Sometimes true love needs a little help to find its way. For Emma and Ben, their story begins with a meet-cute at a local bar and a sliding door moment that ultimately brought them together. After meeting at a bar and venturing off in search of a place to chat, Emma and Ben were separated when Emma ran into a friend and got distracted talking. Deciding Emma wasn’t coming back, Ben disappeared into the night and like a true man of mystery – left no trace; no phone number and no social media for Emma to find him again. Regretting leaving what was to be the start of her biggest adventure yet, Emma made it her mission to go back to the same bar they meet at until she finally saw Ben again. After travelling the world together, building a home and welcoming their son into the world, Emma and Ben were ready for the next chapter in their love story; a wedding day they could share with their closest family and friends – a true celebration of their love for each other.

Preparation made perfect for Emma and Ben’s big day. Choosing vendors they trusted and felt confident in made the whole process streamlined. After visiting Bellbrae Harvest and falling in love with the space, the date was set and Emma set her sights on creating her dream wedding dress. Thanks to Jessie at Soho Bride, Emma’s vision came together easily and from the first appointment, Emma knew her custom gown was in the right hands. Creating an intimate and personal ceremony, Emma and Ben chose their dear friend Zoe Starr to officiate their wedding – leaning on her friendship with both the bride and groom in her double role as celebrant and bridesmaid. Keeping their special day in the hands of loved ones, their photographer Nic (the best man’s brother) knew the bridal party well and was able to bring a fun and relaxed vibe that shines through every photo. From the stunning florals from Courtney Ward to the incredible food and drink, the mood was set for a night of celebrating before the bridal party moved the fun to their accommodation at The Pines in Barwon Heads. For Emma and Ben, watching their loved ones celebrate their family of three will be the memories they will cherish forever. Fate might have been there to bring them together, but it’s the love they share for each other that will keep their love story ever-evolving.

NAVIGATING LOVE AND LOSS WRITTEN BY COURTNEY HOGAN Grief, not normally a word that springs to mind when we think of weddings. Unfortunately, this is something a lot of couples have to deal with when heading towards one of the happiest days of their lives. Some are approaching their wedding day with newly found grief, while others have had more time to sit with it and are in a different headspace. In both circumstances, grief can be very present and very real, and it’s important to acknowledge this. For some people, wanting to include and have our loved one/s present in our day is really important. Some will choose to do this in obvious ways and others in ways maybe only a select few will see or understand. There is no right or wrong way to bring your loved one into your day; you should do what best suits you, what makes you most comfortable, and what honours that person best. A little backstory on me: I’m Courtney, one half of The Hogans - wedding and family photographers based in Geelong. I’ve been shooting weddings for seven years and have seen people honour their loved ones in many ways in this time. 2023 also marks ten years since my Mum passed away, ten years of memories and milestones she has missed. So, when my partner and I got engaged, I put a lot of thought into how we could honour my Mum on a day I know she would have gotten so much joy out of. Shit, I’ve done a lot of therapy to be comfortable crying in front of others about my Mum and knowing that it’s ok to be both happy and sad at the same time. When we started planning our wedding, I knew I didn’t want the focus on Mum to be really sad moments

- she wouldn’t want that, my family wouldn’t want that. I knew I wanted to be able to feel the absolute high of our wedding day without the constant pain from the grief of her not being there. So how did I find that balance? I think you will be surprised in just how many ways I was able to add my Mum into our day. In fact, she was involved even before the big day, including Jake calling my Dad from her resting place to tell them he was going to propose and that was just the beginning. Mum got a huge shout out in our ceremony, we believe she helped us find one another with our first unofficial ‘date’ being on mother’s day. This wasn’t a sad mention of Mum for us, this was a thank you - a high five to Mum and such a nice way to mention Mum for the first time on our day. Sure, my family had spoken about Mum all morning, and Jake, Annie (our daughter) and I went to visit her in the morning; but for our guests it was like that deep breath moment of “it’s ok to mention Ann” that cut out that awkward and uncomfortable feeling a lot of us have around grief and death. I think that icebreaker really helped everyone to see and feel that joy and love can sit alongside our grief and not take over the good feelings. A lot of my nods to Mum throughout the day were not obvious. A lot only myself, family and a select few friends would have picked up on. This is what I wanted; I wanted to know she was there without everyone constantly bringing it up or being upset themselves. Clothing was one way I really incorporated my Mum. My Dad wore his wedding jacket that he married my Mum in, so when

he walked me down the aisle, I felt like they were both there with me. I wore velvet shoes as Mum was pretty famous for wearing matching velour tracksuits (it’s ok to laugh), and on Mum’s spot at the ceremony I put a matching velour tracksuit; this got a few laughs from my friends - they definitely understood that one. Wearing items from our loved ones is not a new idea but knowing that you can be subtle and have a laugh with it is definitely something I enjoyed. My wedding ring was also made custom and has two of my Mum’s diamonds from her rings in it; this is something I was so excited to do and have with me for life now. An added little touch was when Jake’s Mum gave us our rings she said “these are from both your Mums” - a small but powerful few words that really made that moment so much more special for me. The ceremony mentioned Mum, but I did in my own subtle way too. I ended my vows to Jake with “I love you, I love you, I love you like never before” song lyrics from a Fleetwood Mac song we played at my Mum’s funeral. A song I listen to often, a song Jake knows the meaning of and how precious it is to me. I am not sure how many people picked up on this, but

it really didn’t matter to me if anyone did. I knew Jake would get it and that was truly all that mattered. These little touches, little gestures are my favourite; everyone didn’t need to be involved in it but those who got it knew it’s importance. This is definitely something I would encourage – finding something that’s just for you and your nearest, or just you and your lost loved one on the day. Like your own little secret, so even if they are mentioned in no other way on the day you know you honoured them in your own private way. A few other things we did to inspire you: we had a floral piece made in baby’s breath which was one of the main flowers at my Mum and Dads wedding. We mentioned her briefly in our speeches, ending our speech with

“please make sure you have a hot jam donut, they are on Ann”. Mum really loved hot jam donuts, we used to get them all the time at the Sunday market and have lots of childhood memories of going to the Geelong Show and getting them with her. This was a nice fun way to bring Mum into the celebration part of our reception and something she would have enjoyed 110% on the day. Whilst we had many tears during the day, I did not feel the sadness of Mum not being there as I had incorporated her in so many different ways across the day. I’d incorporated her in meaningful ways, in fun ways, in enjoyable and laughable moments. I was truly able to feel the light and shade of it all. I hope in reading this, it inspires an idea or something you maybe hadn’t

thought of before. Just like weddings themselves, you can do them your own way; either stick with traditions or throw them away. There isn’t a one size fits all for the way we represent our loved ones on our wedding day either. You can do the traditional photo frame, or pictures on your bouquet or inside of your jacket, wearing an heirloom, putting a hat or flowers on a chair, or playing certain songs. You can celebrate them in whatever way feels true and right to you, a way that everyone will see and notice or just for yourself. Just like in all journeys of grief, there is no right or wrong way. Heck I am ten years in and still figuring it out! @thehogansweddings

SETTING BOUNDARIES WRITTEN BY NICOLE PENNING

Managing the expectation of others can be a hard hitting and sensitive topic when planning a wedding. Most of us will have a moment where we need to manage our own expectations with those of our family and friends; all while trying to stay present and celebrate the experience. In this article I want to share with you my tips on setting firm and fair boundaries so everyone can stay focused on what’s truly important – celebrating the commitment you’re making in front of those you hold dear. CONGRATULATIONS YOU ARE ENGAGED! But wait, don’t tell anyone just yet! Firstly, I want you to picture your dream wedding day: how does it look? Imagine the way you want to feel on your big day. What’s most important to you and your fiancé? Now that you can picture it, share it with the world! Being clear on what this day means to you and the feelings you want to evoke means you can start to set expectations from the very first phone call, text or social media post. While you and your partner will be wrapped up in your love bubble, opinions and unsolicited advice from well-meaning loved ones can start to flood in and it’s usually before you’ve even thought about any of the nitty gritty! And it all comes back to the main point of this article – this is your day. Setting the boundaries with our family, parental figures, besties, and friends wanting to party, needs to happen from the very beginning; because whether you have realised it or not, you are not the only one who has pictured your special day. Ask yourself the big questions, like do you want to elope? What season do you want to be married in? Do you want a morning or evening wedding? It‘s best that you’ve thought about these things before you talk to others about them so you and your partner feel ready to take on the opinions of everyone else who loves you. Tell them straight up, and as soon as you can, what your plans are. Be confident, be strong, be excited. Be firm in your nonnegotiables and share these so your loved ones are aware of your boundaries and limitations from the very beginning. Discussing the ground rules for your wedding together, and agreeing on them from the very beginning, is a failsafe way to make sure everyone is singing from the same hymn

book and helps avoid unnecessary tension. Finances My first tip is know your budget. A well-meaning loved one can have all the ideas in the world, but if it blows your budget, then that aint’ happening! Know how you’d like to finance the wedding and if you’re able to accept help from others, you’ll need to consider how you can involve them in the decision making. Have a discussion on what their contribution means to you and ask what the financial involvement means to them. How do they see you spending their hard-earned? Be open to suggestions and if they don’t align to what you envisioned, then you need to politely decline their offer – thank you, but no thank you. Compromise Out of respect you may be open to some ideas from your loved ones, just maybe not all of them. There are always ways to appease loved ones and follow traditions or suggestions by adding your own flair (and I dare say you’ll get a lot of ideas from this very magazine). Delegate The easiest way to make a loved one feel important, heard, and appreciated (and often that is all they are really wanting) is to ask them for help! They will cherish the time spent with you and look fondly back on these moments before your wedding day has arrived and long after it has come and gone. Mediator Find that one person who can mediate and be the neutral third party to help make the tough decisions stick. As a celebrant, I often tell my couples if this is what you want then blame me! Tell them your celebrant “said so”, and often there will be a well-tested and qualified reason why it should be so. Kindness matters Be strong but polite, firm but grateful – a thank you can go a long way. Remind yourself that those that love you really just want you to have the best day possible. Show your appreciation in thoughtful ways like a gift, a mention in your speeches, a special role to play on the day or a dedicated dance at the end of the night. The memories of their time spent with you leading up to and on your wedding day will mean more to them than they probably realise, and you will get to spend your day calm, happy and in love!

While you thought you’d feel on top of the world after the anticipated ‘best day of your life’, you feel sad, flat, and confused. If you’re feeling this way, you may be experiencing a phenomenon called the ‘post-wedding blues’. Typically the postwedding blues can also feel like apathy, grief, emptiness, low mood, a lack of purpose, regret, and disappointment. Many brides and grooms have reported feeling this way, with a 2018 study finding 12% of couples reporting a clinical increase in depressive symptoms after their wedding. If you find yourself in this position, know that you are not alone and there are many ways you can help yourself. Creating a new focus Many couples pour hours upon hours into planning their wedding and feel lost once it’s all over. If you’re feeling as if you put your heart and soul into your wedding and now feel as if you have a lack of purpose, it may be time to think about creating new goals and things to look forward to. You may feel like organising a big trip, creating a side hustle, investing in a DIY project, doing further study, or setting a personal goal. Think about anything you feel like you didn’t have enough time for before. The process of planning and

setting a new goal should leave you feeling excited and energised in no time. Enjoy the small moments Have you noticed that the big and exciting events in your life never quite live up to your expectations? You feel as if they should be life-changing, yet leave you feeling disappointed? This sensation has been called the ‘Perfect Moment Syndrome’ by author Sarah Wilson in First, We Make The Beast Beautiful. This common occurrence happens when we have high expectations on how big life events are supposed to make us feel. We are led to believe that the wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day of our life, so it’s hard to adjust our own expectations that it might not be. If your wedding day did not meet your expectations, find comfort in knowing many other couples feel the same. An antidote to this feeling is savouring and enjoy the small and seemingly insignificant moments in the days following your wedding - a delicious coffee, laughing with friends, or catching a beautiful sunset. Any small moment with no expectations can bring us deep joy if we stop and take notice. Try to unpack why you feel this way Post-wedding blues can happen for many different reasons, so before you focus on how to move through these feelings it can help to understand the cause. Common reasons couples report include: feeling disappointed with

aspects of their wedding, not enjoying their wedding day, having regrets about wedding choices, worrying about wedding debt, family or partner conflict, losing a sense of purpose once the wedding is over, and questioning the idea of marriage now it has become a reality. All of this is completely normal. If you’re not sure why you have the post wedding blues, it can help to journal your thoughts or talk to someone you trust such as your partner. Once you understand why you feel this way, it will help bring clarity to how you feel, know how to action anything you may need and allow you to process these feelings. Seek support No one expects to feel this way after their wedding and many couples hide how they feel for fear of judgement or stigma from others. Embracing the mantra that life is an adventure best lived boldly, Bri and Derek are in it together Attending the same high school but never really connecting (much to Bri’s dismay), the couple came together through mutual friends years later and have never looked back. Travelling around Australia in a tent and calling six different states and territories home, getting married was another adventure the pair were excited to delve into.

Ready to embrace whatever Mother Nature threw at them, Bri and Derek worked with their venue Rocklea Farm to keep their guests cool during a ceremony with predicted heat waves of 38 degrees. And while that balmy prediction was downgraded to a rainy day of just 24 , the couple were taken aback by how beautiful their new ceremony location was. Saying their vows in a marque rather than outside, Rocklea created the perfect mood with fairy lights and lanterns to bring the intimacy right up. Taking the weather change in their stride, Bri and Derek were thrilled with how their vendors, like caravan bar Boutique Event Co, were able to adapt while still bringing the vibe. And while the same couldn’t be said of the wet and muddy hem of her wedding dress, Bri was ready to embrace the weather and dance the night away with a quick change into a shorter party option. Bringing together the personal touches of Bri’s handywork and the love that only family and friends can bring to such a special day, the celebration was filled with mementos the couple will cherish forever. From Bri’s hand-poured resin place settings, sunglasses seating chart, and florals brought together with the help of her mother and step mother, to the 150 cupcakes made by sister-inlaw Cassie, and the bouquets made by her bridesmaid - the perfect retro summer party was set. Set against the backdrop of all this colour and texture, Derek’s best man added even more love into the room with a sentimental and heartfelt speech the couple, and their guests, will never forget. Popping a bottle of bubbly and enjoying a starlit bath after their guests had gone home, Bri and Derek soaked up their biggest adventure yet; chatting and reminiscing until the early hours. What a magical end to a night full of love, colour and fun!

CEREMONY SEATING HOW TO TAILOR THE PERFECT SETTING FOR YOUR CEREMONY WRITTEN BY JESSIE BELLE

Hi there, I’m Jessie Belle - regular columnist and number one fan of Geelong Wedding Guide Magazine. As an experienced celebrant I have a bunch of handy tips and tricks tucked neatly under my pink puffy sleeves! I love sharing my knowledge to give couples the most amazing experience on their wedding day and I want to share it with you. Strap yourself in and let me hold your hand as you navigate ceremony seating. By now you might have discovered that there are many elements to your wedding day that you never thought you’d have to consider - and ceremony seating may not have been something high on your priority list. Let me help alleviate the guesswork and give you the best options to suit your ceremony vibe and aesthetic. “But hang on Jessie, that’s something our venue or stylist will deal with, right?” The short answer is yes, and any coordinator worth their weight will do a great job too. But I have popped some handy tips together below to help you decide what style is right for you, I want to arm you with some ideas so you can share them with your wedding team. GUEST SEATING Seating your guests depends on many factors, such as the size of the

ceremony location, how many seats your venue can hold and your guest numbers. It’s important to have a conversation with your venue to see how all these factors will impact your decision making. Here are some ceremony seating options: 1. All guests seated - this creates a more formal setting for the ceremony and suits traditional ceremonies. The benefit is that your celebrant doesn’t have to worry about seating guests as everyone has a place. 2. All guests standing - this creates a more relaxed and inclusive setting for your ceremony. You may like to provide a couple of seats for those who need it and the rest stand around in a semicircle, engulfing the couple in what I like to call a ‘circle of love’ - like a warm embrace! 3. Some guests seated, some guests standing - this is currently the most popular option for ceremonies. You can choose to seat half your guests and the remaining guests gather and stand behind the last row of chairs. This creates a more relaxed feel. I often witness guests cuddling up to one another as they feel the love during the ceremony and its super cute! SEATING ARRANGEMENT Once you’ve decided on your style,

the next step is arranging -and yes, you have a choice! 1. Traditional chairs in straight rows with an aisle down the middle. This will create a more formal feel for your ceremony. 2. Modern chairs positioned in a slight curve to create more of a semicircle with an aisle in the middle. This will bring an inclusive and intimate vibe and the guests on the outer edges will have a better view of the couple. 3. Rule Breaking - chairs are positioned in a semi-circle without an aisle down the middle! This is for the couple who have chosen not to walk down the aisle and have been mingling with their guests before the ceremony. I don’t have a favourite child but if I did.... WHO SITS WHERE? Hopefully by now, you can picture the perfect seating for your ceremony. Now here is the fun bit, deciding who sits where. If you have interesting family dynamics, this is very important to get right and to never leave to

chance. Let me tell you some of the best ways to make sure all your guests are well looked after: 1. Name Tags - simple yet effective. Make a name tag for each chair so there is zero confusion as to who sits where. You can do this for the first row, first two rows or you can name every single chair. 2. Chaperone - everyone loves to feel a little spesh so perhaps you’d like to ask a family member to invite the important guests to take their seats. The chaperone may use a list of who sits where and invite them forward. This will offer a warm and welcoming approach for guests. 3. Reserved signs - pop some reserved signs on the seats you wish

to keep free for certain guests and let those guests know that there is a seat reserved just for them. It’s important to let family members know which side of the aisle to sit on as this is a common question I get from the guests when they arrive. Decide on this with your partner beforehand so that the celebrant can direct traffic. HOT TIPS 1. Ask your celebrant or a nominated guest to fill all the available seats as it creates a warm and welcoming environment, and your photographer/ videographer will love you! 2. Venues will allow enough aisle space for two people to comfortably walk together down the aisle, however be sure to ask them to make the aisle

wider if you have chosen three of you to walk arm-in-arm down the aisle. 3. If you have any guests that need specific accessibility, ask your venue to leave a space by the aisle so that they can get to their spot easily. 4. Ask your venue to space the seats closer together so that it feels more inclusive, and guests can snuggle into each other and feel the love! Hopefully you’ve picked up a few new ideas to make your ceremony feel amazing. Remember to always consult your venue and your team for their advice to create the most magical day. A failsafe guide to taking the stress out of writing your personal vows. Hey there, it’s your friendly celebrant in-the-know here - Jessie Belle! Let me guess, you’re reading this because you and your partner are choosing to include personal vows in your wedding ceremony, but you have no idea where to start? Well have no fear as I am here to guide you through the process every step of the way. The biggest fear I hear from couples when it comes to planning their ceremony is always about writing and saying their vows to each other. I am here to alleviate the stress so you can shake off those worries and enjoy the process. “But how is that possible Jessie?” I hear you say? Oh, it’s possible. Get ready because I am about to throw a whole heap of wonderful ideas your way that by the time you have read through this piece, you’ll be reaching for the sparkly pen and perfume scented paper (Grease reference anyone?) to jot down all the creative ideas you have swirling around your head! Let’s break it down. Personal vows are a personal choice Before we go any further, I may just

saved you a bucketload of stress by bringing this fun fact to your attention: did you know that you don’t have to say personal vows to one another during the ceremony? If the thought of trying to read loving words typed up on a bit of paper through shaking hands in front of your guests is your idea of pure torture, then you can choose to opt out. Just because it’s tradition doesn’t mean you have to do it. Saying personal vows to each other can be a lovely aspect of the ceremony for those that enjoy the process and it can be the most amazing experience for you and your guests. However, there are so many other ways you can convey your love to each other aside from personal vows if it’s just not vibing with you. Here are some alternative options: 1. Ask your celebrant to say your personal vows on your behalf. Celebrants love, love so use them to your advantage. They can say your words in the third person e.g. “Ernie, Bert loves you so much and is so excited to spend the rest of your days bickering about who is going to turn the light switch off each night...”, or they might

send each of you questions to answer about the other and piece together the lovely things you’ve said in a few paragraphs. Voila! 2. Write a letter to each other to open on the morning of your ceremony. That way you can start your morning all loved up and the day will just get better from there. 3. Say your personal vows to each other in private during portrait photos. The most treasured part of your wedding day will be the moment the two of you are alone and you can soak up all those ‘just married’ feels! It is the perfect opportunity to find a quiet spot, say your vows to one another and your photographer can hang back and capture the moment. It means you can be more raw and honest (and saucy if that’s your jam!) and say all the things you don’t normally get a chance to tell one another when life is so hectic. Handy fact: Your legal vows are not the same as your personal vows. It is a legal requirement when getting married in Australia to state your legal vows during your ceremony. This is something your celebrant can share with you.

WELL DONE, YOU’VE MADE IT THROUGH AND HAVE DECIDED THAT YOU ARE GOING TO ROCK THOSE PERSONAL VOWS SO LET’S MAKE THIS AS EASY AS POSSIBLE FOR YOU. STRAP IN, LET’S GO! 1. TALK TO YOUR PARTNER (SAY WHAT???)

3. PIECE IT TOGETHER

The best place to start when writing your wedding vows is to talk to each other about it! Decide on a style that suits you both and go from there. Here are the three main points to decide on before you start:

FEEL - are you going for romantic and heartfelt, or

Handy hint : Start your vows using your partner’s name. It seems so simple, but it really is effective. Better still, if you have an endearing nickname for your partner, this is the best time to whip it out!

fun and light-hearted? Try a combination and see what feels good.

LENGTH - Decide on the length of your vows so that

you are both on the same page. Do you plan to say a quick little sentence each or a few paragraphs? If you want my expert opinion I suggest busting out three to five paragraphs.

STYLE - The other option is to write your vows togeth-

er so that you are united in your promises to each other. If you are planning to write your vows separately and surprise each other on the day, ask your celebrant if you can email your vows to them to make sure the length and vibe match up nicely.

promise to uphold throughout your marriage. Make a list of everything you already do that makes your relationship so great. Then list areas you could improve on to make your marriage even stronger. It may be practical like remembering to put the bins out on bin night or it could be nurturing like never forgetting to kiss your partner goodbye each day.

3. FUTURE Your wedding day is just the beginning of

a fabulous lifetime together so what does your future hold for you? What do you look forward to most about sharing it together?

TIPS & TRICKS FOR CEREMONIES WRITTEN BY SUE WARNER

We all know for a wedding to take place, there is a legal section of the ceremony that must happen. But ceremonies are also a way to set the scene and get everyone up and about before the party begins. In this article you’ll find some of the tips and tricks I’ve learnt in over 300+ ceremonies in ten simple steps: 1. Where possible, consider having your ceremony at the same venue as the reception. It makes it easier for you, your guests and the vendors. 2. On your invitations, I always recommend putting an earlier time for arrival before the ceremony, e.g. a 3.45pm arrival for a 4pm ceremony. That way guests will be ready and settled before the official start time. Be mindful not to make it too early as some venues are putting together the final touches and aren’t ready for guests who arrive too early. 3. In the Welcome section of your ceremony, it’s lovely to include a little one-liner about each of your wedding party, especially if not everyone knows who they are. It’s also cute for your party to give a little wave @bellarinecelebrant

when their name is called. 4. If you’ve got a wedding party, delegate some jobs to them. They’re there to support you in the lead up to your big day, let them do something to free up your time. 5. Talk to your celebrant about different ways to up the fun. I offer couples a host of different ways and it’s about finding what will work for each couple. You might look at taking a shot with your witnesses straight after the signing as a way to ‘seal the deal’. Perhaps you could include a guests’ vow; this can sound corny but it works really well early on in the ceremony, especially if you’ve got guests who don’t know each other. It’s always worth a conversation to find out what might work for you. 6. Some couples love to do a firstlook with their photographer for a number of reasons. It can ward off nerves and is worth discussing with your photographer 7. And that’s a good segway to my next point... I know weddings are expensive but a professional photographer capturing your most exciting moments when you’re looking a zillion dollars is

sooooo worth it! Perhaps cut back on bonbonnieres or the cake or whatever you can, I highly recommend getting a good professional photographer. If budget is a concern, perhaps find one that will just attend specific parts of the day, not the whole shebang. 8. I know it’s boring and you don’t want to think about bad weather, but please consider having a plan B. Victoria is renowned for changes in weather and I’m not just talking heavy downpours, it could very easily be forty degrees too! Remember your guests are waiting there in the elements for longer than you are. 9. Talk to your venue about recommended vendors. They will refer you to vendors they know are reliable, professional and familiar with the venue. If you can get suppliers who’ve worked together before, it’s magic and makes for a relaxed environment with everything fitting together like clockwork. 10. Start planning and booking your vendors asap, the good ones book out early. And if making that initial payment is what’s holding you back, talk to them about a payment plan that works for both of you.

25.08.2023 // PROVENANCE Not many people can say that 2020 was a year they want to remember forever, but for Danielle and Ryan it may just be the best thing that ever happened to them. After connecting on a dating app and bonding over daily chats, they decided to meet up in between one of Victoria’s many lockdowns. Finding out that they are very different people on a first date, Danielle shared with her Mum that she wasn’t convinced Ryan was interested in her because he was so quiet. Ryan on the other hand thought he had nailed the date and was extra chatty! Summoning the courage to ask for a second date, Ryan showed Danielle he

was the one for her and after meeting Danielle’s dog Bailey (and getting his approval of course), they’ve been inseparable ever since. After surviving several lockdowns and getting creative with covid-safe dates, there was no holding them back – buying their first home together in 2021 and packing their suitcases to travel the world. It was during one of these incredible trips that Ryan popped the question against the backdrop of the Amalfi Coast, and despite the heat (and the mountain-side stairs!), Danielle and Ryan agree it was the perfect engagement.

Deciding that they couldn’t wait any longer to be married, Ryan and Danielle pulled together their big day in just twelve months – choosing a picture-perfect winter wedding in the grand hall at Provenance Wines. Waking to a sparkling twenty-something degree day, Danielle and her bridesmaids spent the morning getting ready at R Hotel in Geelong. For Danielle, putting on her show-stopping wedding dress was a moment she will never forget. Making the experience even more special, Danielle included her parents in this once in a lifetime moment with her mum helping her into the dress and her dad getting a first look at his daughter on her wedding day (we’re not crying, you are!) Surrounded by the flicker of dozens of candles and a live acoustic version of ‘can’t help falling in love’, Danielle and Ryan were finally married in front of their nearest and dearest. They credit their celebrant Jessie Belle for creating an intimate ceremony that really spoke to the heart of who they are as a couple. Deciding to honour their little dog Bailey, who passed just four weeks before the wedding, the couple decided to donate to Geelong Animal Resue in lieu of wedding favours – a really special way to celebrate the little one that brought them so much joy. Ready to dance the night away, Danielle and Ryan started their reception with a bang – sharing their first dance together before Danielle shared a special dance with her Dad (and Daryl Braithwaite’s Horses of course). Getting a little too enthusiastic on the dance floor, Danielle’s dress snapped but thanks to a quick-thinking maid of honour, a complete wardrobe malfunction was avoided! Ending their night under the twinkle of sparklers, Danielle and Ryan’s winter wedding was a true reflection of the love they have for each other – a testament to these two soul mates and their future together.

14.04.2023 // PRIVATE PROPERTY This love story is one made from pure magic. A love story that sparks joy - one that those around Courtney and Jake know didn’t happen by chance. Against the backdrop of someone else’s wedding, Courtney and Jake’s romance began without them even knowing it. After their initial connection working alongside each other at a wedding, Courtney spent time in Canada and reached out to Jake for work experience when she landed back in Australia. After working a few weddings together, their connection grew stronger and stronger – each of them crediting this special formative time in their relationship to the unique bond they

now have. Chatting late one night after a job on mother’s day, Courtney opened up about the loss of her mother. 22.10.2022 // BARUNAH PLAINS Playing games and true love don’t usually go hand-in-hand but for Sarah and Angus, it was a friendly match of beach volleyball that brought them together (see what we did there?) Starting their love story as friends, the pair decided to finally take the next step in their relationship, and after exploring Europe together they moved into their first place as girlfriend and boyfriend. As the world closed its doors during the pandemic, Sarah and Angus were revelling in the fact that they could spend more time together and sealed the deal with a new business venture.

Finally out of one of our many lockdowns, Angus organised a much needed day out to the Mornington Peninsula. Heading to the exact same spot were Angus first asked Sarah to be his girlfriend, the pair spent the day soaking up good food and wine before berry picking in the afternoon. Using this wholesome moment to his advantage, Andy pretended to pick the perfect berry – bending down and getting Sarah’s attention to look at the huge ‘berry’ he had picked. Pulling out Sarah’s engagement ring and turning to propose to the love of his life, the engagement was a moment of pure joy for the couple.

Planning their dream day was a creative adventure for Sarah and Angus. Choosing Barunah Plains as their wedding venue, the pair set to work on bringing together incredible vendors that would bring their vision to life, as well as taking on countless DIY projects themselves. Unfortunately for Sarah and Angus, Mother Nature had other ideas in mind when their wedding day arrived. While they prepared for the biggest day of their lives, a lot of the state was under water with floods ravaging the area. Impacting the couple’s day from the start, the roads surrounding their venue was shut off with detours in place and the bridge from their ceremony to the reception space was under water. Crediting the quick thinking of their wedding planner, and a little bit of luck, the venue moved quick to use large trucks to get Sarah and Angus’ wedding guests from one spot to another and the water receded in enough time to get everyone to the ceremony before Sarah walked down the aisle. Embracing the sunshine that came out as the couple affirmed their love for each other, Sarah and Angus’ wedding was the beam of light that was needed during a chaotic time. Radiating love and fun, and relishing in the incredible celebration they had managed to create together, Sarah and Angus feel so lucky to have had the wedding day of their dreams become a reality. Rain, hail and a whole lotta shine, nothing was going to keep this love story back.

2004 – remember that year? The Athens Olympics, dating sites with no photos (pardon?) and Mary Donaldson became Crown Princess Mary of Denmark. For Peter and Christian, 2004 was the start of something magical. After first connecting on a dating site, Peter invited Christian to a friend’s house to watch the Olympics. After settling in, the pair spent the evening chatting before deciding to leave together. A true pair of gentlemen, Peter and Christian shared an innocent taxi ride and as if in a real-life fairy tale, Christian (or Cinderella

for the purpose of this story) somehow lost his shoe in the taxi – never to be seen again! After that first night, it was obvious there was an undeniable connection between Peter and Christian, and from then on Christian made the trip from Melbourne to Geelong several times a week. Sharing their relationship with their loved ones brought the couple closer together and it was Peter’s father that welcomed Christian to the family, uniting this beautiful couple forevermore.

Witnessing the love that two people have for each other and sharing that with the world is one of life’s greatest honours. The wedding of Peter and Christian truly shines in the reflection of the love their nearest and dearest held for them that day. Choosing 1915 as the perfect blend of style and location, the couple entrusted their love story with their celebrant Ruth and the pair were married surrounded by greenery and bright florals. A highlight for Peter and Christian was having Christian’s grandmother walk him down the aisle, and you can almost feel the joy leaping off the pictures so lovingly captured by their photographer Mike. Spending the rest of the night celebrating with friends and family, the party kicked on at Recess Bar where the couple invited twenty of their closest friends. Their night was made - complete with good vibes, a few shots or two, and a Drag Queen for good measure. We’ll cheers to that!

27.04.2023 // WOOLBROOK HOMESTEAD Jessie and Matt didn’t meet each other thinking they had met the person they would spend their life with – instead their beautiful connection growing over years of friendship. Meeting after first graduating high school, the pair were instant friends and over the next few years would bump into each other at different events despite living across the bay from each other in Melbourne and Geelong. Taking the next step and realising they wanted to be together, Jessie and Matt travelled up and down the Geelong-Melbourne highway for the first years of

their relationship, before buying their first home and renovating it just as the pandemic hit. On a romantic weekend away to their favourite camping spot in Port Fairy, Matt surprised Jessie with a proposal surrounded by family (including her sister and partner hiding in the bushes to take the perfect engagement video). With their family waiting at home to celebrate with them, Matt created a perfect day for them, involving all of Jessie’s loved ones and a special appointment at local jewellers Leskes so Jessie could design her own ring.

Planning their wedding day was a task Jessie and Matt walked into knowing what was important to them – their family and their fur-baby Oakley. Deciding to share this intimate moment with close family meant that the couple could focus on pouring their heart into a celebration that reflected exactly who they are as a couple. Coming together to create their dream wedding day, Jessie and Matt leaned on family to set up and style their venue – the picture-perfect Woolbrook Homestead. Honing her skills as a florist, Jessie styled and created her own bouquets and all the floral arrangements, styling the dining room and pouring her heart into creating a beautiful space for her loved ones. After saying their vows beside their four-legged friend, the couple were ready to party – enlisting local vendors to create and share their favourite cocktails (white chocolate passionfruit martini thanks!) and their favourite meal of American BBQ and baked cheesecake. Spending the night watching the sunset and surrounded by the love of their guests, Jessie and Matt (alongside Oakley of course) popped a bottle of champagne to make their first toast as husband and wife – cheers to forever!

No doubt at some point during your wedding planning (or perhaps even before you were engaged) the thought has crossed your mind… what if we just elope instead? For too long, elopements have been pitted as the evil, secretive cousin of weddings; hell-bent on destroying the sacred institution of weddings with their personalised elements, general bucking of tradition and more private nature. The truth is that elopements and weddings happily coexist when it comes to celebrating love. There is no good vs bad, right vs wrong – only what you and your partner choose as a reflection of your love for each other. The world of elopements resembles less of an evil cousin and more of a loving sibling; whilst both ceremonies have their differences, their purposes remain aligned towards the good things in life. Their styles are different, but they both at their core celebrate the same thing. Don’t feel pressure to choose between these two formats. Simply design a day that the two of you want as you celebrate your love, and then let other people worry about a label! So, what actually is eloping? Weddings are a beautiful exclamation in front of all your loved ones that you are committing to a life of awesomeness together. After first meeting in their teens at university, the pair quickly fell in love and spent the first half of their love story travelling the world before moving to Geelong

to start their family. Alex chose one of their travel adventures to propose to Teigan, popping the question during a mountain hike in Queensland. After sharing countless experiences together, the pair have recently embarked on their greatest adventure yet – welcoming a son into the world.

Bringing their loved ones together for a day of celebration, Teigan and Alex decided to merge their big day with another huge milestone in their lives – their son’s first birthday. Focusing on family and staying true to what matters most to them as a couple, Teigan and Alex chose to be officially married in front of immediate family the week before their ceremony at the Geelong courthouse. As they welcomed close family and friends to their day of celebration, they asked their best man to double as their celebrant, and affirmed their love for each other as they read their vows under an arbour full of colour. As the skies opened up, Teigan and Alex credit the incredible team at Merne for saving the moment with umbrella’s arriving just in time – keeping their day as relaxed and loved-up as possible. Surrounding themselves with good vibes, the couple made sure even the littlest guests were included with seventeen kids under the age of three kept entertained by play equipment hired for the day – while their bigger guests enjoyed delicious food and drinks, and listened to the musical talents of Abe Anderson. Capturing every moment perfectly, Teigan and Alex want to give a huge shout out to their photographer Kat Cayley, who truly understood the unique vibe of their day and was completely invested in making sure everything went perfectly. In 2015 I discovered a whole new world of style that sparked a creative venture I didn’t see coming. Modern bridal opened my eyes to a brand-new aesthetic and fast forward nearly nine years later, and it’s evolved to a movement of empowered brides choosing to create a wedding day that is aligned to their core values. When I first discovered modern bridal, or what later came to be rebranded as the ‘cool bride’ movement, it inspired me to dig deeper and create something special. Building on the cool-bride style and departing from the traditional wedding norms, I became utterly obsessed with a handful of designers changing the bridal scene. They were designing contemporary, effortless, fashionforward wedding dresses for the new modern bride. I carefully selected my favourite designers to launch my store and SoHo Bride was born. In 2023 wedding dresses command their own place in the fashion world. So much so, the dress (and bridal fashion in general) has become amalgamated with the world of fast fashion. Bridal fashion has become exciting and trend setting; but with all this momentum, can the modern and conscious bride shop sustainably? I believe the answer is yes and this is largely thanks to a paradigm shift in the way couples are approaching modern weddings. Moving away from what was a carbon copy event, couples are tailoring their weddings as a celebration that represents them as a couple and their love for each other. Because of this, the backdrop to which the modern bride is getting married has also changed. While brides are seeking a more unique style for their big day, they are also becoming increasingly aware of the impact of their choices. The rise of responsible consumerism is steering people away from fast fashion and towards a mindset of longevity and quality. Through artfully curating a collection of gowns, SoHo bride offers ethical options for today’s conscious

consumer. We have affiliated ourselves with likeminded brands, selecting styles that both embody and transcend the latest trends. Take the Payton gown by London designer Charlie Brear as an example. This gown’s minimal, modern design allows our brides to add their own personality with statement earrings, a veil, overskirt, jacket or sleeves. This gown is one of many minimal, modern designs brides will find in our store. Less is more is our vibe. When shopping for a gown, affordability is high on the list of priorities. Equally crucial is the emphasis on quality and ethical production practices. SoHo bride advocates for transparency in the supply chain, affiliating only with designers who do the same. From concept to creation, all production takes place within the design house of our stocked brands. We believe in slow fashion and not mass production, ensuring each gown is made especially for each bride. All our gowns are made to order, meaning we don’t have piles of stock that would end up in a landfill. One of the key pillars of sustainable fashion lies in the materials used. Traditional polyester and synthetic fabrics have faced criticism for their inability to biodegrade and unsustainable manufacturing processes. Fabrics like linen, recycled fabrics and bamboo satin are great alternatives and boast lower environmental footprints. Our own inhouse brand Chasing the Sun offers a collection made from recycled rose petals. A delicate silk like, satin weave that floats like a cloud and doesn’t cost the earth. As the bridal industry continues to grapple with its environmental and social responsibilities, sustainable practice represents a beacon of hope for a more conscientious future. By embracing innovation, ethical practices, and mindful consumption, the threads of change are weaving a brighter outlook that transcends seasons and styles - paving the way for an industry that not only looks good but does good.

Some love stories aren’t the meet-cute across the room of a lively and sophisticated dinner party, or a romance novel where a pair of star-crossed lovers defy the odds to be together. Some love stories start under the dim lights of a night club dancefloor, where the future bride has snuck in with a fake ID and the future groom can’t help but feed off her party vibe. For Abbey and Nathan the start of their love story sparked a romance that has continued to evolve and change as they’ve grown up together. Never a couple to shy away from adventure, Nathan’s proposal to Abbey involved a literal uphill battle. Sweltering in the QLD heat, Nathan dragged Abbey out early to enjoy a walk together despite her dislike of early mornings. After a whole lot of complaining and getting lost along the way, the pair finally arrived at a beautiful waterfall location. Only problem was, someone forgot to tell the waterfall to have some actual water it! Unbeknownst to Abbey, Nathan had planned the whole thing – complete with a ring on one knee. The perfect ending to a not-so perfect morning.

One big party. That’s the best way to describe the wedding of Abbey and Nathan. Planning their day around good vibes and a go-with-the-flow mentality, the couple injected fun into every element of their wedding. Spending the morning with her party high on happiness, Abbey took the tennis court for a cute impromptu photoshoot to surprise her tennis coach groom with. Walking down the aisle on the grounds of Bellbrae Harvest, Abbey and Nathan were married surrounded by bright coloured flowers upon flowers, nestled under the trees of the picture perfect grounds. Crediting their gorgeous day to the tireless work of their incredible vendors, Abbey and Nathan were keen to spend the night celebrating with their guests. With the drinks flowing, the music pumping and love filling the room, the bride and groom opened the dance floor early and got the party started. A night no one will forget, and the party of a lifetime, Abbey and Nathan’s wedding was a feast for the eyes!

We’ve all seen the movies, read the books or even daydreamed about the New Years Eve party where, after nearly missing each other through a series of sliding doors, the main characters catch each other’s eye across the room and fall madly in love. For Renee and Jayden, this is no daydream - this is (almost) their actual love

story. After each changing their original New Years Eve plans and finding themselves celebrating at a small gathering of friends, Renee and Jayden connected over their love of basketball and have been inseparable ever since. The couple credit their spark to not taking life too seriously, learning from each other and always seeking new adventures.

Choosing 1915 as the perfect venue for their big day, Renee and Jayden took pride in personalising their winter wedding by bringing together a team of incredible vendors. Blending charm, humour and heart – the couple really connected with each vendor and attribute this to feeling completely at ease on the day. Creating a space filled with colour, Renee and Jayden used florals from The Posie Place and a wall of greenery to bring the intimacy up, and compliment 1915’s minimalist charm. They sourced frames from local op shops and garage sales, and finished them with LED lighting for the perfect romantic glow. Adding special touches as much as possible to their celebration, Renee and Jayden chose to create personalised moments with close friends and family throughout the day; ditching the bouquet toss for a special moment of pause and gifting the bouquet to Renee’s childhood best friend, and asking a close friend to MC their big day. A wedding day bursting with charm, a love story for the ages - Renee and Jayden’s romance is one that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Are you and your better half considering the idea of hiring a videographer for your big day? It’s something I hear couples contemplate all the time. It’s a quick way to save on the budget, but let me educate you on why I think investing in a videographer is priceless (well it does come at a price, but the sentiment is there). If you’re going to spend endless hours and a fair amount of money planning one epic party, I know I would want to experience it more than once! We’ve all heard the saying that the day goes by in the blink of an eye. Well, it’s no joke. Your wedding day is a whirlwind of emotions, and before you know it, it’s over. On your wedding day, there will be moments that words can’t describe. That’s where video steps in, creating your very own rom-com recap of the day! A videographer captures the essence of your day, the moments that photos alone can’t quite convey. Don’t get me wrong, great photos say a lot about a point in time, but capturing the atmosphere around that moment can give you all the feels and bring you back to exactly how you felt in a moment. There is something about the combination of audio and movement that takes you back to that epic dance floor, and a moment during the first look - watching your partner hold back tears for a split second before the

floodgates broke open. It’s the sound of your aunt’s laughter bellowing through the crowd at speeches and being able to figure out whose fault it was that the champagne tower toppled down and broke into a million pieces. Photographers freeze moments in time - it’s an art form - and I am damn lucky to work with some of the best. And a videographer? They’re the storytellers who bring those frozen moments to life, creating memories that you’ll cherish forever. I just know how much fun it is to pop my Mum and Dad’s wedding film into the dusty VCR player. Film is one of the closest things we have to time travel, and I love that I can jump into the 80s to see all that permed hair and puffy sleeves - not only is your film a new guilty pleasure to watch over and over and over, it’s a gift for generations to come. And if I do say so myself they’re a tad more fancy than the old camcorder wedding films from the 80s. Now, let’s talk about finding the best videographer for you. There are endless styles of videographers out there ready to lend their lens to capture your day. But which style/company is for you? I would start by getting some popcorn ready and binge-watching wedding films from a wide range of businesses. When you find yourself getting goosebumps, laughing, and tearing up watching a couple of strangers saying ‘I do,’ this one could be for you! Because if you are

moved by a wedding film featuring two strangers, just imagine when you watch a film featuring you and your soulmate. The second most important part of choosing your video dream team is to make sure you get along with them like a house on fire! You will possibly spend more time with your videographer and photographer on your wedding day than you will with your better half. Who you get on board will play such a huge part in the energy and experience you and all of your loved ones have on the day. So my tip is to jump on a Zoom, a bit like a first date, and get to know them, and feel like they could actually be a friend that you would go to the pub and have a beer with! You want a videographer who really clicks with you guys because when they sit down to make your film and create your memories, it makes all the difference if they understand you and your style. Another aspect of finding your perfect videographer is making sure that you have a video/photo dream team! These two will work hand in hand to create your dream day, so you want to make sure they are on the same page and not giving you mixed signals. My top tip here is to just ask! If you book your photographer first - ask them who they

think would be a great fit to capture your day and vice versa. Usually, these memory-makers have favourite vendors they love to team up with or have a list of vendors they dream of teaming up with. If you can get a photographer and videographer duo who are just as passionate as each other and share the same vision - that is where the fun begins! Guaranteed good times ahead! So, when it comes to choosing where to spend your hard-earned money,

consider this: memories are worth every penny. Photographers and videographers help you relive one of the happiest days of your life over and over and over! There’s just something about video that truly captures emotions – grandma’s teary eyes, the warmth of a hug, the crowd going wild. It’s not just footage; it’s the voices, the laughter, and the love that bring the memories flooding back. I think this quote from my favourite book, The Great Gatsby

says it all – “Have you ever stood in a moment and wished that you could stop time?” A videographer lets you do just that, capturing the most precious of moments you can revisit whenever you want. 28.10.2023 // INDUSTRIE 26 Mikaela and Andy’s love story is the definition of wholesome – true love found against the backdrop of a children’s birthday party and a meet-cute to rival any rom-com. Meeting at the birthday party of a mutual friend’s child, Mikaela and Andy spent their time playing basketball with the kids and talking for hours, well after the other guests had left. For Mikaela, something just clicked

when she met Andy, and when he sent her flowers the next day with his phone number it was like their future together was sealed. Inseparable ever since, Mikaela and Andy have travelled the world, welcomed two beautiful boys, built their first family home and started a business together. Affectionately calling themselves the A-team alongside their children, the couple are so excited for what the future holds.

Surrounded by their two children, Andy proposed to Mikaela on holiday near Byron Bay and they made big plans to elope to Greece for their wedding. After planning their engagement party, the couple got itchy feet and wanted to be married as soon as possible. Throwing all plans out the door, Mikaela and Andy secretly booked the last time slot at the registry in Melbourne and with their photographer and hair stylist in tow – their happily ever after was set to go. On the morning of their wedding, Mikaela got ready alongside her mum, sister and cousin before getting in the car for their first-look photos at a friend’s property. Despite timing their day to perfection, the traffic Melbourne-bound was not playing nicely and the couple were stuck in traffic, leaving only ten mins until their ceremony start time when they finally arrived. Like a scene out of a movie, Mikaela dodged traffic in her wedding dress and bouquet to make it just in time. On the arm of her father, Mikaela walked down the aisle in front of their family while all the noise and chaos of their arrival faded away and the couple felt a wave of calm and serenity wash over their big moment. After the official ceremony, the wedding party went to a rooftop bar to celebrate and headed back down the highway to Industrie 26 to attend the engagement party they had planned for their family and friends. Keeping up the secret, Mikaela changed into a different dress and with the help of their MC, the couple were announced as Mr and Mrs to the cheers, tears and surprise of their guests. Catching everyone off guard, Mikaela and Andy read their vows in front of their guests and included their children in the exchanging of the rings. Proving that true love is always worth celebrating, Mikaela and Andy’s wedding is the perfect mix of spontaneity, heart and living in the moment.

HOW TO CHOOSE A MAKEUP ARTIST FOR YOUR WEDDING • When booking a makeup artist, it’s important to bring your own ideas and inspiration to the table while also listening and letting them guide you on what’s suited to your style and colouring. • Not all great makeup artists will have a strong social media following but they should have clear, unedited images of their work to give you a sense of what you can expect from them. • It’s always a good idea to read reviews and testimonials to get an idea of how the person will work on the day. • Be sure to meet your artist. If you don’t feel a connection, move on – you don’t want to spend all that time on your day with someone that isn’t your vibe. WHY HAVE A MAKEUP TRIAL • Your makeup trial is an opportunity to meet with your makeup artist and determine if you like their style – within the first 15 minutes you will know if they know if they’re what you need. • Booking a trial is also an opportunity to visualise how you will look on your wedding day. Where possible you should also consider booking other services like your hair and spray tan around the same time to bring your entire look together before the big day. • Book your trial in the morning to see how the makeup wears for a full day and transitions from day to

evening lighting. It’s important to remember that colour choices and intensities can always be tweaked on the day! SKIN PREP • Your makeup is only as good as the base you’re working with. Doing a little skin prep before you jump in the chair can make a HUGE difference! • Depending on your skin type, your skin care regime should include regular prep such as exfoliation and hydration 1-2 times a week. Doing this the night before your makeup appointment will remove dead skin and give you a smoother, more youthful appearance. • To give your skin a boost of hydration and brightness, opt for a sheet mask and combine with a moisturising treatment. Apply the night before and get ready to glow! • Hydrate from within by drinking plenty of water in the lead up. Dehydrated skin can look lack lustre and makeup can appear cakey on the skin. WHAT TO WEAR TO YOUR TRIAL • Wear something that can be easily removed, opting for clothing with a zip, buttons or wider collar is ideal. • Avoid wearing bright or dark colours as they can throw off the total vibe you’re going for and can sometimes influence your overall makeup look. The biggest thing to remember is to attend your appointment with an open mind, have trust in your makeup artist and be true to your own style and unique beauty.

29.10.2023 // MEET ME AT MARY’S Sometimes real love can be a bag of contradictions – hurry up and slow down, stay present but know that the future is even more exciting. For Helena and Bailey, their love story started slow – first meeting through friends at a house party and bonding over a shared love of music. With life pulling them in different ways, the pair stayed connected over socials and after chatting for a while, decided to buy tickets together to a music festival. Diving right in, Helena and Bailey took

the plunge and booked accommodation for the festival together in Mornington. With fate finally catching up with them, their love story was ready to unfold. As Helena lovingly remembers – the couple visited the Peninsula Hot Springs as two individuals and came out as a united pair. With Bailey living in Cobram and Helena in Geelong, it only took a few months of long drives before they took another leap and Bailey moved to Geelong to start their life together.

Moody, loved-up and romantic – Helena and Bailey’s wedding day was the perfect blend of staying in the moment and living it up. With the sun shining from the moment they woke up, the couple wanted to feel as calm and present as possible, starting their day with a private first-look to shake off any nerves. Inviting their nearest and dearest to witness their commitment to each other at Meet Me At Mary’s in Geelong, the pair brought together a team of incredible vendors who honoured the vision Helena and Bailey had for their big day. Saying ‘I do’ against a backdrop of bright florals and neon lights – the couple were ready to celebrate with their loved ones straight away with a champagne tower waiting at the end of their aisle. For Helena and Bailey, their wedding day truly lived up to the hype and it’s all thanks to the tireless planning and preparation of their family, close friends, and vendors. From incredible food to a party with banger after banger – every guest was blown away with the party of a lifetime. Soaking up every minute of their wedding day whirlwind, Helena and Bailey created a wedding that will live on in a very special part of their story – the part where they said I do, and the beginning of the best chapter yet.
