arrickville’s SES volunteers will be given a new home after local councillors moved to make provisions in the 2012-13 budget for the unit’s relocation. At Tuesday night’s meeting, Councillors agreed on the Sydenham

Green site for the new headquarters, pending the results of geotechnical and contamination studies. The decision was welcomed by the 60-strong band of SES volunteers in the public gallery. Mike Carney, Volunteer Controller of the Marrickville SES, implored the Council to make a decision on the issue, eight years after it fi rst came before Council.
