“Alex, I’ll take CASKET RACE for $250!”

Feeling the “spirit” of Halloween the Forest Park Chamber Annual Casket Race draws the ghoulishly creative and frightfully competitive to a popular event. Costumed racers representing local business, organizations and neighbors prepared their costumes and caskets for the ninth annual race in 2021. Never Ketchup, Proviso Math and Science Academy science teachers, Ghostbusters, Addams Family, and Forest Park Police department were just some of the devilishly delightful competitors.

What motivated you to work in the mental health fi eld? The opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people living with a mental illness and be a fi erce advocate for patients in need of quality, compassionate mental healthcare.

What are your job responsibilities? To lead our team of talented healthcare heroes in the management of all clinical and organizational operations.

What services does Riveredge provide? At Riveredge we provide mental health services across a full continuum of care. We offer inpatient and outpatient behavioral healthcare to children, adolescents, young adults and adults.

What makes Riveredge unique in its fi eld? At the heart of what we do is our team of caring and truly dedicated staff who are committed to the patients we serve. At Riveredge we provide clinically distinct care including robust and creative programming. Additionally, we offer the only specialized inpatient unit in Illinois for adults with an intellectual or developmental disability.

What makes the community of Forest Park unique? The Forest Park community has a heart and soul which is evident the moment you walk down Madison Street! The way organizations from various industries work together for the continued development of the community is inspiring.

What are some of your favorite things to do/places to visit in Forest Park? I have always enjoyed the community events in Forest Park, especially the Casket Race and St. Patrick’s Day Parade. I’m excited to participate in Juneteenth festivities this year as well. Anything else we should know about Riveredge? We feel an incredible sense of pride in our commitment to serve the Forest Park community. As the community continues to grow and thrive, we remain dedicated to delivering clinically excellent behavioral healthcare.
