holiday in 2015, look for divine travel destinations with an artistic, musical, literary or spiritual vibe.

Capricorns are ambitious souls but sometimes you fall short of reaching the lofty heights you so desperately crave. The reason? You don’t want to attempt something unless you can do it 100 per cent properly, the first time. Which is impossible and can result in a permanent failure to launch. So your motto is from birthday great, Jack Lemmon “Failure won’t hurt you, but fear of failure will cripple you.”

LEO JULY 23 TO AUGUST 23

AQUARIUS JANUARY 21 TO FEBRUARY 19

The annual Leo Full Moon boosts your confidence and charisma, and helps your leadership skills shine brightly as long as you put the needs of others first. And strive to be extra diplomatic with loved ones, as Mercury reverses through your relationship zone. You’re full of fabulous ideas but the challenge is to follow through on commitments.

The fiery Full Moon amplifies your unpredictable Aquarian nature and you’re in the mood to stir things up, especially when it comes to close relationships. But are you ready for the consequences? Mercury is still reversing through your sign (until February 11) so make sure you check and double-check all forms of communication.

VIRGO AUGUST 24 TO SEPTEMBER 23

PISCES FEBRUARY 20 TO MARCH 20

With retrograde Mercury aspecting Saturn, it’s the perfect week to review your daily routine and redefine your goals for the future. If you’re not heading down the right road for you, then don’t be afraid to take a detour or even change course completely. Now’s the time to research and reassess and then take action after February 11.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner Valentine’s Day originated centuries ago and is a celebration of love and affection. Nothing quite says love like jewellery! The question is, what do you buy your loved one for Valentine’s Day? For a lot of people Valentine’s Day is just another day of the year but for many it’s the perfect day to romance your loved one and give them a little something to symbolise your love. It doesn’t have to be expensive or over the top, just a small token. On the flip side it is quite often the day that many choose to propose to or marry their partner too! Some of my top Valentine’s Day gift ideas for the lady in your life include a special something from any of our silver brands in-store like Pandora, Georgini and TiSento, or a stylish watch from Bering or Claude Bernard. My top men’s Valentine’s Day gifts also include watches. We have a huge selection of Edox, Claude Bernard, Bering and TW Steel men’s watches, so you are bound to find one that suits your man’s style. Whether it be high fashion or classic, a nice pair of cufflinks or a stainless steel ring is always a good choice too. If you are wanting to really spoil your partner this Valentine’s Day you can go straight to the top! We have a selection of stunning men’s and ladies solid gold, diamond set watches from Classique. Rare Argyle Pink diamonds are the ultimate in luxury and we have a great range featuring ‘blush pink’ diamonds set in rose and white gold at an affordable price for such a rare and sought after stone. Our custom-made, gemstone pieces are also ready and waiting in store, as is a selection of sparkling engagement rings should you want to take this Valentine’s Day to the next level. If you are still stuck for ideas, come on in and see one of our experienced and helpful team members. We will be able to point you in the right direction to make sure your partner loves their gift. Just don’t forget the dinner reservation or the flowers to go along with your gift!

With Mars and Venus both visiting your sign it’s time to be bold and beautiful, as you learn to love yourself and engage in some unusually speedy decision-making. An old Piscean hope, dream or wish may need to be reviewed, updated and transformed so it’s a more realistic reflection of the powerful and positive new you in 2015.

Retire to somewhere like Belize, Asia or France, and you’ll be loving your golden years

Golden choices for your golden years The city, state or even country in which you spend your retirement is an important decision. Whether you have a few million saved in your personal banking account, or will be relying solely on superannuation, a move overseas could be the best choice. Like the sound of sipping cocktails on the beach all year round? Would you prefer a picturesque European city? If you’re approaching your golden oldies, here are four places that could be a better option than the hum-drum retirement village your kids have picked out: Beautiful Belize If sunning yourself on a sandy white beach is your idea of bliss, Central America could have the solution. Belize is a tropical nation with inexpensive property, warm weather, quality healthcare and tax credits available for retirees who are eligible for the country’s Qualified Retired Persons program. Worried about moving to a new country and not understanding the locals? You’ll feel right at home in Belize – the only country in Latin America where English is the official language. Affordable Asia There are many affordable nations across Asia, with lifestyles to suit almost anyone. Whether you prefer the hustle and bustle of a city or the serenity of a rural town, there is likely to be a home for you. In Malaysia, for instance, the city-based residents are welcoming of strangers and many even speak good English. Kuala Lumpur has a high-quality healthcare system, with many internationally qualified doctors. Infatuating France If you believe a glass of wine is the perfect accompaniment to any meal, why not retire in the regions where your favourite drops originated? Rolling vineyards cover many areas in France, with most towns and cities set up for a relaxing and wine-filled retirement. The city of Pau could be a great choice, as it is home to many classically French icons and is known to be significantly more affordable than Paris. Referred to as the “Garden City”, Pau has one of the highest rates of greenery per person of any city in Europe. Of course, your humble home could also be just the place.

ZARA DOERING If you want it, go out and get it! How does fitness feature in your life? I grew up in a sporting family where my parents encouraged me to participate in many sports. I started my sporting career both swimming and dancing, however being a bit of a tomboy I decided that I wanted to compete with the boys so my parents allowed me to play soccer, tennis, and put me into rollerskating. It wasn’t long before I was completely addicted to sport and I wanted to do more, so my parents allowed me start athletics and BMX Racing. I competed in both of these at state levels until my parents introduced me to road, track cycling and cross country mountain biking. It was then that my sporting career really took off, I competed at both junior and elite levels achieving high results. After a couple of years racing Elite Cycling I decided that it was time for a change so I took up Muay Thai boxing and started hitting the gym, however this wasn’t enough and I needed to compete in something. It wasn’t long after this that I stumbled across a picture of Andreia Brazier, a Brazilian fitness model. Immediately I decided that was what I was going to do so I started training hard in the gym lifting weights six days a week and tightened up my diet. In September 2013, I competed in my first fitness competition for my team Body Dynamix achieving fifth in my category. I loved competing so much that I decided to train hard in the off-season so that I could

stick with it! A daily ‘must do’? Focus on the positives because if you don’t all the negatives will drag you down. Biggest health/fitness misconception? “Fat makes you fat”. This statement isn’t true. Overeating and eating the wrong types of foods make you fat. Fat is essential for hormone function and great for many other processes in the body, which are essential for optimal functioning of the body. What do you consider the biggest benefit of being fit and healthy? Being happy and able to enjoy every aspect of life. What type of activity/exercise do you enjoy the most? I love to lift weights and still like to get out on my bike when I can.

compete in the next category up. In May 2014, I competed in my first figure competition achieving third in one of my categories.

How do you stay motivated when it’s so easy to just ‘take it easy’? I am a very determined person, therefore I am internally motivated. If I want something I will work hard to get it no matter what it takes.

Top 3 tips for good health? Eat clean and drink plenty of water. Get plenty of sleep and don’t make exercise a chore. Do something you enjoy and you will

Anything else you want to say? Don’t ever let anybody tell you that you can’t. If you want it bad enough then go out and get it!

HEALTH

Something we should all be concerned about DAVID STEIN Owner & Manager of Fitec david@ fitec.com.au

Disease kills millions of people every year, and many of them are linked to lifestyle choices

I sometimes wonder where all the money that gets raised in the name of cancer and other medical research goes. Simple and inexpensive steps like banning advertising of tobacco and alcohol products and taxing foods and drinks that contain high levels of salt and caffeine has already proven successful in a range of countries. Unhealthy habits like smoking, alcohol abuse and consuming too much processed fat, salt and sugar have sparked an epidemic of diseases which make up the leading cause of death globally. Diseases linked to lifestyle choices, including diabetes and some cancers, kill nearly 40 million people each year, the World Health Organisation (WHO) says, urging action to stop the ‘slow-moving public health disaster’. This ‘lifestyle disease’ epidemic ‘causes a much greater public health threat than any other epidemics known to man,’ said Shanthi Mendis, lead author of WHO’s Chronic Diseases Prevention and Management report. Non-communicable diseases, like cardiovascular conditions, diabetes, lung disease and a range of cancers, killed over 38 million people around the globe in 2012. “Not thousands are dying, but millions are dying, every year,” said Mendis. “It’s beyond belief that it is seemingly invisible.” WHO findings show about six million people die prematurely each year due to tobacco use, 3.3 million deaths are linked to alcohol abuse, 3.2 million to lacking physical activity and 1.7 million to eating too much processed salt. Over 42 million children under the age of five are considered to be obese, and an estimated 84 per cent of adolescents do not get enough exercise, Mendis said, describing the situations as ‘extremely frightening’. WHO said, warning that inaction would have far-reaching consequences. ‘When people fall sick and die in the prime of their lives, productivity suffers, and the cost of treating diseases can be devastating’. It has been estimated that if nothing is done to improve the situation, premature NCD deaths will suck $US7.0 trillion out of the global economy.

Growing problem: Unusual toxins in pets

God’s megaphone: Are you listening?

We have previously discussed the common toxins that we see such as rat bait and snail bait, this week we will discuss unusual toxins including paint balls and glowsticks! These items are quite common after parties and festivals but it is very important that you keep them out of reach of your pets. Glowsticks are quite common at parties, carnivals and around Halloween. Glowsticks contain an oily liquid called dibutyl phthalate (DPB). DPB is a colourless liquid that has a very bitter taste; this bitter taste is the first thing your pet will be affected by. You may notice that after biting into a glowstick, your pet may profusely drool, gag or retch. Luckily, DPB is not considered to be fatal if ingested. Signs of ingestion are mainly related to the extremely bitter taste. Since dogs and cats can not spit it out if they happen to bite a glowstick, they will begin to drool uncontrollably and become very agitated. If your pet is very agitated by the taste, you can try offering them some of their favourite tasty foods such as canned food, tuna or chicken stock. Some of the larger glow sticks also contain a small glass vial that when snapped, makes the glowstick light up. Pets will usually stop chewing a glowstick when they taste the bittering agent, but it is important to remember that your pet may have ingested a small piece of glass and it is advisable to contact your vet. Although quite an uncommon toxicity, the ingestion of paintballs can be life threatening. The components inside a paintball are ‘osmotically active’. This means that they can draw in large volumes of water inside the intestinal tract and cause severe imbalances in the blood’s salt levels. If these electrolyte imbalances are left untreated, they can cause vomiting, diarrhoea, tremors, seizuring and even lead to coma and death. If you enjoy a paintball session this summer, make sure you keep any spare paintballs out of the reach of your pets! If you have any questions about your pets health, please call us on 4731 3055.

Well known author C.S. Lewis, creator of the Narnia series, did more than write children’s books, he also wrestled with the big issues of pain and suffering. See what he said, “Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks to us in our conscience, and shouts to us in our pain. Pain is God’s megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” What did he mean? Lewis was explaining that the pain we often experience is God “shouting” to us that things are not right; the consequence of a world gone wrong. Suffering and hardship were never God’s plan but are the consequence of a world out of step with Him, the result of the fact that all people have turned their back on God and not living the way He intended. Pain is a megaphone calling us back to God; calling us to Jesus; that we would learn from and follow Him, even draw strength from Him in times of hardship. The Apostle Paul, in the Bible, put it like this; “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” Lewis himself experienced pain as he watched his cherished wife die of cancer. Although this caused him grief, he never lost his trust in God and the hope of eternal glory enabled him to persevere. With our physical health we know the importance of not ignoring pain; so too with our spiritual health; pain is calling you back to God. Are you hearing the call?
