Tiffany Brunson resigning as D91 principal
District creates new community engagement role By MARIA MAXHAM Editor
Forest Park is losing a well-loved and highly respected principal as Dr. Tiffany Brunson is leaving Forest Park School District 91 where she has served as the principal of Field Stevenson and Forest Park Middle School. The board will consider her resignation at the July 8 meeting. Brunson has been with the district since 2012. Superintendent Elizabeth Alvarez said D91 is “working fast” and already looking for someone to take Brunson’s place. “Please know we are currently conducting interviews to find a highly qualified principal,” AlTIFFANY BRUNSON varez told the Review in a July 7 email. “We hope to be finished by the end of July.” She added that the district is “losing a significant leader and truly it is our loss. D91 has also made some changes in communications and marketing for the district, eliminating the position of Public Relations and Communications Manager, previously held by Scott Dunnell, who has left D91, and instead creating a Family and Community Engagement Manager position. Nurys Uceta Ramos has been hired for that position and will begin July 19. “She will support the district in relationship building for our families and community,” Alvarez said. Dunnell was hired in 2018 to replace Rebecca Latham who’d served in a similar capacity for about three years prior to that.

The Park District of Forest Park is famous for its 16-inch softball tournaments and popular for its aquatic center. But this summer, professional theater will be added to the park’s offerings in a project between the park district and the Forest Park Theater Company, a newly formed ensemble of trained actors, led by resident and professional director Rick Corley. The play, which will be about two hours in duration, including an intermission, will begin around 5 p.m. Corley said it will be held during daylight, because that’s the way plays were performed during Shakespeare’s time. Without the need for stage lighting, Corley said, the emphasis will be on the actors and storytelling. Corley and his wife Tanera Marshall moved to Forest Park See SHAKESPEARE on page 12
