Think Pink It’s no secret that pink has always been the unquestionable runner-up to white when it comes to winning wedding popularity contests, but this year, nobody is putting baby (pink) in the corner! At the risk of stating the obvious, pink is having a MAJOR worldwide moment and we couldn’t be any happier to join the wave. Designers (and consumers) of all genres have embraced their inner femininity to the point that a whole generation has become ubiquitously linked with pink. Millennial Pink sound familiar? Or maybe you prefer Tumblr Pink, or Scandi Pink? Just a few weeks ago, the colour pink dominated at Milan Design Week 2017, a globally-recognized event where the latest and greatest in design collaborations between the worlds of art, furniture, and fashion converge. The standout star (and most instagrammed!) was a giant pink tropical bed installation by artist Marc Ange (I die!). There were so many other pink-hued notables presented by big name influencers that it’s safe to say pink is now the most sought-after colour in high-end furniture design.
But that’s not all. From the series of powder pink silk frocks Alessandro Michele showed at label-of-themoment Gucci, to the vibrant and sculptural magenta creations by boundary-pushing labels Delpozo and Vetements, rosy shades also continue to flood the international runways. So, yes, we’re seeing things through some very rose-coloured glasses right now and judging by the nine incredibly gorgeous Glitterati Style File photoshoots produced by our esteemed WedLuxe Glitterati members, they are too. From retro-inspired “Beverly Hills Hotel Style” on page 96, to the dusty pink tones of “Desert Rose” on page 106, we know you’ll find heaps of fresh wedding inspiration. I especially love how pink is showing up in beauty trends too. On page 84, my friend and makeup artist Victoria Radford (former personal makeup artist for Fergie, by the way) showcases her mad skills and shares the hottest pink-hued beauty trends in “Pink Kiss,” photographed by long-time WedLuxe contributor Mike Caringi from 5ive15ifteen Photo Company. Talk about a dream team! I know, I know, you’re probably attached at the hip to your rose gold iPhone, but I’m hoping you’ll enjoy a quiet moment to savour this issue. I suggest you pour yourself the “It” drink of the summer—a frosé (of course)—and start dreaming… the best is yet to come.

N
othing could keep Coco Pang and Willie Wei apart—not even an entire country. The two met in 2012 while studying abroad at the University of Southern California (USC). For Coco, “the connection was instant,” while Willie knew that from the moment he saw her, he “simply couldn’t live without her.” Their courtship featured all that Los Angeles had to offer, including dreamy sunsets and beach strolls. Unfortunately the time came for Willie to return to Vancouver, at which point the two continued dating long distance. Despite the 2,000 kilometers between them, Coco and Willie’s love only grew stronger. Roughly three and a half years later, Willie proposed to Coco on a quick getaway to Seattle just two days after Coco had graduated from USC. After strolling through the scenic Kerry Park, the two sat down on a bench surrounded by beautiful blooming spring flowers. Before she knew it, Willie was down on one knee asking her to marry him. Coco was overwhelmed and excitedly replied, “yes!” This intimate moment was shared by just the two of them, making it all the more special. Coco says the couple “will cherish that day for the rest of our lives.” The wedding took place on October 29, 2016 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Nargess Tabrizy of fleur de lis events was hired as the event planner, working with the bride and groom during the four months leading up to the October ceremony.
Hair styling and makeup application services were provided by denise elliott beauty co.
Coco’s custom-made Vera Wang wedding dress was purchased from blush bridal in Vancouver, and featured a removable soft lace bolero jacket. The gown featured a crystal bodice, which was adorned with Swarovski crystals and peony lace. This lace floral detail was also used in creating Coco’s Vera Wang cathedral length veil. Her sparkly headpiece was also purchased from Blush Bridal.
COCO WILLIE Coco wore white Dior heels for the ceremony and later changed into a pair of black lace Christian Louboutin heels for the reception.
sunflower florist provided all of the floral arrangements for the wedding, including a floral wreath which decorated a 1960 Bentley S3 from time limousine service.
Invitations were designed by zing paperie & design and featured the monogrammed initials of the couple, a motif that extended to other aspects of the wedding, including the wedding cake and dance floor.

psav provided the audio-visual and rigging support which included installing the chandeliers, lighting fixtures, and gate that were part of the ceremony and reception, while innovation lighting illuminated the ballroom with laser cut, blush pink lighting.
“The gates were covered in orchids and it was truly the most romantic spot for a wedding ceremony. Surrounded by candlelight and sparkling chandeliers, the stage was pure magic.” –coco SET THE STAGE
The wedding took place at the four seasons hotel vancouver. The couple exchanged vows at the end of a dramatic T-shaped stage inspired by a fashion runway, and said “I do” in front of an ornate silver gate provided by art of the party design inc., with floral design by sunflower florist. In addition to the main stage, the romantic, candlelit aisle was lined with 30 feet of baby’s breath and clear crystal vases containing white candles. Five showstopping crystal chandeliers provided by éclat decor inc. emanated a warm glow throughout the entire room. In an effort to incorporate the bride’s love of European decor, the chandeliers were inspired by the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles. A classical trio from musical occasions played throughout the ceremony.

éclat decor inc. worked tirelessly to transform the Park Ballroom into a modern yet classical setting with traditional Chinese details. Gold Louis chairs, dining tables, linens, candleholders, and gold charger plates were all from Éclat Decor Inc. The couple and their families were seated at special tables with dramatic baccarat-style candelabras and hanging orchids. Centrepiece arrangements were created by sunflower florist. The glass stemware was provided by the four seasons hotel vancouver. Guests were treated to a customized sevencourse Chinese meal. Created in collaboration with the head chef at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver, the menu showcased some of Coco and Willie’s favourite dishes and was intended to please the multitude of guests who had flown to Canada from Asia for the wedding. Nearly every detail of the wedding held special significance for the bride and groom, including their five-tier wedding cake by ganache patisserie. Butterflies and pearls were created in sugar and incorporated as both hold special meaning for the couple. In addition, the same peony lace pattern found on the bride’s gown and veil were design elements of the cake, along with their monogram. Guests were gifted with a clear box containing one french vanilla and one rosewater macaron, prepared by soirette. Cinematography services were provided by premier love. Music was provided by girl on wax. Though Coco and Willie have not yet embarked on their honeymoon, they have plans to visit Europe in the near future. Specifically, the couple hopes to travel to Monaco as that is one of Coco’s favourite destinations. The two currently reside in Vancouver where Coco is a homemaker and Willie is an entrepreneur.
The dance floor, produced and installed by Éclat Decor Inc., showcased a design by zing paperie & design featuring the couple’s monogram in gold lettering. Coco’s favourite moment of the day was Willie’s speech. “His sweet words brought tears to everyone’s eyes,” she remarked. However, this intimate moment took a hysterical turn when the groom, along with his groomsmen, “performed a dance number that had everyone laughing and out of their seats.”

She accessorized with an embroidered cathedral length veil designed by Ines Di Santo, an elegant jewelled headpiece from blush bridal, and a necklace, bracelet, watch, and pair of earrings from goharbin jewellery in Tehran. iloofar Teymour Zadeh and Babak Assadsangabi were first introduced at a mutual friend’s party. While the couple’s meet-cute may not have been out of the ordinary, Babak’s proposal was nothing short of spectacular. A few years later, Babak took Niloofar to the top of Vancouver’s Grouse Mountain. While dining at their mountaintop restaurant, the observatory, Babak got down on one knee and asked Niloofar to be his wife forever. She said “yes” against the stunning backdrop of downtown Vancouver. The wedding took place on August 12, 2016 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Jenny De Jong of countdown events planning & design provided full event planning services, and according to the bride, she went above and beyond, “CountDown Events made all of our dreams come true for the big day! They managed every detail perfectly and our stress melted away.”
Hair styling was provided by Cameron Martens, while makeup application services were provided by makeup by haleh. tala florist provided all floral for the wedding, including Niloofar’s clean and elegant bouquet of blush and white protea.

The couple were married in the Waterfront Foyer at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel in a special ceremony officiated by a close family friend of the bride. A soft canopy of white draping from Éclat Decor Inc., tied back with cascading greenery and white protea, hung above the altar, in addition to the two sculpted arrangements from Tala Florist that stood in classic white urns and flanked the sofreh. The aisle featured a white satin runner and floating candles and was surrounded by gold and white Louis chairs, all from Éclat Decor Inc. “The couple wanted loose, garden-like flowers so we used lots of neutral tones and cascading greenery,” shares event planner Jenny De Jong.
The wedding reception also took place at the fairmont waterfront hotel, in the Waterfront Ballroom which had been transformed into an ethereal garden by tala florist and Éclat Decor Inc.

The lavish sofreh, designed and arranged by details by haleh, was adorned with crystal candelabras from Éclat Decor Inc., gold vases and candleholders, a detailed silver mirror, and assorted nuts and fruit. Two elements of this traditional wedding spread stood out among the rest. The first was a piece of handmade fabric from Iran that was over forty years old and was gifted to the bride by her mother, and the second was a fuchsia lotus that was floating in a clear, round vase, alongside three lit tealights, in the centre of the sofreh. “The lotus flower arrangement stunned us,” recalls the bride, “My name means lotus in Persian so this was an incredible surprise!”
PERSIAN ELEGANCE MEETS FRENCH LUXURY
The couple enjoyed their reception from the comfort of a white loveseat provided by éclat decor inc. tala florist designed the focal point above, a ‘swing’ floral installation suspended from the ceiling. A customized white vinyl dance floor, designed by flourish by colleen winton and installed by Éclat Decor Inc., was situated directly between the head table and the sweetheart lounge, and featured gold stripes and the couple’s gold monogram. The finishing touches to the reception came in the form of romantic lighting from innovation lighting that emanated a soft, lilac tone throughout the entire room, and luxurious white draping from Éclat Decor Inc. that lined the wall behind the sweetheart lounge. DJ Ali Fard provided his DJ services throughout the reception. Cinematography was provided by brellow. Following their wedding, the newlyweds embarked on an unforgettable honeymoon to Venice. The happily married couple currently resides in Vancouver, where Niloofar is an interactive media designer and Babak is a consultant engineer. A white three-tier wedding cake featuring the couple’s gold monogram on the top tier, was designed by ganache patisserie.
The fairmont waterfront hotel prepared canapés for the cocktail hour, and dinner and dessert buffets for the reception.
