be given the rights again. The petition outlines that the IOC should review future rights to the games on multiple channels, without ad interruptions and calling on broadcasters such as the ABC to be given equal consideration. The petition can be found at www.change.org.

The return of ‘Big Brother’ is just days away and all 14 contestants are now in lockdown awaiting their entry into the Dreamworld complex. Channel Nine has also revealed that a ‘Secrets’ concept is also part of the mix this year, meaning every housemate is keeping a secret from other contestants. ‘Big Brother’ premieres with a 90-minute episode, Monday, August 13 at 7pm. GO! will also be screening afternoon replays of ‘BB’ at 4.30pm from August 14. No word yet on the ‘Up-Late’ edition. I wasn’t the only one last week that had been having problems with Nine’s Olympic coverage because now there’s been an online petition set-up directed at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) demanding the network never

Hopefully for the last time ever, ‘The X Factor’ will premiere on Monday, August 20 on Channel Seven. You may think I’m being harsh on the program but to be truthful I have enjoyed it the last few years but I do believe Australia is sick of talent shows for the time being. The two versions of ‘The Voice’ (Australia and US) have already aired this year and so has an underperforming ‘Australia’s Got Talent’. I honestly think it’s time one or two of these shows have a rest in 2013 because it’s just becoming too much for Aussie viewers! In further premiere news, plenty of new shows are making their way to Channel Nine. ‘Underbelly: Badness’ begins Monday, August 13 at 8.30pm. Charlie Sheen returns with his latest show, ‘Anger Management’ [pictured] starting on Tuesday, August 14 at 8.30pm. ‘The Farmer Wants a Wife’ looks for love again on Wednesday, August 15 at 8pm. Finally, ‘HOWZAT! Kerry Packer’s War’, a must watch for all cricket fans, premieres Sunday, August 19 at 8.30pm. Some exciting news came through last week that classic sitcom ‘The Brady Bunch’ is getting a modern day reboot. Hollywood superstar, Vince Vaughn, is reportedly developing the sitcom reboot with CBS and will serve as executive producer. The show is set to follow a divorced Bobby Brady, with children of his own, who marries a woman, who also has kids from a previous relationship. However, Bobby and his new bride share a new child together and their ex-spouses are still in the equation. I reckon this show could work but only if there’s cameo appearances from the original cast.
