Ray White Windsor Principal, Peter Chidgey, is marketing the property and said it’s truly one of a kind, built by Appalachian.

includes features you couldn’t find anywhere else,” he said.

“I’ve honestly never seen anything like it before and there is nothing that comes even close to it on the market today.”

Permanent residents of the area, the current owners purchased the property five years ago for $1.45 million.

They started with a renovation of the original residence that respected and further highlighted the property’s unique style.

“The owners added an additional wing to the property that features three bedrooms, including the new master suite, a downstairs living area that incorporates an enormous fireplace, wine cellar, a custom-built electronic sliding window they were told ‘couldn’t be done’, and a spiral staircase that takes you down to a jacuzzi area,” Mr Chidgey said.

The gardens include a lily pond and the famed Sentry Rock, along with sprawling lawns, a manmade cascading waterfall, a World War II munitions barge on the river used for mooring boats and an outdoor entertaining area right on the river.

“The property is at one with its natural surroundings, nestled on 10 acres of land with extensive landscaping,” Mr Chidgey added.

“It has deep water frontage and 360-degree views.”

Owning another, even bigger property down the river, Mr Chidgey said the owners have decided to sell this property and move back into that home, which they have proudly owned and loved since 1969.

The property at 5501 Wisemans Ferry Road, Spencer, is launching to market as a forthcoming auction.

ortgage accounts, bank accounts, credit cards – all of them usually have a fee attached and you may not be happy when you work out how much all of this is costing you each year.

Let’s say you have a home loan with a $395 annual fee, two or three credit cards – most cards have a $60-$90 annual fee, that’s a couple of hundred dollars there – and a bank account hidden away with a $5 or $10 monthly fee; possibly some ATM access fees thrown in as well.

Did you know that a lot of the home loan packages will allow for an annual fee on a credit card and the monthly bank account fee to be waived? If you need more than one bank account – and I understand the way lots of people bank, then you can consider one of the lenders who offer multiple

accounts under this one fee structure. Right there you are saving potentially hundreds of dollars a year.

A fee or interest – no matter what it is called it’s a cost all the same and has to be allowed for in your calculating the competitiveness of your current finances. Let’s say conservatively that you’re paying $180 for the credit cards and $120 on two bank accounts – $400 in total – that’s an equivalent of around 0.13 per cent interest rate on an average $300,000 home loan.

Even interest free facilities are not ‘no cost’ if they come with a monthly fee. Keep that in mind.

To get rid of unnecessary fees consider if you do need more than one account or credit card, and can they be brought under your mortgage package fee? (And we’re assuming here that you’ve already looked at your home loan

to make sure it’s competitive). Pay off and close any unnecessary accounts – this will help you with your borrowing power if you want to look at upgrading.
