A Message from Paul Grove Dear Friends of WEDU PBS,
Reflecting on Hurricane Ian’s devastating impact, I know I am not alone in feeling grateful it spared many of us in the WEDU PBS broadcast area from the severe damage experienced by other Floridians.
While we feel fortunate, we must do our part to help those in southwest Florida. As
we consider the long road to recovery for our neighbors, WEDU has joined other public media stations in Florida to inform viewers about the recovery efforts through the Florida Disaster Fund. In addition, at WEDU, we have a team of staff members focused on efforts to provide relief to those still in need.
Our area’s close brush with the hurricane gives us all a chance to better prepare for the future. I encourage you to download the Florida Storms App with interactive radar and delivery of real-time audio and text alerts about weather hazards.
The month of November concludes with our time as Americans to celebrate Thanksgiving. It is also when we celebrate the National Day of Giving. This initiative aims to create a wave of generosity that lasts beyond the day. Please consider showing your support and gratitude by making a special gift to WEDU on Giving Tuesday, November 29, at wedu.org/givetues.
Your support will help our team produce another year of quality programs and essential storytelling. Every dollar you give counts and helps provide thoughtful content and trusted information through programming, outreach activities, and educational resources.
I look forward to embracing the opportunity to give thanks and share gratitude for my friends, family, health, and YOU. I truly appreciate your belief in the mission of WEDU PBS.
As always, I invite your comments and feedback. Please share with me what you are most thankful for this year.
Happy Thanksgiving!
