Ann and Grant had their first date at a tiki bar. Since then they’ve made visiting tiki bars while traveling a must on all of their itineraries. It was a blast to create a tiki-themed cocktail hour experience for guests, including: a fully-stocked tiki bar, fun custom illustrated signage and a macrame escort card display.

It was the perfect touch of kitsch and personality without drenching the whole wedding (from ceremony to send-off) in all things tiki. I loved being able to include something that was personal to the couple, while keeping with the timeless, elegant aesthetic we strive to provide for our couples.

Take

a breath. It’s so tempting to dive in head first the second you get engaged, and go full steam ahead into wedding planning mode. This may be hard to believe as a professional planner, but my husband and I chose to wait a month after getting engaged to even talk about the wedding! It was such a sweet time of enjoying this short, yet unique period in our relationship that we’ll never get back.

I’d encourage any bride-to-be to create space and wedding-free times during the planning process to ensure that they’re tending to their relationship as often as they’re tending to their to-do list.

y wedding aesthetic is glamorous and classic. I love using metallic tones in my design style, but in a very sleek and modern way to tie in with any color scheme. I also take the venue selection made by the couple to match the design and style we want to work with, just to be sure that it is cohesive and coordinates with the ambiance of the event setting. Lastly, based on the season, we look into florals that are in season to select a color palette.

My favorite detail about this wedding was that it was in a brand new hotel and the first South Asian wedding hosted there. I liked the simplicity of the design, yet it was very glam.

My advice as the first step would be to wait a month

or so before you jump into the wedding planning process. Let it all sink in so it doesn’t just pass you by, because once you begin, it’s all that you can think about until it’s over! Second step; get your family together and discuss the guest list and set a wedding budget. Start off with making a first draft to the guest list and see if anyone needs to get cut from that list if you have not been in touch for more than two years.

These two factors are the foundation and help determine the type of wedding you choose to have.

gauze napkins and runner. The mixed vases were different and unexpected, but the real showstopper was the cloud installation done by The Tallest Tulip. It gave the whole shoot the “wow” factor.

What’s not to love about Caitlin and Geoff’s wedding!

The colors are to die for and texture combination is beyond perfect. Our absolute favorite thing though, were the bridesmaids dresses. Each dress was unique in style and color, which allowed each bridesmaid to feel her absolute best! While the color palette was super diverse, the floral combination really tied everything together.

The inspiration for t his design came from a mutual admiration of a

landscape at sunrise t hat Edges Wild and I experienced on our individual travels. The scene reminded me of a paint-by -number painting wit h shades intermixing and flowing into t he ot her. The color palette of dusty rose, sof t salmon, olive green, mustard yellow, sea-foam blue and purple mountain evoked an early 70s parlor vibe wit h t he kind of textures and patterns found in a Sherloc k Holmes episode or a Wes Anderson f ilm.

Carr Mansion was t he ideal location for t his shoot wit h all t he inherent c haracter, woodwork and exquisitely decorated spaces.

I was ecstatic to create t his agrarian, tranquil and modern design

inspired by t he ocean. I sent ever yone a ver y minimal design board asking t hem to pull in details embracing t he motion of ocean waves, tranquil blues, natural colors and elements of t hings suc h as sand, fronds and sea glass. My goal when designing is to curate somet hing t hat will impress people when t hey walk in, but would never make anyone feel like it was too nice for t hem to sit t here. I aim for our designs to feel inclusive and welcoming - overall I t hink t he design team nailed it, and brought t his dreamy ocean inspired design to life flawlessly.
